    Eggs are not Satvik they are Tamsik, if anyone's wondering. Video illustrated them incorrectly. Since ancient times indian *Yogies* have considered any non-vegetarian food *Tamasik* and food of *Rakshasa* and eggs are considered non-veg since ancient times.
    You cannot compare them with cow milk as they are just "taken" from chickens just like milk. It is like taking an undeveloped child out of mothers womb and consuming it. Milk doesn't develop and grow to be Cow, Goat or Human for that matter.

    • @ateendrasharma5687
      @ateendrasharma5687 7 лет назад +6

      (from reddit: www.reddit.com/r/NoStupidQuestions/comments/2dpti5/how_accurate_is_it_to_say_that_eggs_are_chicken/) "Chickens are not mammals, and do not have wombs - the egg is both the egg and the womb in that sense."
      Also, the chicken eggs that Rakshasas eat aren't fertilized. You're mixing yoga with moral connotations, which is wrong. The real reason for which eggs were labeled Tamasik has to do with how they affect our body.
      Moreoever, a food item is not Tamasik or Sattvic, these terms denote the "diet" or lifestyle - what you consume regularly. Eating a pizza once in a while is actually good for you.

    • @siddharthrajan616
      @siddharthrajan616 6 лет назад

      What we eat is called vegetarian eggs. They are not fertilized meaning there is no chick inside it. Basically it's like girls menstruating....egg is released without breeding. So basically there is no life in it. Like a mammal uses milk to feed the younger ones similarly eggs are used to feed the younger birds as there are several essential nutrients in it. And it turns out that these nutrients are very good for men also!!

      Eggs will probably fall in rajasic since it does help a great deal in providing energy, i get it about the rakshasa thing, im just talking practically, olden days people had a thing for integrating dislikes with culture/religion etc.. its the same with any religious group or community, im not at all disrespecting ancient yogis but they were also humans afterall. With changing time and more advancement we can categorize things better than before. Just an opinion✌

      anyway eggs are tamasic and forbidden for yogis.

      Any food which gives huge chunk of energy which leads to developing negative thoughts are under Tamasik Category.
      The food which gives enough energy to make you work but do not initiate any negative thoughts are under Rajasik category.
      The food which gives you enough energy to work and also induces good positive thoughts a much more relaxed mind are under Sattvic categories.
      Also as per Veda its never mentioned that people shouldn't eat Tamasik or Rajasik food.
      It is mentioned that people should eat food as per the job they are doing.
      A person who does to much labour work which involves much more physical activity is required to eat Tamasik food as their body cannot sustain over Rajasik or Sattvic food.
      People who are much more of into mental as well as physical should choose Rajasik food as they need a balance between mental as well as physical energy.
      Lastly people who are involved in meditation/ tapasya religious practices should be free from materialistic thought and should have enough energy to perform dhyana. For them Sattvic food is the most ideal food they should eat.
      So long back ago people used to say Sages and Yogi eat Sattvic food while demons and monsters eats Tamasik food as per their own nature

  • @dharmag2726

    The ancient Ayurvedic criteria for food to be considered Sattvic were foods were grown organically on good rich fertile soil. Sattvic food should be grown without pesticides, chemical fertilisers, sprays, insecticides, hormones or anything unnatural. Are we getting such food? In Ancient times egg is considered to be non vegetarian. But now, there has been lot of controversy about it especially in western countries. Excellent Video. Good info

      Thanks, a lot of people are commenting about the eggs, but who can know for sure? Only the body can ascertain whats good for it and whats not...just because someone said it 1500 years ago doesnt mean its absolute truth. Like you said, lot of research saying eggs are actually good for you..end of the day there are no hard and fast rules...we just have to use instinct.

      talkshh Yes, but unfortunately these messages are harshly suppressed by the allopathic medicines that most nowadays consume.. For eg. The increase in blood pressure and cholesterol is considered to be a 'disease' and its symptoms like slow metabolism and increased heart rate are suppressed, rather than their root cause being cured, ie- clogged arteries and toxic atmosphere
      This is the main reason why people have to rely upon meds for their entire lives, because they are just treating the symptoms, but not the root cause of it all.. That is why Yoga and Ayurveda is so important

    Also animals can have emotional cravings. We had to leave first our pets behind when we moved from one country to another. In that year they were taking care of a cousin. Only one of our pets did not get along with the other pets in the house. So she kept our pets in her room. Now one of our cats has a weight problem and at nights miause a lot. She'd eat also our other cat's food. She doesn't like to be left alone. So, I'd say: pets can also have emotional cravings.
    Science should check that out too ;)

So now instead of following a diet because thats what everybody says to be healthy, I now listen to my body. I eat eggs in the morning and have noticed a huge improvment with my gut issues. I juice vegetables and eat less pork and chicken.

      Ace Ventura the egga you get on a daily basis from chickens are the periods of the chickens...so they werent going to become live anyway. So in a sense i see it just like taking milk from the cow

    if you want true spirituality go to Hare Krishnas. this people are true saints they never eat meat, never drink or smoke, get up before 4 a.m. in the morning and even have sex only to give birth to children. And they use all their money to print books and serve free feasts for everyone.

    I was on board until you claimed animals like cows do not have emotions.
    What a load of crap!
    Cows are very emotional & strongly bonded to their calves, when they lose them they cry just as we do.

    Triggered jokes aren’t funny and it just came out of nowhere, serving no purpose but to belittle people who are struggling. You’re better than that.

    Did you show eggs in Sattavik !!?! What is wrong with people convoluted understanding , food dosent translate in to ojus , veerya does if harnessed by yogic ways , this video is junk nd good for confusing the already confused people , at stop attributing it to yogis as they never said what you are saying here
