Back in the days when GTA V came out, I was a little 12 Year old boy with a little smartphone. And back then it was amazing. I almost couldn't differentiate between videos from real life and out of GTA on this small screen with approximately 720p (if it was even that good). I would watch gameplay all night and adore this masterpiece, and wish to grow up faster so I could play GTA 6 eventually. I was 13 when my mom would allowed me to play GTA5 under her supervision on the Xbox 360 I got as birthday present. And it was one of the most (not the best ever, but pretty high up there) amazing experiences I had while playing a game to this day. When next gen came along, I was eager to save enough money to buy a next gen console and GTA once again, besides Forza. As car enthusiast that was THE other game for me to play. And when I was finally able to get one in a sale, I was so happy and felt just as excited as the first time I played GTA. Now we have the newest gen. And I am 20 Years old. I really don't mind the graphics that much anymore. If a game has nice graphics, I like that as much as when it has good atmosphere, a good story to tell or if it is just simply entertaining. GTA doesn't do anything of that anymore. The Story is the same as in the 8 year old game, with no real additional content, the graphics doesn't look that much better than on the "Xbox", and of course it doesn't deliver a new atmosphere. So I won't buy the Expanded and enhanced. I will stay away from Rockstar, until they deliver a new game. Hopefully a game, that is as groundbreaking and as catching as GTA V once was.
Couldn't have said it better. Back when GTA 5 came out, I would always watch it on RUclips, I watched channels like Redkeymon. Also, occasionally I played it on my friend's Xbox 360. And now I have a powerful PC, but no game has ever brought me an experience comparable to that. I still have high hopes for GTA 6 though, but we can just wait and see

The old gen versions' color palette and the atmosphere is like the original painting done by the artist. What came after looks like the young generations' iterations of the original old art.
The same goes to GTA San Andreas on PS2 and every other plataform that the game came out after until now with the trilogy or the 10th glitch anniversary version
For real. I still think the Xbox 360 / PS3 version is hands-down the best. It looks not only nostalgic, but correct. The lack of fog and lack of tint.. It's almost like it was made for that generation and we should've had a new game to replace it by now.

It’s amazing how good the 360 still holds up in general. It’s colour pallet holds the game so well compared to the muted upgraded versions of the games
the reason that the difference is so less is because gta 5 engine wasnt made for 3 fuckin generations, and rockstar has still a bit to go for gta 6 so thats why it is as it is.

There’s a limitation here. The 360 pushed to its limit, and the Series X pushed to what it can do with what little it can. Its amazing the difference in terms of picture quality from a decade ago, the clean anti-aliasing alone makes a massive difference. I love going back to old games on the Xbox 360 and just respecting what was possible on a machine built before the 2010s, even Skyrim on the Xbox 360 is pretty incredible given the tech.
The fact that they released a game for the third time in a row in the year 2022 that was originally designed for a console introduced in 2005, it's just ridiculous
The best GTA comparison video I have ever seen, but it also really made me take a look back in time to when the game released. I know that it is weird, but I was only about 4 or 5 when GTA V came released, only my dad would let me play it, and I still remember(or at least I think I do) the first thing I saw when I came into the room and saw GTA V on the TV, franklin's car parked in an alleyway. Before I saw that I had just been playing GTA san andreas, well, not really "playing" because I was still 3, I would watch and sometimes get on the controller. GTA V is truly a masterpiece, especially when it came out. And I thank you InControlAgain, for bringing these memories back.
I think the reason why the jump from 360 to One is so large is because the One version is how it looked during development on PC. The quality was then toned down to make the game run on the 360. There was no need for Rockstar to go ahead and do the same for the series x, as the game was approaching the end of its lifecycle.
Oh man that soundtrack is a pure nostalgia throwback to some of the GTA V trailers and pause menu music😎 But yeah a very nice overall comparison there, between the general gameplay differences and certainly appreciate you trying your best to line up each of the scene shots too!👍👏
The one thing that I like about the enhanced version is the varied traffic. Cars are more diverse; not the same three that spawn in an area. Can’t tell you how many times I hated seeing the Enus Huntley spawn endlessly on the Xbox One.
I swear as a kid playing this for the first time on the 360, it looked like the series X is currently vs how it looked. So trippy seeing the game go through three console generations
I still remember the day of September the 17th 2013 when my copy for X360 finally arrived. Man, the minutes during the installation were the most paintful.
Yeah, so I get now why Rockstar didn't release any other trailers after the first two. They didn't want anyone realizing that there aren't any expansions or enhancements, apart from the 60fps upgrade.
that’s untrue, upgrades in texture quality, particle effect, etc (every pc setting turned to max) ray traced GI, motion blur, depth of field, just bc you don’t see doesn’t mean it’s not there
There is only one thing i really really want back from Xbox 360 and thats the detailed map. Like it showed laps and detail of the map not just a black blackground.
I was playing on the 360 to the end especially after the train wreck that was the after hours DLC. But eventually I was forced to move on after the server shutdown. When they shut down the service they didn't just shut down a console generation they shut down most of my childhood. If it wasn't for the contract DLC releasing a day before the server shut down and introducing a amani tech nothing would have convinced me to get a newer version of GTA and deal with that flying bike.
I feel the same way and surprised not many others talking about it. It’s pretty obvious the color is better on the 360 and also the higher frame rate on xbone and series x looks worse too, tacky and fake.
Might just be me, but I like that the 360/PS3 versions of GTA5 used fog at 5:43 to hide the low quality assets from far away. Beyond the fact that it really does add a sense of scale in its own weird way, I just found it more visually pleasing than seeing nearly every bit of the low poly mountain.
That sort of haze and muted color pallet on the Xbox One and Series X version really shows in this comparison. The 360 version was so vibrant and probably why it felt so lifelike to me on release back when I was a 13 year old kid playing it on midnight launch.
At this point, it’s just absurd how long there hasn’t been a new GTA game. I was in high school back in 2013 and GTA 5 was the first game I pre ordered on my 360 with money I made working as a bartender in the summer before. If I had known there’d be no GTA 6 even announced by the time I’m 2 years away from my 30s, my hype would’ve been completely gone. Seriously, what’s wrong with Rockstar. Anyways, good video!
It literally looks worse than the PC version.. TBF , I had low expectations, but atleast I hoped they wouldn't screw up the character transfer, and well they did...
Thanks. I don’t remember the story that much anymore and I had plans in replaying the story on my Series X but I was waiting for the upgraded edition. Now it’s here, I think Im fine with just playing the One edition my Series X free, instead of paying for the “enhanced” edition.
I wonder what the resolution difference is between "performance" and "performance RT". if the "performance" mode has a slightly higher resolution than the "performance RT" mode then that might actually be the best way to go considering the only thing benefiting from the ray tracing in the "performance RT" mode are the shadows, not reflections which is a bummer, therefor its not really worth the trade off since you barely notice RT shadows unless you're looking down at your characters own shadow. so if the "performance" mode has a slight advantage over "performance RT" mode in any way other than the Ray tracing, ill definitely start to strictly use the normal "Performance" mode from here on. but so far I haven't got a clear answer on that
The main thing i noticed with the cars is that with each new generation it looks like the cars are getting further away from the road as in it looks like the cars are on a road green screen kinda thing compared to actually on the ground
360 to xb One difference: Day and night xb One to xb Series difference: night and 15 minutes later that same night. This of course also applies to ps3 to ps4 and ps4 to ps5 differences, but the video is about xbox
I kind of like the hazed look of the original, they did a good job of using effects to make it look nice with limited hardware available while in the new ones the ugly graphics are in your face
It still blows my mind what the 360 was able to run. Even at 720p, this game still looked and played great, for the time. And going from what they could do with San Andreas to GTA V, just one console gen later, is pretty insane. Then you have the fact, that even 2 gens later, it can push a system so hard, that it can't do 4k 60. Though 1440p is still so much better than 1080p. Then there is the Series S... Which is still a great console for the price, but needs FSR 2.0 sooo bad.
It's not consoles' bad but Rockstar not trying to fully utilize their hardware. I still think PS5 & XSX should be able to play GTAV on 4K with 60FPS without any troubles so far

I agree with you. I really miss the PS3/360 version because it reminds me of 2013, but the best version and the one that gave "life" to GTA V was the one for PS4/One and shortly after PC. I recently got the PS5, but I'm still of the opinion that the Series X/PS5 version isn't much use because it doesn't really add anything. What GTA V had to give has already given and I would never buy GTA V on PS5, because I would only benefit from a bit of graphics and effects which maybe the PS4 doesn't have, but in essence it's really useless... It's just a waste of money in my opinion.
Personally i would say it is a big improvment for this game. Just the 60 fps make a huge difference for the flow of the gameplay. Douple the framerate makes it way more smoother than it was before and the new lighting give of a nice vibe tbh. To be fair, yes those are just super small improvements and so on but dont think it is that easy to just take the old graphics and remodel them. It is a big game so it would take so many resources to do so. I would say those 60fps and better lighting make those 10 euros totally worth because its just a whole other gameplay experience.

360 is so nostalgic, feels like it was just yesterday... time sure flies.
no it wasnt
Its amazing the difference in terms of picture quality from a decade ago, the clean anti-aliasing alone makes a massive difference. I love going back to old games on the Xbox 360 and just respecting what was possible on a machine built before the 2010s, even Skyrim on the Xbox 360 is pretty incredible given the tech.
The fact that they released a game for the third time in a row in the year 2022 that was originally designed for a console introduced in 2005, it's just ridiculous

Was thinking you would make this and it came up a minute later!
You should play GTA IV too
I think the reason why the jump from 360 to One is so large is because the One version is how it looked during development on PC. The quality was then toned down to make the game run on the 360.
There was no need for Rockstar to go ahead and do the same for the series x, as the game was approaching the end of its lifecycle.
4:30 idk why but I like the 360 version more
Probably has better shades, looks less like permanent fog and more like actual shadows.
@@gustasborusas6355 Yeah the fog made it look old

But yeah a very nice overall comparison there, between the general gameplay differences and certainly appreciate you trying your best to line up each of the scene shots too!👍👏

I remembered playing this game when it first came out on the 360 back in 2013. Great times
The one thing that I like about the enhanced version is the varied traffic. Cars are more diverse; not the same three that spawn in an area. Can’t tell you how many times I hated seeing the Enus Huntley spawn endlessly on the Xbox One.
The memories that flood back looking at the 360 version! That’s the GTA V I loved 🥰
The fact Rockstar was able to get GTA V to run so well on a 512mb GPU from 2005 is impressive.
I swear as a kid playing this for the first time on the 360, it looked like the series X is currently vs how it looked. So trippy seeing the game go through three console generations
wtf are you talking about? it literally looks worse than the lowest settings on PC.
The fact that you went all the way back to 360, made me miss it even though I have the Xbox SX right now
GTA-V felt like 1080p image quality the visuals, & graphics looked so unique for it's time era.
Your editing is very IMPRESSIVE
why the fuck did i write this its not
4 things I've noticed that had the biggest improvements. Lighting, Reflections, more foliage, and Rock Textures on the mountains.
I still remember the day of September the 17th 2013 when my copy for X360 finally arrived. Man, the minutes during the installation were the most paintful.
Yeah, so I get now why Rockstar didn't release any other trailers after the first two. They didn't want anyone realizing that there aren't any expansions or enhancements, apart from the 60fps upgrade.
that’s untrue, upgrades in texture quality, particle effect, etc (every pc setting turned to max) ray traced GI, motion blur, depth of field, just bc you don’t see doesn’t mean it’s not there
@@ltodom5884 Its basically the PC version maxed out. Something that has been possible for the past 7 years. GTA V looks very dated.

really good video comparassion. the changes of console scene are very fun to see and very well timed
There is only one thing i really really want back from Xbox 360 and thats the detailed map. Like it showed laps and detail of the map not just a black blackground.
The Xbox 360 version of gta 5 still gives me a Los santos vibe
I was playing on the 360 to the end especially after the train wreck that was the after hours DLC. But eventually I was forced to move on after the server shutdown. When they shut down the service they didn't just shut down a console generation they shut down most of my childhood. If it wasn't for the contract DLC releasing a day before the server shut down and introducing a amani tech nothing would have convinced me to get a newer version of GTA and deal with that flying bike.
Just do solo public glitch
Also, a problem now about the 360 version is since the servers shutdown, the BASWAQ and the photos dosen't work anymore
@@codenamebogdan8050 It doesn't work anymore unless you've got a new one. If so please share

I actually prefer the color palette on Xbox 360 much more with the best example being the helicopter flying through the valley at 4:23
I feel the same way and surprised not many others talking about it. It’s pretty obvious the color is better on the 360 and also the higher frame rate on xbone and series x looks worse too, tacky and fake.
The water even looked better. 360 was the shit

The difference between 360- one is great! The difference between the one- series x is literally not great
This has been a big help choosing which model second hand console to get, thanks!
This video just saved me £450
That sort of haze and muted color pallet on the Xbox One and Series X version really shows in this comparison. The 360 version was so vibrant and probably why it felt so lifelike to me on release back when I was a 13 year old kid playing it on midnight launch.
We appreciate the effort and time you put in these videos, it really shows man 🔥
At this point, it’s just absurd how long there hasn’t been a new GTA game.
0:55 HOW THE FUCK the explosion looks better on 360?!
that pause menu music remix issa vibe tho
It literally looks worse than the PC version.. TBF , I had low expectations, but atleast I hoped they wouldn't screw up the character transfer, and well they did...
Thanks. I don’t remember the story that much anymore and I had plans in replaying the story on my Series X but I was waiting for the upgraded edition. Now it’s here, I think Im fine with just playing the One edition my Series X free, instead of paying for the “enhanced” edition.
It legit just looks like the PC version outside of very specific locations where raytracing makes a decent effect. Quite disappointing to be honest.

There’s a charm to how the old Xbox 360 look was to gta 5 that makes the game feel more classic as in comparison to the newer editions of gta 5
Imma be honest, I liked how gta on xbox360 and ps3 looks more than the other versions of the game
Very colorful and darker where it should be. The other two look kinda washed out and the shadows dont ever feel dark enough.
The fact that the 360 version still holds up is masterful.
0:41 How come xbox 360 is the one with the most realistic sky color

Awesome comparison
I honestly don’t think it’s even worth 20$.your paying for more lighting and 60fps for the same game.
Fax at this point buy a pc
2:50 crazy to see they got rid of the bugs in the field effect
360 to xb One difference: Day and night
xb One to xb Series difference: night and 15 minutes later that same night.
This of course also applies to ps3 to ps4 and ps4 to ps5 differences, but the video is about xbox
The new menu will forever make me think of you now because of the music.
I kind of like the hazed look of the original, they did a good job of using effects to make it look nice with limited hardware available while in the new ones the ugly graphics are in your face
I like how subtle the differences are from one to series but you can still tell they are their, like the smoothing of cracks and fauna, 👌
Just go on pc then
1080p? WHY Why not 4K60 Video to see the details?
Imagine what the final edition of gta 6 will look like in 2036
It still blows my mind what the 360 was able to run.
I still think PS5 & XSX should be able to play GTAV on 4K with 60FPS without any troubles so far
everybody talks about how clean GTA V looks on the new gen but nobody says anything about how clean the video is.

The fact that they ran this game on three generations is insane.

I like the normal ps 4/pc/one version because it has a very noticeable changes when compared to the old gen, also in my opinion it has best Colour correction out of all, it isn’t so realistic as latest one, but it matches very good to the sunny and shiny los santos and whole island.
I like the Xbox 360 vault explosion at 0:53 better imo, higher frames in games kinda look weird sometimes to me
Personally i would say it is a big improvment for this game.
This reminds me of my good old days, its the time i know im getting old too, perhaps a goofy smile and a teardrop can honor the XBOX 360
