Honestly, makes sense that most people turn out to be saints when playing as the Lone Wanderer. 101's father is special. He has a wonderful soul in such a horrible world.

Fallout 3's evil options are a bit too over the top. Blow up a whole settlement, unleash a horde of ghouls into a tower so they can kill all the inhabitants, literally force children into slavery. You'd have to be roleplaying a complete psychopath to take some of those options lol. I think New Vegas handled evil choices a bit better.

James is my favorite Fallout 3 character, not because of Liam Neeson, but his personality as "James" as a selfless character, who simply wishes to do good for all of the commonwealth and humanity itself by trying to purify the radiated water, where people will no longer have to suffer from the contaminated water, but ultimately he wanted his good deed to be the "example" so one day humanity itself could redeem itself and have some sort of hope then slowly change the hellscape that is the fallout world; where civilization has fallen apart, which is ruled by chaos and violence.
What makes James an epic character, is his conviction and principle, where he lived by his principle and conviction that is not selfish and misguided but simply humble and very human despite James task and his attempt to purify those contaminated water which itself is an achievement itself, in a world where people now care for their own self-preservation to driven by their greed to violence to extreme hedonism to those who are driven by their own selfish ideologies in attempt to remake the world to suit their own need. Especially in such a world, James stands out, where his selflessness and great desire to do good stand out and much as he lived his own principle, he is willing to die for it which makes James not only a martyr but also a visionary, revolutionary to a kind of his own.

I loved how fallout 3 did the karma system. It was actually difficult to be a good character since the only way you get good karma is from completing the good version of quest. Most quest can be completed by killing someone, but the good version of the quest requires you to solve what ever conflict was happening.
