- All Diamond City Guards' comments on the Sole Survivor's companions. They don't say anything about Preston Garvey, the final comment isn't about him either, I just had him with me when it triggered. :)

I think it had something to do with the Mayor's Institute connections and the fact that a lot of Ghouls knew about how the Old World was.
... still pretty weird that they still let Super Mutants in, though, considering the city was attacked by them in 2180.

Every part of the US has its own accent. You got mid western, Texan, Southern (in slightly different varieties for each state) New York, California, Boston, Minnesota, etc.

Yeah they repurposed the umpire uniforms they found when they turned one of the dugouts into the security office. Unfortunately the game engine and console restrictions did a number on the amount of detail we get to see in Diamond "City." After the events of the Winter of Atom I'd still expect all of the benches in the stands to have tens of thousands of squatters, tents, huts and shacks with refugees and little kids running around climbing on the nets and shit. Until hardware advances some more and there's a new engine probably well keep seeing relatively desolate settlements in these games.

I really like the comments about Nick, especially with how his backstory involves him facing a lot of anti-synth feeling when he first got to Diamond City. The guard's comments show that at least they're able to accept him as one of their own, even if they don't know the right way to describe him.
With how long Nick did nothing but good for the people in Diamond City, and he evidently has had almost nothing to do with the institute ever since they threw him out. He’s also really transparent about him being a synth so everyone is sort of like “Alright you specifically are chill”

It's not "You are travelling with a synth?", it's "Are you a synth?". The original question was why would the player be hanging out with a robot, then the guard questions the player about them being a synth, that being the "logical" conclusion since synths should like robots. Or at least uneducated folk might think so.

To be fair, when a courser is deployed, they usually kill anyone and everyone that might blow their cover, ergo, most everyone but the railroad or former members of the institute don't really recognize what a courser actually looks like. We wouldn't know what they looked like either if we hadn't seen one in Kellogg's memories, which was coincidentally X6-88.
