Baby Dragon Thats why that mod was made, many people have compared him to Buzz, I did actually think it was Tim Allen the first time I met him in my first playthrough but realised after Arcjet that he wasnt but still his Dialogue is very Buzz like. I wonder if that was intentional by Bethesda

I think It's implied that While Curie can speak Japanese to it. Codsworth can actually interface with it directly and skip words all together. So Takahashi is actually able to understand words.

@@s.s.haswanthselvan7064 this could explain why Curie thinks Takahashi is broken; as a gen 3 synth, she no longer has the receptors for the waves used by protectrons.
Codsworth, being a full robot, and Nick being in-between can understand what Takahashi is actually saying.

I think Codsworth was the only one capable of conversing with it somehow, the others were just messing around. Although seeing as it's a protectron, i don't know if it is even capable of thought at all.
@@georgiykireev9678 Also, remember that ol' Valentine is not a gen 3 synth and it certainly has a thing for computers (can hack any terminal), so he probably has the same interface of communication available of Mr. Handies and Protectrons. Codsworth certainly did understand it by identifying his name as well, so Protectrons seem to do have such communication interface,
Based on what codsworth said, the thing that allows Takahashi to speak is broken, which is why he said parts will turn up. I guess he can still understand him, robot to robot.
One comment suggested they can communicate through radio signals as well.
Something i find strange is why do they even expect the ability to think from Takahashi. It's a protectron, which are just about the simplest, dumbest type of robot in this universe.

I don't know why but for some reason, I love that Piper has given the player the nickname Blue. Makes the player feel more like a person in the game since they are actually addressed by something that isn't a rank like general or knight.

Takahashi's dialogue is correctly subtitled in the Japanese version of the game as "ナンニシマスカ？", which is "Nan-ni shimasu-ka?" written phonetically with katakana characters, as is common for robotic speech. In regular kanji+hiragana, this would be written "何にしますか？" It roughly means "May I take your order?" in polite Japanese. Takahashi seems only to understand the word "yes" in response."
