+Angelo Luna Railroad doesn't have manpower, and neither do the Minutemen, to fight the endless army of Synths for too long so they have to blow it up before it's too late. Even the Shut Down you activate only shuts down some of them. BoS though... well, they could have won, but Maxson has, contrary to popular beliefs, too much Lyons in him and probably decided it was not worth the risk +Jerec 12 Railroad does not fight for Synths, but for humans that are not treated as such. Aka, they don't care about Synths as a race, but as humans... though I don't think they do that either or they wouldn't manipulate them into getting mem-wipes. If you want to fight for Synths as a race, you have to go Institute and believe that your SS will give Synths better life (or that Institute will create so many of them that they'll be able to create their own nation)
The problem is that saving humanity from the view point of the institue means destroing it for everyone else.Replacing humanity with a bunch of robots is not saving hukmanity.
I wonder how it "helps humanity" to abduct innocent people, turn them into super mutants, experiment on them, and then set them back loose onto the commonwealth so they can kill and eat people. When you're actively reducing the number of humans by turning them into mutants and then setting them loose to kill more humans, you're doing the OPPOSITE of saving humanity. Man you guys really fell for Shaun's manipulative BS hook line and sinker, didn't ya. Not to mention the Institute's completely contradictory philosophy. How can synths be "mankind, redefined" if they don't even consider synths to be anything more than machines? How can "Father" be "family" to the synths when, if you tell him you think they should have the right to be free, he freaks out and compares them to simple machines?
I like that Danse and Deacon talk about the Minutemen negatively while out traveling, but when it came to this they gave their approval for their work.
Mythical Melon It is bigger, you can see when you infiltrate inside the Institute. That you see in 1st person looks small but when you look from far distance it is big.
Or you could go as railroad and destroy both the institute and the brotherhood. The scientists that survived could just go to Big Mountain (BIG M.T) and continue their research there easily.
*sees 'Classical Radio station lost' appear on screen* Wait, the Institute is who broadcasts that station and we lose it if we blow up the Institute? That's my favorite station. I don't know if I can blow it up now. :(
+Gamedam Meister Yea, if you get far enough in the Institute missions, they tell you the broadcast and the music it plays are the waves the synths uses to teleport.
+nukalegend Ah, I see. Well, that sucks. That radio station is the only one I listen to consistently, but in order to keep it I have to side with the bad guys.
Gamedam Meister they really aren't any worse than the brotherhood of steel. Also, they are the best hope for humanity technologically. I side with them, but ignore their orders on synths.
Wow, Preston really got angry about you not issuing the evac order. Interesting to see X6. I'm amazed he just had one line about it instead of chewing you out and then trying to shoot you.
My problem exactly with this game. Everyone knows everything, a lion, a plane, an airship ? How do they know these things ? so unbelievable. Do you remember the boomers talking about the plane in new Vegas. That was a real wasteland.
Hearing some of Prestons longer dialogue makes me realize that Preston just doesn't get a lot of dialogue in general. I think here and when you meet him is when he talks the most.
And so the Sole Survivor destroyed the Institute and for the first time in years a sense of peace was brought to the Commonwealth. The people rejoiced that their greatest threat, their "Boogeyman" was behind them and though it would take years of hard work and rebuilding they would make the Commonwealth their home again. The next morning however Diamond City Radio received a report that a mysterious flag had been placed on the ruins bearing a ring of stars with a capital E in the middle...
***** The flag is an emblem for the Enclave. I won't go into details but I will say this: if that does happen in Fallout 4 the Commonwealth just got a more dangerous foe then the Institute ever could be.
+Nicolas Larrain But I thought in order to get the Minutemen ending you had to have the Institute be hostile towards you? That's at least how I got it to trigger
5igge Two years late, but you have to destroy the Institute with the Railroad if you want X6 alive, ironically. The Railroad and Institute endings are the only endings where X6 is still your ally.
Danse: "A place where people no longer have to live in fear but instead, live in peace." Pfff yeah right, because the brotherhood absolutely doesn't have anything against ghouls who were humans before. I don't want to start a war but i don't think there would be peace with the brotherhood.
No there's definitely going to be peace with the people who kill anyone in the way even the railroad and who think they're helping by killing everyone and who kill one of their own because he's a synt- Ok now that i wrote it out like this i think there might be a chance for no peace at all. Lel
+Shion x Brotherhood dont actively hunt ghouls, or kill them on sight. They dont like 'em cause in the end all ghouls go feral, thats why they dehumanize them. Brotherhood+Minuteman is the best standing point Commonwealth has
+Yusuf Alkan Didn't meant to start a serious talk here but i was just pointing out my thoughts :P the brotherhood are dicks if you ask me. Never liked them. They also dislike synths and i don't see a reason for that..
Shion x Me as well :P BoS has some bad ideologies but they're good people. They're the only force in the wasteland that can stand up and fight against bad guys (enclave and instute)Maybe I'm a little patriotic on the inside soo I like being a unifed army force in a post-apocalyptic world. People call them Nazis though but I fail to see it. The synth issue is debatable but I dont understand "they hate super mutants thats racist" thing. Super Mutants are monsters, Fawkes doesnt change it. And I came to dislike synths even more because of the railroad :/
Can't see why people think they're Nazis? They think they can decide who has the right to life. Just compare the Brotherhood in 3 and 4. Lyons wanted to help people in the capital wasteland, not just collect technology. But the ghouls in underworld still would'nt dare to leave the building, because the Brotherhood shot them on sight, feral or not. I'm not that against them, because I think they have a point, but I can see why other gamers hate them
It’s just if you do the railroad line and leave X6 behind you never actually get banished from the institute, and I guess they left in an Easter egg rather than add a second hostility flag to X6
@@vboi5697 Wasn't a tactical nuke, but an underground nuclear reactor that you, ironically, help the institute to restore and power up. While they are similar, a nuclear bomb and a nuclear reactor are 2 different things, with the latter not being purpose build to destroy things, BUT can and was used like that here. It being underground limited the destruction to the institute only, hence there is a huge hole in the ground. Had it been above ground, all the surrounding buildings around the CIT would have been destroyed as well
Because it's a huge waste, especially if humanity is living in something akin to the dark ages. I mean, the brotherhood at least could try to occupy it, shutting down all the synth related projects but no.
General Reaction: Ah, the Institute is gone. Now, we have nothing to fear. Except bands of pillaging, raping, toture-happy raiders, giant mutants, Mirelurks, and flying, armored racists.

Fun fact: The only ending where Mama Murphy says humanity will be saved is the Institute ending.
The problem is that saving humanity from the view point of the institue means destroing it for everyone else.Replacing humanity with a bunch of robots is not saving hukmanity.
Mors Letum They don't want to replace humanity with robots
Dazed Maestro they kidnap people , probably murder them, and replace them with a robot.
yeah but they just replace some important people, they don't want to replace humanity. That's what I meant to say.
I'm just mad there wasn't an "I forgot the evacuation order" option, because I did, and I felt horrible. Goddamnit Bethesda!
Gino You forgot it. Bethesda didn't. Why blame them? You did or you didn't evacuate.
Blowing up the Institute causes a lot more damage over blowing up the Prydwen.
+Sumner Curvat Their base is more bigger than what you see inside of The Institute.
i blew up both
Mythical Melon
It is bigger, you can see when you infiltrate inside the Institute. That you see in 1st person looks small but when you look from far distance it is big.
Why not destroy both
Or you could go as railroad and destroy both the institute and the brotherhood.
The scientists that survived could just go to Big Mountain (BIG M.T) and continue their research there easily.
again, Preston demonstrating that he has less emotion than robots
*marks settlement in your map*
Babe
+Dan I dunno he got a bit mad
+Dan In the last scene, he actually showed a lot of emotion. He showed more than I think he did in any other scene in the game.
+Barrex912 I agree, I was impressed. I thought there would be more comments about it
Preston's quote where you evacuate everyone is probably my favorite
"Another settlement needs you're help general"
*sees 'Classical Radio station lost' appear on screen*
Wait, the Institute is who broadcasts that station and we lose it if we blow up the Institute? That's my favorite station. I don't know if I can blow it up now. :(
+Gamedam Meister Yea, if you get far enough in the Institute missions, they tell you the broadcast and the music it plays are the waves the synths uses to teleport.
+nukalegend Ah, I see. Well, that sucks. That radio station is the only one I listen to consistently, but in order to keep it I have to side with the bad guys.
Gamedam Meister they really aren't any worse than the brotherhood of steel. Also, they are the best hope for humanity technologically. I side with them, but ignore their orders on synths.
Wrathful Sausage what about the Enclave? They cared more about humanity by killing off any human or Vault Dweller infected from the FEV
@Josh Coulson BOS in FO4 is far from evil
Wow, Preston really got angry about you not issuing the evac order.
Interesting to see X6. I'm amazed he just had one line about it instead of chewing you out and then trying to shoot you.
Garvey should be like: What's a Pony?
ikr
My problem exactly with this game. Everyone knows everything, a lion, a plane, an airship ? How do they know these things ? so unbelievable. Do you remember the boomers talking about the plane in new Vegas. That was a real wasteland.
4TheWinQuinn Yep. Also, note how Deacon seems to know how a lot of Old World things played out, like Rehab meetings.
It's the animal that guys who shouted "the British are here !" (whatever their names were) rode... I think.
Miguel Chavarin Oh, I pretty much forgotten that. They don't teach those things where I live so I have to read a bit by myself.
+KenBlake Whatever I blew up their base before, i'l do it again.
*****
The flag is an emblem for the Enclave. I won't go into details but I will say this: if that does happen in Fallout 4 the Commonwealth just got a more dangerous foe then the Institute ever could be.
+Nicholas Cage for President 2016 Then just like you Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage you know how utterly insane they are.
Like being ruled by a computer.
Nicholas Cage for President 2016 Hey he thought he was President so that's good enough for them.
HOW DID YOU HAVE X6 WITH YOU???????
Minutemen ending
+Nicolas Larrain But I thought in order to get the Minutemen ending you had to have the Institute be hostile towards you? That's at least how I got it to trigger
Unit X6-88 goodbye
5igge Two years late, but you have to destroy the Institute with the Railroad if you want X6 alive, ironically. The Railroad and Institute endings are the only endings where X6 is still your ally.
Your Average Internet Person that’s sad
even though preston was upset because you didnt activate the evacuation order, he was more upset because there was a settlement that needed your help
😂😂😂😂
"Winning the Good Fight," Danse said. Maybe, somewhere out there, Three Dog is howling and reporting this victory.
Danse: "A place where people no longer have to live in fear but instead, live in peace."
Pfff yeah right, because the brotherhood absolutely doesn't have anything against ghouls who were humans before.
I'm not that against them, because I think they have a point, but I can see why other gamers hate them
Jennifer: The Minutemen are still needed. There are settlements that need help. Here, I'll mark this one on your map.
Preston: Yeah... wait, what!?
I actually felt something with that last preston one. I kinda feel bad that he doesn't get taken seriously.
Preston: I guess we better get back to work.
*long pause*
I've gotten word that another settlement needs your help.
9:32 Preston's voice actor absolutely NAILS that line
I guess if you convince Father to help you, X6 will forgive your destruction of the Institute.
It’s just if you do the railroad line and leave X6 behind you never actually get banished from the institute, and I guess they left in an Easter egg rather than add a second hostility flag to X6
I love how the institute explosion is the size of a nuclear bomb.... but the raider camp right next to the CIT building is completely intact
It was hella deep underground.
0:38 don’t worry about it codsworth, the writers didn’t know either.
I mean, the followers of the apocalypse, if they count...
@@jackmoseley4959
I was referring to the groups of the commonwealth, as their motivations were often unstated or incredibly vague / nonsensical
“So yeah, we did that.”
Deacon, 2287
The best reaction ever😂😂
Piper does a good job of making you feel like not a shitty person for destroying the institute
Strong said something? It's a miracle!
Yeah, hearing him say something made my day!
Holy shit, Preston actually showed some emotion.
ikr
oh by the way a settlement needs your help
"That was one hell of a bang, wasn't it?" - Preston Garvey
*lenny face*
+Preston Garvey babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe babe
And apparently everyone in the commonwealth survives this. XD
It was probably a tatical nuke unlike the ones at the beginning of the game.
Had it been above ground, all the surrounding buildings around the CIT would have been destroyed as well
danse mentioning the "good fight" was a nice touch.
As shitty as I felt siding with the institute, I felt even shittier blowing it up.
...what why!
2 centuries of research gone with a push of a button
Because it's a huge waste, especially if humanity is living in something akin to the dark ages. I mean, the brotherhood at least could try to occupy it, shutting down all the synth related projects but no.
+knight westcoast ad Victorian knight
coreion givens ad victoriam brother!
*after Blowing up the Institute, with X6*
"A Word...Ma'am?
Nick is so awesome, his approval is the best thing to hear
"Cambridge has one hell of a new pothole?" I died at that!
"There are plenty of other problems to deal with...like this nearby settlement in danger, I'll mark it on your map..."
1:32 Curie's so shocked she forgot to speak with an accent
General Reaction: Ah, the Institute is gone. Now, we have nothing to fear.
Except bands of pillaging, raping, toture-happy raiders, giant mutants, Mirelurks, and flying, armored racists.
Super Mutants*
Toad the Fungus Them too.
@@SpadaccinoLuciano super mutants are armored racist
@@roachdoggjr.5494 That;s the Brotherhood the original user was referring to.
@@Johnnybdecent oh
yeah let's all get giddy that the Sole Surviver killed their own son and destroyed his dreams
hey smoke
Big Smoke All we had to do was follow the damn train CJ!!
Big Smoke he killed them because they didn't give him 2 number 9's, a number 9 large,.....
His own son that was a murderous sociopath and whos dreams are evil.
"I am disappointed in you son, thats why im gonna kill every one of your "friends" your dreams and also you,
Bye!"
**sounds of revolver getting fired and a bullet piercing the skull**
"So we just killed everyone!?!"
"Ok, Preston, I can see you're upset, but hear me out.....at least it's not raining."
"The Institute needs your help."
Wow Danse's dialogue was super well voice acted. It almost made me teary actually ;-;
Did Preston finally become human?! He has never shown this much emotion!
blowing up Megaton felt and looked better
Hmmm.... Yeah saying that makes you a bad person
Ah yes theres nothing better than nuking alot of innocent people
-1000
I was half expecting Old Man Tenpenny to be sitting in a lounge chair with you watching that boom boom
+jose giraldo ...I seriously just read that in Danse's voice.
So no Institute means no Classical Music to listen too, huh? Actually bit bummed about that.
0:56
Now I realised, Cait saying "Hell of a job you did there...hell of a job" is a hint towards Sentinel Lyons from Fallout 3 Broken Steel DLC. She said the exact same thing to the Lone Wanderer before they boarded the veritibird
My Mom: You can’t become that you’re not good enough.
Nora, literally drops a bomb on his son’s hopes and dreams.
What would you do if your son had psychopathic dreams
@@MrPsych77 depends on what thos dreams are
Everyone: "Yay! The institute is destroyed!"
Paladin Danse:
next thing the Enclave show's up.
Outstanding
"To see such knowledge perverted..."
Jesus, Curie. Don't get me all worked up.
Strong tells brothers great stories!
You go, my man.
"Shepard Commander. Does this unit have a soul?"
Sorry, couldn't help it with the N7 Cait and the Synth/AI connection.
5:04 Danse: "And even though you elected to carry out the mission with the Minutemen at your side, the result is the same." See, this is my problem with Fallout 4!
I hope when Danse said the Good Fight he was referencing Three Dog. He did grow up in rivet city
It made me so happy that Curie approved of this decision. She is my favorite companion and ngl many of my decisions where based on whether she would approve or not.
Same with me, whenever I do something she dislikes i rush to do something she likes
was anyone jealous when you got danse's armor then he popped up with full X-01
"I don't know what to say"
"It doesn't matter"
Yea that pretty much sums up the whole game 😂
Piper's like "No more kidnappings.....no more fear...."
Yea, I am pretty sure Raiders still kidnap people and there are still plenty of things to fear in the Wastelands.
9:50
in that pause, was almost CERTAIN he was gonna say:
"As punishment, you are to go and help 10 more settlements 5 times each!!!"
My game glitched and Piper didn’t react to me blowing up the Institute until I was half way through Far Harbor’s story
Codsworth has a good point. The list of genuinely helpful organizations in the fallout universe is pretty slim. But there are some, The Followers of the Apocalypse, the Minutemen, etc. But the most malignant ones seem to be the ones most able to gain power.
"...And the people of the Commonwealth slept soundly; for the greatest monster was gone."
Nick Valentine
SS: *Didn't issue evacuation order*
Preston: "Damn it, General! That's another settlement for you! Here, I'll mark it on your map. You know what to do."
Fun fact: if you finish with the minute men and visit the prydwn than the knights and soldiers will say,” huh I didn’t expect the minutemen to be capable of something like this” or ,” should’ve been the brother hood who got to defeat them” and the best one is,” as controversial as it is I’m glad you did it with the minute men to avoid brother hood casualties” it’s actually pretty funny to do that
Does the BOS accept you in even after that?
Ah shit you pissed the Garvey, man. Now he is going to overflow you with settlements in need of assistance.
Like this one here
*I'll mark it on your map. Forever*
The institute has it coming their actions it led to their place to be destroyed.
Thx for the in sight I now know from this video what I have to do for my game and will do that when I come across that mission. And if I don't any fractions to turn on each other I won't go round taking stuff unless it shows green. Once again thx for the in sight.
When the instutete stoped considering people as people, that was my main problem.
