    Dave is the real deal. Knows more about diet than every PHD doc you interviewed.

      Totally. Dave is definitely is the real deal. He really knows his stuff. It is funny that you mentioned him knowing more than the doctors featured on the show in the past. Dave had an MD on his show last week and it was obvious that he knew more than the doc. Like WAY more. The doctor was actually leaning more on bro science than actual science when Dave kind of pushed him. Dave should have stuck it out at medical school. Although, if he had done that, we probably wouldn't have him in the bodybuilding world today..and that would suck. Without a doubt, he is the best source of knowledge we have.

      Michael R. Exactly. I saw the episode with the Greek doc. Politely disagreed on some stuff. Anyway why does Ben Keep saying "simple" about what Dave said. Simplifying complex science is what makes coaches great at what they do. People that one talk about specific details are actually not seeing the bigger picture.

    I have been doing keto. Love it! Sleeping better. More energy. Blood pressure is way down! But my body looks flat. Not liking that. How to stay full while on keto?

      You need carbs to fill the muscle. Cyclical keto.

    The comment around 32 min regarding endurance is being challenged by endurance athletes who are running marathons in ketosis. Apparently fat is a great fuel source for marathon runners. Dr Joe Mercola interviewed someone on this fairly recently. The interview is on his youtube channel.

    The Standard Ketogenic Diet approach would be to standardize your protein, standardize your carbs and manipulate your fat for satiety. So comparing these two approaches will give you a minimum intake of fat and carbs on either diet, like say 50g fat and 20g carbs. Then, an obese dieter with insulin control issues would eat higher fat and keep their carbs low, and a leaner body builder would have more flexibility and be able to eat more carbs and not need to eat as much fat.
    If you eat 20g carbs and get into ketosis, you feel great. If you eat 150g carbs and get out of ketosis, you may also feel great. It is those transitions or bouncing back and forth, or trying to just eat carbs in that middle zone that is challenging.

    • @traingear9578
      @traingear9578 6 лет назад +4

      DDIESEL, Dave did touch on it slightly.. basically by saying "keto" just means your brain is using Ketones instead of glucose for fuel . so no matter if your running high protein lower fat or vice versa does not matter, keto is keto based on the fuel your brain is using.
