I'm 26min in. This is the 1st podcast I've heard from you Ben and I am extremely impressed at how you question him without coming off rude. The "fiber" study, the vegetables comment and the "industrial topic". Love the dialogue. When I'm done listening to this I'll check out your other poscats and if this is the trend of how you interview and talk then you just gained one more fan/follower/Listener!!

DOC_ DARK1985 He dismissed the "fiber" study because? Feelings? How bout when he said you're missing micronutrients not eating fiber. There are no nutrients micro or macro in fiber. But yeah. He is a terrible interviewer. He's giving a speech, about himself no less. I also love when he says start with fiber, then gives water and ACV as an example. Neither is fiber. #fiberzealot

I'm going into my third year on the nutritional keto diet. Contrary to what is commonly assumed I have not lost any significant muscle mass.
My diet is about 70% fats, 20% proteins, and 10% carbohydrates. I eat lots of green leafy vegetables which are low in carbs, high in fiber and they are sources of nitrates for the body to produce nitric oxide.
The satiety state in spite of not eating for hours and mental clarity have been benefiting from the diet. I try to maintain an intake of protein sufficient for muscle protein synthesis and to avoid more than necessary which may result in breaking me out of nutritional ketosis.

Great podcast, Ben! Can't wait to see more about building muscle on Keto and your progress with lowering fat to lean out more. I've been doing keto carnivore bout 6 months now. Been experimenting with certain veggies bc of anti nutrients. Anyway, have you considered Shawn Baker as a guest?

I’m a older cyclist, (59 yrs old) who has went low carb due to autoimmune issues, (nothing major but some things I wanted to get a handle on) and noticed soreness and recovery times improved after hard workouts. But my question is - is this due to not being able to stress the muscle as much due to the lack of glycogen stores or is there an actual improvement of recovery due to the high fat/low carb diets? I’ve noticed, like you pointed out, that lactic acid build up is practically nonexistent while fueling low carb - is this due to the lacking ability to train at the higher level of intensity or for other reasons? And ultimately - is the muscle stress/fatigue the same, and adaption potential the same, or better, (or worse) training low carb vs high carb? PS - my goal would be endurance and speed - (events lasting 2 hours or more).

Thanks for a great podcast. You guys are awesome. I've done keto for about 2yrs and it got me leaner alot easier. I started this because I was hit head on in 2010 and I've had 11 surgeries since, I'm permanently om crutches if I have to be on my feet long, I've had 3 discs in my neck fused and l4-l5 as well. I still have discus breaking down and constantly fighting syatic pain, I still hit the gym 6 days a week but my training is nothing compared to what it used to be. It has definitely helped with inflammation. I had another foot surgery last summer and unfortunately its left me worse off, but I fell off of keto and out of the gym for 4-5 months. Came back the end of February and since then every week my muscles have been filling back out and hardening up. I've often wondered about trying some fast acting carbs before training. I've tried the exogenous ketones and I don't feel any more of energy burst but with the constant pain I fight daily I can't find much that does..lol. I'm glad I finally gave keto a try tho, at one point I had was up to 340lbs and last summer I was at 174lbs. Hope one day I can train at ur gym, absolutely love the equipment you have. Thanks for all the great content you put out.

What’s your thoughts on my ability to burn fat ! It’s taking ages , been doing it wouldn’t say super strictly but I’m not eating all the bread , rice pasta and cakes anymore . But on occasion had the odd bit .
I’ve been having to much sugar over the years , biscuits cakes etc ... I would say for 15 years . My weight seems stuck on 104-7 lbs . I was a former athlete and I want to get back to 89-90kg that was my competition weight when I was 25-35 now 51 but I’m fit strong can bench 70 kg run 13-15 on the treadmill . So frustrating.
Bought my insulin sugar monitor ! And have my
Not oil , Doing the coffee and vinegar recipes in the morning , and also able to fast from 14-28 hours which was my longest . I feel great ! But it’s so slow I’m very muscular as a former female athlete 5’11 . Crap at counting my Micro’s , but I’m using a app asm it’s showing I’m always about 2000 calories give it take and carbs are about 112-134 a day . Although they were awful yesterday 😂
