    this is probably the hundredth time I've heard Stan talk about the vertical diet, but he goes quite a bit more in depth and details in this podcast than anywhere else I've heard.

    That comment about not knowing how bad you feel because you always feel that way is 100% true. I started following the vertical diet about 2 weeks ago, and now when I eat a whole pack of biscuits in a row, I almost immediately notice all the negative effects. It's like going from 100% healthy to having a cold. I never noticed how well the diet was working until I broke it

    When the iodine he is talking about to feel better. Is that iodine salt? I’ve heard in another talk from Stan , people feel better w half a spoon of salt or salt tablet. Is that iodine salt ? Or just iodine separate ? Do I even make sense? Lol

    • @johnking6727

      Himalayan salt. Also take iodine supplement every day made from sea plants. Iodine and seleniun very important for healthy thyroid

    So Stan if my pee is clear then I’m most likely mineral deficient? I should take in a packet of salt after every 40 minutes that I pee?

    Just a note: 110 grams of protein required, about 7 grams per ounce, 16oz of meat would push you just above that requirement.

    • @zenashealingcircle5984
      @zenashealingcircle5984 5 лет назад

      1 ounce of meat in general is 5 grams of protein some are a little higher but 5 is a good rule of thumb

    This was great and really interesting. A bit of a different school of thought on red meat in terms of digestion...I’d be interested to know Stan’s take on the advice to avoid red meat for someone with IBD. I’ve avoided it for 10 years, but the research and this discussion makes me want to do a bit more research !

    • @bigmarv333
      @bigmarv333 6 лет назад +4

      Jessica Morreale I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at one point and I was recommended to stay away from red meat. This was a blanket recommendation to all with the disease. I found later, after avoiding it for a long time, that other factors were the culprit behind my aggravation of symptoms. The vegetable oils, the processed carbs (especially mixed in with those oils). Try introducing small amounts and see how it affects you. Start with leaner cuts as well. I love a ribeye but do better with sirloin for optimum digestion.

    • @jmo33
      @jmo33 6 лет назад +3

      MARVIN FERGUSON JR I have been very slowly reintroducing in that way and can’t even tell you how happy I am to hear your take - feels like validation! I very much agree with your theory. I will keep experimenting carefully. UC ad Crohn’s too so thank you for replying!

      If you really listen to all the stuff he says, people have IBD for other reasons and when people get the micronutrients he recommends and stay away from the broccoli and vegetable oils etc then they don't have issues like they did before

    He says about coffee? But doesn't he recommend Caffine after the workout?

    • @Moving2Korea
      @Moving2Korea 5 лет назад

      That's especially a bad idea. You can have a little before to help energize you. I would avoid it even preworkout if you workout later in the day.

    • @daviddishongh5310
      @daviddishongh5310 5 лет назад +3

      100 mg caffeine after workout is what he recommends because of the increase in recovery, you don't want to be dependent on caffeine during your workout or when you're waking up - if you're tired you have other issues you need to address instead of covering it up with caffeine
