Thanks for the awesome interview with Stan!! His podcasts and his personal advice he gave me over the years has been monumental for my fat loss, nutrition, hobby bodybuilding success. I am forever thankful. The big 3 for me were Jeff from Athlean X, Stan, and John Meadows (RIP) for training. All three have always spoke the truth, focused on longevity and not getting hurt while being successful in diet and fitness.
Being really lean now, I follow the vertical diet pretty well, with a little customization of my own. But if you take care of the micros and the macros it’s an amazing program for all of us. From strongman to soccer mom. Great stuff! Stan needs to get way more credit in my opinion.
If anyone wants to lose weight and still stay strong, 100 percent of you switch to lean London broil steaks (preferably) and 98 lean ground Turkey (sorry Stan I know it’s not as nutrient dense lol) you can get away with a TON of food, due to the thermic affect he talks about. It’s so true. I eat a lot and I’m still losing weight. Good luck all with your goals! Follow Stan and you won’t be led astray!!

I started my fitness journey 4 months ago and went from walking to running. Now I run 5 mi everyday and I absolutely love it. It isn't grueling. I feel like I need it in order to feel my best. Lots of opinions.

I like a lot of Stans info.
I think that some people can eat a lot more carbs than others and not gain waist size.
All that rice and potatoes can convert to bodyfat easily in some people and some people not.

With all due respect, how does a 200+ pound male consume 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight from whole foods and not have a 'high' saturated fat intake? I haven't come across a single practical example of how this can be accomplished.

    • @kiiteecali

In addition to lean red meat, one can consume lean proteins by way of fish and lean poultry without adding excessive saturated fat.

McDonald's diet wouldn't work. It's too high calorie to get enough protein. Each meal is like 1000 kcal so you'd only be eating two of them a day and you wouldn't be getting enough protein let alone enough essential vitamins and minerals. You'd be hungry, tired, have poor sleep, wouldn't workout as much or as affectively and probably get sick. You could lose weight but it would be mostly muscle and you'd feel like shit!
