    THANK YOU. Clearly such an effect is possible in Eevee, but only through a bunch of nodes and sliders, whereas in Cycles, it's a simple as selecting a dedicated shader for it. After all this time, why haven't Blender devs cooked up a simple toon shader for Eevee???

    • @JSAbbott
      @JSAbbott  6 месяцев назад

      You are welcome.
      The developers are actually working on an upgrade for Eevee right now. I don't know if a toon shader will be included but you can always put in a request (blender.community/c/rightclickselect/?sorting=hot).

    Hi. I have a legitimate question but first, thanks for your tutus and great simple content. I have a very limited hardware in performance, I can works on Blender since it is very friendly with that. But rendering and prerendering specially with light and shadows is another story. I tried your method and realize that shadows can be disabled on the lights and the result is very, very Nice, so I ask: it is more "easy" for any hardware, to render nodes as those, without real shadows on it? Or with shadows at almost minimum quality but only unsing the difuser shadder and a hdri that helps me with ilumination? Thanks again. Cheers!

    • @JSAbbott
      @JSAbbott  2 года назад +2

      Thanks!
      It really comes down to the hardware you are using.
      With that being said, any time you add more stuff (like real shadows) to a render, it will take up more RAM and mean a larger file size. You can use tricks to make a render look nice even if you don't use shadows.

      @@JSAbbott I've successfully lit the toon shader - with Eevee it works fine, although the shader doesn't work in Cycles correctly. I realised the problem looks to be that the "shader to RBG" node isn't available in Cycles.

  • @daemondoodles
    @daemondoodles 2 года назад

    Do you just do this with every part of every model's mesh or can you make it like, a universal thing? Because the models I downloaded have like 32 parts and it seems _exhausting_ to do this for just one of them, and much more for a whole scene with over 2 characters....
    Edit: Especially since they already have entire materials and going through all the parts of them by hand does not sound appealing.

    • @JSAbbott
      @JSAbbott  2 года назад +1

      The only way to avoid what you are talking about is by joining part of the model together. 3D modeling takes time and effort so don't let that dissuade you.

      @daemondoodles 2 года назад +1

    • @ricowreck6350
      @ricowreck6350 2 года назад

      I'm not entirely sure what you mean but I think you can just apply a material to one of the objects then select all the objects you want with the same material and make sure the original object with the material is the last to be selected (it will have a different highlight colour around it) and then press ctrl+L and then choose "Link Materials"
