This man did not just make me watch a 10 min video about manga spine designs and left entertained and satisfied You sold me when you referenced Golden Kamuy
Manga spines are best when they change color every couple of volumes, or perhaps every arc. also that vagabond mural is amazing holy, i wish more manga would do that
For me, PunPun's spine designs are my favourite. The spines match in a diagonal descending line with an outline of the birdy boy himself. The changing colours is amazing as well
Love to see more appreciation of Goodnight Punpun. One of the best "coming-of-age"/take on childhood to adulthood stories I've come across any medium, period. Inio Asano is also an insanely brave author for tackling taboo subject matters in such brutely honest and intimate fashion. It must be hard to recommend you any new manga to read since you seem to have devoured so much of it. Memories of Emanon, Homunculus, Ultra Heaven, Freesia perhaps are title obscure enough that you haven't come across. As always, enjoying the shit out of your content.
Need more of that riveting minesweeper gameplay. For real tho, this was another banger of a video, can't wait to eventually brag over how I found your channel and started watching Seamoore vids before it was cool >:3
Punpun 6 is a Missprint!! I bought a newer print and it has punpun's silhouette super clear!! I kept the missprinted one too cuz yeah, its cool to think it was meant to be like that. Also, THANK YOU for making this video, I love it, spines are Very important, and what you said about My Hero spines is what i've been thinking for aaages, just a mess lol
Fuck yeah, it's amazing to see you upload. So much passion and effort into one of my favorite genres of media. It's a real rare find on youtube, especially when it comes to manga. Keep up the good work, I'm rooting for you
WOAH i don't usually make comments that often but i really really felt the need to point out how amazed i am at the quality and effort put into the editing of this video. So awesome! I'm glad youtube recommended me your channel
Bro this video is the best. While working on my first BIG cover art project for a manga, I came across this vid. This really helped shed light on the least noticed portion of the cover design--the SPINE! And of course, it should be just as important as the front cover from a shopping perspective. Thank you for your insight!
For months I’ve been doing research to simply discover cool artwork on designs n detail like the covers / spines n ect n there isn’t enough content , n finally this pops of on my feed this is exactly what I was looking for I need more 🙏
I'm so glad there are people in the world who care so much about the "completely unimportant, yet necessary for my mental wellbeing" topics as much as I do. Vertical media just lives in my pants rent-free.
I personally love One Piece volume covers and spines. They're so colorful and expressive. And then the "One Piece" title is uniformly colored to separate each saga. Also your goodnight punpun spine breakdown made me tear up 💀
hey not sure if you've read it but i've been doing some reading lately and i thoroughly recommend this manga called shiori experience. it's a series about musicians and the joys and suffering they experience when perfecting their craft. i feel it's very relatable for creatives!! the art, especially the spreads is bloody amazing and has given me chills. it's even brought me to tears once or twice. give it a shot!
I saw something shocking in the store the other day and I had to revisit this video to comment about it. Apparently, the spine of Punpun volume 6 being solid black was an error in the first editions, and not a design choice. A new printing has been recently released, and they have the outline restored on volume 6.
This is the kind of content I can really agree with. It's also the kind of content I would be swayed away from making because I would be CONVINCED no one would watch it and no one feels as strongly about the spines of entertainment as I do. Can we TALK about the spines for the DBZ VHS series? My GOD they were fantastic.
Checked the channel because you got me interested in Oyasumi Punpun with the edits. Stayed because I watched this video. I will now watch over you with great interest. :)
Hey man, I've binged your entire channel and I wanna say, I love it. Keep up the great work I am 10,000% sure you can make it big one day, your channel is entertaining, funny, and I love your editing style. Also great manga takes, if you wanna read a good lesser known manga I recommend Ichigeki, it's about edo period peasants who get enlisted and trained to becoming Samurais, the art could use some work at time but I loved the story and action.
The D.Gray-Man Japanese volume spines are awesome. They are changing from black to white and back to black again. It perfectly shows the core principles of the story and it's artistic style 🤩
I'm surprised you didn't add Dragon Ball, I have all tomes and it was such a joy putting them all together, tho I guess Vagabond did the same so it didn't make sense to put it here haha. Also just found your channel is amazing
have you ever read girls last tour? i didnt see it in your collection, i really love this serie, if you have nothing to read i highly advise you to try it out! also, i dont know about the english edition but the japanese looks sick
My favorite spines are Assassination Classroom. It shows the color o Koro sensei's expression. Reflecting how fun the series are. Also NO students were left out in one episode. Every students in class 3E were so important for just one episode
+1 for fire punch Oyasumi Punpun is my top 1 of all time (even above berserker and vagabond), but maybe that's just me. I really like your taste dude, I'm so exited to see that list finished. PS: If you are open for new manga recommendations, I would suggest Dungeon Meshi. The begging seems like the story is kinda weak, but the development is just amazing.
Se vc gosta de ouvir discussao sobre Punpun, tem um podcast do Kitsune (Kitsune da Semana!) onde ele trata de cada volumo (em andamento todavia). Achei bacana !
This whole channel is so underrated. The content here is so rich and entertaining. So much so that I've found myself binging the videos on this channel. I hope you keep making more, man. I love all of this
I love the punpun spine so much, my friend has them all and she was kind enough to let me borrow each one to read. One day i want to have the collection for myself but the 12 japanese volumes of punpun have such fun colorful designs. The only full set of manga I have is Bakuman which has a fairly normal spin dawning a white background with the logo and a different character on what you call the thumbnail.
100% agree i love spines, the assassination classroom ones are great too, and kaiji and jojo, and even tho not connected to eachother the junji ito ones always pop x) fuck wish i had more money :,^)
Love your videos. Also thanks for another manga suggestions for your followers :) I've started to read manga from All You Need Is Kill (mostly because of Edge of Tomorrow), then Dorohedoro (thanks to the anime adaptation, was too curious, how the story will continue), then Fujimoto stories (love all of them) and now I've come to Jigokuraku (Hell's Paradise) - manga from the Fujimoto's assistant, who he worked with on FP. Not sure, if you've heard about it and read it, but it's definitely worth to read :) I hope, that you will find it really good and share some of your thoughts about it in the future.
This channel is criminally underrated
u took the words right out of my mouth
You can say that again
i agree
This man did not just make me watch a 10 min video about manga spine designs and left entertained and satisfied

Ikr great video

ouuuuuu :o, only read Homunculus out of these but i just read their descriptions and im loving the sound of Freesia! thanks!!
@@SeamooreManga A Distant Neighborhood by Jiro Taniguchi, a bit on the older side, is relatively short and worth checking out.
totally agree, emanon gave me huge punpun vibes!
Need more of that riveting minesweeper gameplay.

Another great video on something that isn't discussed very often on RUclips. Nice job
Can't wait for the next video keep it up.
Man, You're good at making videos. I thought I was watching someone with atleast 500k subs, yet you only have 1.8k I'm subbing. Good Content.
Surprised you didn't talk about Viz perfect editions - those are pretty neat.
More minesweeper footage pls
Dude your videos are hella being screwed over by the algorithm. You deserve so much more.
volume 6 was actually just a misprint with the first batch, they fixed it quite soon after you can reorder to finish the spine
Yeah but the way he interpreted it was pretty good too
I can't believe I blindly based the entire thesis of this video on a misprint..... you just blew my mind ngl
@@SeamooreManga still a good interpretation of it tho lmao

the quality of your videos are incredible, can’t believe how underrated you are-
This video was so aesthetically pleasing. Keep up the good work. ♡
