Im imagining a scene that plays out kind of like a horror reveal. Like someone going into his lab looking for him only to find the glasses on the table, the person deciding as a goof to put on the glasses while they wait only to be greeted by tias voice and the uncanny valley version of her personality, then panning out and seeing apollo standing behind the person looking all intimidating and the shot cuts. Then when the scene fades back in Apollo is just on his knees crying and begging for the person to not tell anyone, just being kind of pathetic and desperate. I love a pathetic man

I can't stop rewatching this video. I don't know what it is, but every time I rewatch it, I see some neat little detail I miss, some cool edit I like, a new method I wanna incorporate into my art, just something new every time. I usually get tired of the repetitiveness, but with these sketchbook art progress videos, I just find myself captivated and in love with June's art, it really makes me wanna get out fine liners and just play around in the paper. I like to imagine that if he ever does get his wife back she comes back completely normal but hes irreversibly changed and thinks she's a 'fake' bc he started to mistake some of the ai mannerisms for the real one.
The page on focus around the 10 minute mark is sorta doing something to my brain. I’m a creative writer at this point, but my dream has always kind of been in the realm of comics or animation. Having no art talent, it’s kind of inspiring to see something like that, where a dynamic pose or character design starts as a simple blob of color. I haven’t found a satisfying avenue of digital art yet, but I did like drawing analog. Might be the kind of inspiration I need to do this with my own OCs. Thanks!

Creating a character solely based on your favorite self-indulgent tropes is literally the BEST way to get invested in your OCs though! I have this one character I created who I won't go into detail on because then I'll be here forever XD But I basically put every dumb trope I love into him and he's quickly become my favorite character to draw within the universe I've created ^^
I also coincidentally have a scientist OC named Apollo who also lost someone dear to him and also presents himself as very collected and in control but has moments where he slips and it becomes clear he is also very much not okay and could really do with a hug. Small world.
Can't wait for that angst moment in which in which Apollo loses his glasses and some one ends up putting them on only to discover Apollo's deepest secret

As soon as you mentioned PRISM after saying how mentally unwell this man is... my thoughts went to *VILLAIN* No pressure tho, its just the way you talked about him, the pining after his wife, angsting over this cardboard copy of her and making sure nobody ever finds out about it *especially his daughter* . the final moment of his villain defeat where he breaks down and admits he was wrong, that he needs help and he has to get that help for himself and *the sake of his daughter* , frothing at the mouth just thinking about it I love compelling narrative arcs so bad!
That idea of the ai taking on the appearance of Tia because Apollo wanted to see her again made me cry. You’re ideas are always amazing but this one really hit me for some reason reason.
Ough hearing about Apollo’s backstory is everything I needed here, honestly. And hearing about the creative process that got him to where he is is genuinely so refreshing and fun. Thank you for sharing so much about him, can’t wait to see what else you end up doing with him!

Nah I agree! A big part of the reason the pikachu video isn’t finished is because we put hundreds of not thousands of hours into it just for me to realize it was just miserable to watch. Really really proud of myself for getting to where I am now!

I can't stop rewatching this video. I don't know what it is, but every time I rewatch it, I see some neat little detail I miss, some cool edit I like, a new method I wanna incorporate into my art, just something new every time. I usually get tired of the repetitiveness, but with these sketchbook art progress videos, I just find myself captivated and in love with June's art, it really makes me wanna get out fine liners and just play around in the paper.

But watching this video, hearing more about the process, and his lore made me immediately get it. That backstory actually made me physically react, like WOW. The page on focus around the 10 minute mark is sorta doing something to my brain. I’m a creative writer at this point, but my dream has always kind of been in the realm of comics or animation. Having no art talent, it’s kind of inspiring to see something like that, where a dynamic pose or character design starts as a simple blob of color. I haven’t found a satisfying avenue of digital art yet, but I did like drawing analog. Might be the kind of inspiration I need to do this with my own OCs. Thanks!

Creating a character solely based on your favorite self-indulgent tropes is literally the BEST way to get invested in your OCs though! I have this one character I created who I won't go into detail on because then I'll be here forever XD But I basically put every dumb trope I love into him and he's quickly become my favorite character to draw within the universe I've created ^^

Nah I agree! A big part of the reason the pikachu video isn’t finished is because we put hundreds of not thousands of hours into it just for me to realize it was just miserable to watch. Really really proud of myself for getting to where I am now!
