I love the glow artists give off when they start being selfish and pursuing random interests on impulse and letting them be forgotten if they feel like doing something else. Sure, it is counterintuitive to building a profitable IP or whatever but it is SO MUCH FUN when you're caught up in the flow like that!

As a Jojos fan, i can say that the stand you came up with for Quarry works perfectly as an actual stand, stands aren’t required to have a whole person as their form and some don’t even *have* spectral forms, so a bird/semisentient arrow is totally viable and could reaonably be a canon stand (and i LOVE it also) (one guy’s stand is just straight up a gun. not a spectral gun. just. A Gun. one that he can summon and control the bullets of, but. appearance-wise it is JUST a gun.)
actually, one guy’s stand doesn’t even TAKE a form, it’s just an ability that he HAS there’s a lot of freedom with the possibilities, there’s no real wrong way to come up with a stand

Love the art and the story! Lots of fun found family vibes from Quarry and Later :D Also using the highlighters to block out a silhouette before drawing the lines is such a cool idea! I should try that sometime :D

Okay, but something like this kind of happened to me. I'm part of a club at my college and one of our former members designed anthropromorphic characters for everyone. So I got in the habit of drawing them for funny jokes (because trying to draw actual people scares me) and now I have a catalogue of anthro art on my iPad

You have sent me on a 4 hour journey scouring every biology site, blog, paper, book, and blurb I could find, only to find out that THERE ISN’T A SPECIFIC WORD FOR A PARASITIC ANIMAL THAT MAY OCCASIONALLY BENEFIT THE HOST, BECAUSE BIOLOGY IS STUPID Ox Peckers and Rhinos perform a type of Symbiotic Relationship called Diffuse Mutualism (also known as protocooperation), which means that they may benefit each other, but they can survive without the aid of the other. The caveat, is that Oxpeckers can often be categorized as Cheaters (yes. that’s the scientific term. I hate it.) in the context of Mutualism, because while they benefit from eating parasites off of rhinos, they may skip benefiting the rhino from removing parasites and instead pick at scabs to access blood or flesh from the rhino, typically more so with the Red-billed Oxpecker than the Yellow-billed Oxpecker. Oxpeckers also often help rhinoceroses by alerting them of predators. As rhino populations decrease and oxpeckers have less access to large mammals, they have developed a warning call in which they alert the rhino of an incoming predator roughly 77% of the time a predator approaches. This is mutually beneficial by keeping the rhinoceroses alive by warning of danger, and giving the oxpeckers more food to eat with more rhinos to feast from. Honestly watching you embrace your sketchbook and studies more has been so motivating. I get scared that if I spend too much time doing studies I’ll miss out on something so it’s really calming to see other artist actually taking their time with it.
the ENTIRE time they were showing off the robotic drawings they were doing for practise I was just going "Did they draw Bumnlebee? True. But the real goldmine is the process itself that it took into making it, not the book itself. Anyone that want's to be true artist, can't rely on the art they see themselves, they go to do the work, as she did. Having the book is more of a reward and reflection of what went into making it. The best part is, the skill learned by making it. Anyone trying to learn this, should take inspiration from her work efforts, and make their own. And I too, envy her hunger for studies also. Is very important to have that hunger. A hunger that hopefully will never be sedated.

It’s straight up Not Good (tm), but it introduces a very central antagonist, one helpful faction that gets mentioned a lot and one magic system that will become underutilized that’s NOT the Stands. If you watch it just keep in mind things get better after every part / season. But Part 1 is going to be a slog. Part 2 is better part 1 but still no stands. Part 3 is what people think of when they talk about jojo, here begin the stands. And funny Ora Ora man.

It kinda gets clumped together with Part 2 when it comes to the anime - you'll know the Part has changed when the protagonist switches to another one JJBA is a fairly old series, so it can feel the part at first Part 1 is like an older classic kind of anime, except it moves quite fast. Part 2 has a lot of humorous things to itself - some stuff might be a bit 'Huh??' but just push through, it's got good qualities. And then from Part 3 onward the Stands come into the series, and it's a wild ride from there

Especially back in the days me and my friends drew manga together. I recently got back into drawing because I drew a yakuza-style back tattoo for friend of mine.

drawing traditionally is genuinely such a creative outlet for me…I’ve filled up almost three sketchbooks in the past few months because I can be messy and colorful and just have fun
First time watcher, I really enjoy seeing how an artists goes about creating something. All the prep work to get to the final product of an original character. I don't know why but I just assumed artists just jumped to the final version because they had it all in their head. That's why I always thought I wasn't that great at drawing because I couldn't just pop something out like that first try. But I also don't have the time to draw that much. but that's really cool.

As someone else with AuDHD, this is honestly a really great breakdown of how to approach art! Part of the thing that I struggle with for art is just figuring out what to practice and what to draw. It's also nice to hear when you were procrastinating, as that might help me find the signs on how to stop it (emphasis on might.) Side note, the idea thay popped into my head for the prompt would have been them with a greatbow. But like, big enough to practically be a ballista with the force it can output. The horn bow is fucking sick though!

My freshman year of HS my art teacher, let’s call him Mr. B, was an amazing dude who encouraged all forms of art. We had two sketchbooks for the class (that he paid for OUT OF POCKET) one for class assignments and the other for free time use (basically anything that wasn’t an assignment for the class). As long as you finished your assigned work for the day, he couldn’t care less what you drew (as long as it was deemed ‘school appropriate’ so like no guns or nudes). We had one girl who was OBSESSED with Pokémon. Do every chance she got that was what she drew. Turns out Mr. B was also a major Pokémon nerd. Someone called her a furry and then we had to awkwardly explain to a thirty five year old man what a furry was. In the end I still don’t think he understood lmao. One guy in our class really liked fishing so he got really good at drawing fish. Hope you’re doing well Mr. B you were the first art teacher who didn’t bore me to death. ✌️
the bird honestly could work like an actual stand, i mean stads can be almost anything if you put your mind to it. i love that Big Q is just a gentle giant of a man, makes me think of how Rhinos in Zoos are basically just big puppies (they even get the zoomies)

Please draw the Second Page that is SO CLEAR inside your head, finalize it, go ALL OUT, and then turn the First Page into an Art Challenge for another YT Collab! That way you can get other people to feel your pain lol. Just draw a Character Sheet for all relevant characters and it'll be good to go. I love these characters, this world, and the collabs that have happened already. Also, this is why furries are cool. It's just another way to design a person but it appeals to people who adore animals lol plus it blends beautifully with extreme stylization of the human form. It's just another way to cook. Also also, seeing your Robot Ixi art made me realize Archie Reboot Clove and Cassia had a good chance of being inspired by Neopets lol. I should've picked up on that sooner but it just didn't dawn on me. And it was some cute art btw! I'm sorry yours didn't get picked.

Ok. Dude. You have sent me on a 4 hour journey scouring every biology site, blog, paper, book, and blurb I could find, only to find out that THERE ISN’T A SPECIFIC WORD FOR A PARASITIC ANIMAL THAT MAY OCCASIONALLY BENEFIT THE HOST, BECAUSE BIOLOGY IS STUPID
Ox Peckers and Rhinos perform a type of Symbiotic Relationship called Diffuse Mutualism (also known as protocooperation), which means that they may benefit each other, but they can survive without the aid of the other. The caveat, is that Oxpeckers can often be categorized as Cheaters (yes. that’s the scientific term. I hate it.) in the context of Mutualism, because while they benefit from eating parasites off of rhinos, they may skip benefiting the rhino from removing parasites and instead pick at scabs to access blood or flesh from the rhino, typically more so with the Red-billed Oxpecker than the Yellow-billed Oxpecker.
Oxpeckers also often help rhinoceroses by alerting them of predators. As rhino populations decrease and oxpeckers have less access to large mammals, they have developed a warning call in which they alert the rhino of an incoming predator roughly 77% of the time a predator approaches. This is mutually beneficial by keeping the rhinoceroses alive by warning of danger, and giving the oxpeckers more food to eat with more rhinos to feast from.
While it can be construed that the Oxpecker and the Rhino can have a parasitic relationship, I’ve encountered the fact that while an Oxpecker is often a Diffuse Parasite that can injure its host rhino, the host rhino is not affected by it enough to cause any real damage. This means that they display more commensalism, because the Oxpecker is benefited while the rhino is largely unaffected. There has even been speculation that oxpeckers will ONLY peck at sites with abnormal skin growth, which suggests it may be a deliberate defense against infection or gangrene rot on the rhino’s skin by removing anything that may cause damage if left untreated.
I spent way too much time researching this. I just wanted a definition like “A symbiotic relationship in which one species both benefits AND harms another species is called a sympathetic communalism :)” but noooo biology had to go and be stupid by having the definition of every other symbiotic relationship imaginable EXCEPT for a relationship that often switches between mutualism and parasitism, with the closest possible instance being cheaters in diffuse mutualism. Grr.

the ENTIRE time they were showing off the robotic drawings they were doing for practise I was just going "Did they draw Bumnlebee? Did they draw Bumblebee? did they draw Bumb-" and then ACTUALLY seeing him on a page was a jumpscare and a half cuz I wasn't expecting it

True. But the real goldmine is the process itself that it took into making it, not the book itself.
Anyone that want's to be true artist, can't rely on the art they see themselves, they go to do the work, as she did. Having the book is more of a reward and reflection of what went into making it. The best part is, the skill learned by making it. Anyone trying to learn this, should take inspiration from her work efforts, and make their own.
And I too, envy her hunger for studies also. Is very important to have that hunger. A hunger that hopefully will never be sedated.

It’s straight up Not Good (tm), but it introduces a very central antagonist, one helpful faction that gets mentioned a lot and one magic system that will become underutilized that’s NOT the Stands. If you watch it just keep in mind things get better after every part / season. But Part 1 is going to be a slog.
Part 2 is better part 1 but still no stands.
Part 3 is what people think of when they talk about jojo, here begin the stands. And funny Ora Ora man.

I'll add on a few things. Part 1 is fairly short, especially the animated variant. It kinda gets clumped together with Part 2 when it comes to the anime - you'll know the Part has changed when the protagonist switches to another one
JJBA is a fairly old series, so it can feel the part at first
Part 1 is like an older classic kind of anime, except it moves quite fast. Part 2 has a lot of humorous things to itself - some stuff might be a bit 'Huh??' but just push through, it's got good qualities. And then from Part 3 onward the Stands come into the series, and it's a wild ride from there
Huh, this is the first video of yours to pop up for me and seeing the process you went through for the rhino dude reminds me of the process I go through. I went through a LOT of sketchbooks. Especially back in the days me and my friends drew manga together. I recently got back into drawing because I drew a yakuza-style back tattoo for friend of mine.

First time watcher, I really enjoy seeing how an artists goes about creating something. All the prep work to get to the final product of an original character. I don't know why but I just assumed artists just jumped to the final version because they had it all in their head. That's why I always thought I wasn't that great at drawing because I couldn't just pop something out like that first try. But I also don't have the time to draw that much. but that's really cool.

As someone else with AuDHD, this is honestly a really great breakdown of how to approach art! Part of the thing that I struggle with for art is just figuring out what to practice and what to draw. It's also nice to hear when you were procrastinating, as that might help me find the signs on how to stop it (emphasis on might.) Side note, the idea thay popped into my head for the prompt would have been them with a greatbow. But like, big enough to practically be a ballista with the force it can output. The horn bow is fucking sick though!

My freshman year of HS my art teacher, let’s call him Mr. B, was an amazing dude who encouraged all forms of art.
We had two sketchbooks for the class (that he paid for OUT OF POCKET) one for class assignments and the other for free time use (basically anything that wasn’t an assignment for the class).
As long as you finished your assigned work for the day, he couldn’t care less what you drew (as long as it was deemed ‘school appropriate’ so like no guns or nudes).
We had one girl who was OBSESSED with Pokémon. Do every chance she got that was what she drew.
Turns out Mr. B was also a major Pokémon nerd.
Someone called her a furry and then we had to awkwardly explain to a thirty five year old man what a furry was.
In the end I still don’t think he understood lmao.
One guy in our class really liked fishing so he got really good at drawing fish.
Hope you’re doing well Mr. B you were the first art teacher who didn’t bore me to death. ✌️

the bird honestly could work like an actual stand, i mean stads can be almost anything if you put your mind to it. i love that Big Q is just a gentle giant of a man, makes me think of how Rhinos in Zoos are basically just big puppies (they even get the zoomies)

Please draw the Second Page that is SO CLEAR inside your head, finalize it, go ALL OUT, and then turn the First Page into an Art Challenge for another YT Collab! That way you can get other people to feel your pain lol. Just draw a Character Sheet for all relevant characters and it'll be good to go. I love these characters, this world, and the collabs that have happened already. Also, this is why furries are cool. It's just another way to design a person but it appeals to people who adore animals lol plus it blends beautifully with extreme stylization of the human form. It's just another way to cook.
Also also, seeing your Robot Ixi art made me realize Archie Reboot Clove and Cassia had a good chance of being inspired by Neopets lol. I should've picked up on that sooner but it just didn't dawn on me. And it was some cute art btw! I'm sorry yours didn't get picked.
