30 day challenges are always very intimidating to me because of the "time limit" so seeing this does put a smile on my face 🥺 I love the grouchy potential dilf but the pieces are all very inspiring! makes me want to take on one to improve my art

My adhd makes me meltdown from time limits too, so I got by the checklist idea - it’s not 30 days, it’s do/finish this checklist of 30 things. Completely frees up my mind, and I end up finishing early usually haha.

at University, our lecturers told us something really useful that I think would be useful for you? “You can never master anything in art because there’s always something more to learn” which was something that I found helped me with my art because I was also, a perfectionist who wanted to ‘master’ everything.

I wish I was confident enough in my art to do a 30-day challenge. I probably should do one, just so I could actually improve my art and my confidence.
Honestly, do it. You don’t even have to put it online, it can just be a fun little thing to do for yourself!
you don't have to be confident to do an art challenge! it doesn't have to be super perfect or anything, especially if it's for improvement~ it might even be good coz if you constrict yourself to only working on a prompt for a day, you won't be able to dwell on it for a long time
It can help you get into a habit of pushing through you doubt, try it!(I never finish it either)
Both harsh and comforting, a double-edged sword, no one's gonna care as much as you do, so JUST GO FOR IT!
(Hardest part is usually just starting and then knowing when to finish)
If you want to do an easy-ish anime human drawing/sketching challenge, I can recommend the 30-day quick sketch anime people art challenge by the youtuber Art Senpai. It’s probably a good exercise for beginners because it’s supposed to be a quick sketch for 30 minutes and not a full drawing, and he posts reference images and his own sketches and you can see other people‘s work in the google drive folder. I do it too (didn’t upload yet tho, I restarted the challenge yesterday bc I kinda misunderstood what a quick sketch was) and it’s nice.
THE MERE FACT YOU HAVE THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF BRAIN ROT THAT I DO OF AKANE AND JUNPEI AND THE ZERO ESCAPE SERIES AS A WHOLE IS SO REASSURING!!! Also your art is such a major inspiration and I understand how it feels to be a perfectionist when it comes to every aspect. I think everybody in the comments section as well as your friends would agree when I say it's beautiful and lovely and that you are doing the best you can!

I've never been able to finish one of these 30 day challenges. Even though I nearly draw multiple times every day, something about having to make a completed illustration every day for that long is so fucking hArd
And even though I knoooww it technically doesn't need to be a completely finished drawing I simply ✨*pressure myself*✨ into it
maybe set a time for drawing and do some over 2-4 days? it's about the journey, not the conclusion (as a fellow perfectionist, I freaking feel you lmao)

I found a good rhythm doing two a day but part of the week when i did a challenge. Like June said it's no fun being too strict.

Okay, honestly, this video gets me a step closer to feeling comfortable enough to do one of these challenges. I freaking HATE timed challenges like these so seeing June take their time regardless has unlocked an "oh wait, I could also do that" in me LMAO
This gives me motivation to do a 30 day challenge! I've always been deterred because "I WONT be able to finish it in 30 days. I dont have THAT much motivation to draw every single day." But this just tells me, take your time. You dont have a time limit. Even if you do 1 prompt a month, that's fine. I've been meaning to get back into art, and this really gives me motivation :)
This has given me the motivation to finish my 30 day MerMay challenge! I had been struggling with it for a while.
I find comfort in the fact that you didn’t stick to just 30 days. It really soothes my anxiety over the ‘time limit’ aspect of the challenge. :)
You mentioned wanting to draw something but not being able to get away with it for a video a few times but honestly, we’re here for your art, and your art is at its best when you enjoy it. I think you should totally draw whatever y want and make that into the videos.

Honestly I feel the slow love for backgrounds. I’ve been doing background-based projects for school, and both the time difference and amount of love I have for my first and last pieces is LARGE.
I want to congratulate on moving past being a slightly generic anime girl and into being a strangely intimidating eyeless cartoon person

I love how much you've improved and that you consider it one of your best works, and it's also cute as hell that Garnet both ripped up the painting but still kept the pieces. I assume that's got to be because they cared about their art even if they didn't think it was worth it in the moment, right?

I love drawing backgrounds, its such fun! Now, figure drawings, poses, EXPRESSIONS, my absolute nightmare. It's nice seeing someone so good at drawing humans show improvement on other areas, really inspiring

I know you are probably not going to see this June but I saw this video and thought “ I should do this. What could possibly go wrong “. I went a head and did a rough sketch for a lot of them and then got to the backgrounds parts and thought I was going to die because I might hate it and never want to do background again and when I tell you I did two sketches I started to fall in love with backgrounds now I can’t stop thinking and drawing them now every drawing is going to have a background and I love and hate it.

Honestly, I’d love to see the Prism team as Pokémon trainers. If you ever did another style challenge (drawing them in other Animes), you could do that in that video instead
Tbh you finishing the 30 day think even after the deadline was long past is super motivational to me; i easily get frustated when results sdon't come fast and wind up not finishing a LOT of wips and plans just because i get sad with my lack of skill, but sometimes you just gotta be sttuborn and do it anyways.( and you did so many backgrounds too, golly gosh, backgrounds take a lot of effort)
Those longer painting/drawainng videos are just super pleasant to watch and hear you thought process. It's neat, very fun~
Honestly the fact that this challenge took 3 months is so inspiring to me. It makes me feel like I can take on a challenge at a slower pace so I don’t burn out.
Honestly, seeing that you can complete a challenge like this without forcing yourself to do it everyday is very freeing to me. It’s help me to not feel intimidated when I do my own challenge

Challenges are so much more fun when you're able to go at your own pace. Sometimes I can do one in 5 days and sometimes it takes me months before I even touch a challenge. I'm glad you got to grow in the areas you wanted to with this one!
Backgrounds are fun but they are TOUGH when you haven't built the muscle. I mostly get my practice in through comics and the once-in-awhile full illustration. Congrats on completing the challenge! :D

When I saw this video, I decided to do the challenge myself. I was not looking for improvement or something before, however I started it two weeks ago ! I'm also more into drawing characters, so I was really impressed by the difference it makes on my backgrounds too !! Like, I'm only halfway there, but I can really feel the growth and I'm so proud of me now ! (And drawing backgrounds is no longer a torture 😆)

This video is such a good example of why I love your channel. The narration is always fun, the art always good but it's the process and seeing how you use references, rulers, scale, etc. and the way you explain the reasoning behind the way you draw that just pulls me in every time you post!

Ngl, after watching this, it makes me wanna try out this challenge too. Sometimes you get so stuck in drawing a certian style, pose, or even just the same character over and over. And doing something like this definetly would put the spark back into ANYBODYS drawings!

I genuinely believe this video helped me improve on my own art. Seeing someone's step-by-step process, or even just a timelapse of it like this video helps me see how anatomy is formed, how all different types of poses and features can be drawn easily if you just take the time to study or even just reference. This video helped me so much with my anatomy, seeing you break it down into sections before lineart helped me figure out how your anatomy style is structured (I was always into a cartoon-ish anatomy while still looking realistic, if that makes sense. This helped me so much, thank you.)

When you were making the Ben and Garnet piece and finishing around the 18:14 mark, I think it looks darling! I love backgrounds and all, but by GOD are they difficult as all hell do make. But you can tell a lot about a character/person by simply what environment they're in, which is why this challenge you've done has inspired me to TRY and crank out more of my own backgrounds; even if they're just concept drafts!

its incredible to see you improve and change and find your own style over the years. i've been following you for maybe half a decade (since i was very young) and its crazy to see how similar my art process has become to other artist's as i've improved. i found myself saying "hey, i do that!" to alot of your comments on backgrounds and perspective. i'm also a heavy character artist and need some serious practice in backgrounds, and i think you've just inspired me to try. thanks !
