Unless you can pull off the infinite punch trick, he will beat you down, part in which because there's a random chance your attack won't register his hitbox and then he will punish you. A couple of these shouldn't even be on here. Most boss fights are easier if you just listen to codec calls. The fight with multiple metal gear rays should have been on here. That took exact precision at higher difficulty levels

The titular BOSS at the end of MGS3 is a absolute pain to defeat, and it has a instant death time limit of all things. Vamp is also very annoying in MGS4, he always gives me a lot of trouble.
Well there's also almost always a way to defeat them. While boss is about using almost all tricks, hide and seek plus cqc counter is the way to go. It's the ambiance and emotion that makes it phenomenal. It's a plain field of white flowers knowing one has to die. The 10 minute marker is more of a clue that you can beat her within that time frame no matter the difficulty. Vamp on the otherhand can be a bitch. Especially if not well armed with proper ammunition. I always try to beat non-lethal and the music plus vamps' jumping around in and out of the pool can be hassle plus his shadow trick. MGS4 vamp fight is nice but the solar gun easily knocks him out even in Boss Extreme.
Liquid final fight, bare hands fight on top of Rex (MGS1), I've played MGS1 for the past 20 years and I can rush the game in 2 and a half hours but this fight man, it's always a challenge and driving me insane LOL The Fury in MGS3 was also SUPER challenging the first time, I'm surprised it's not mentioned here, especially since The End was mentioned though it's one of the easiest boss of MGS 3 (or even THE easiest)
All you needed to do was tranquilizer (*don't kill it*) his parrot, grab it, then release it. The parrot will fly directly to the End and give away his position. But that will only work once or twice. Because he will kill his own bird. Also making the battle easier because he will no longer be able to track you location easily.
The only boss fight I catch a snag in Snake Eater is the Fury. The End might take time and can be tedious but I’ve not found as consistently difficult as my time fighting the Fury. He’s the boss fight I dread.
I actually consider this a boss fight because of how continuos it is but the skulls from the phantom pain are are pain in your ass from the get go and I always was left with only ammo in my secondary
People saying Sahelanthropus wasn't as strong as Rex are missing the entire point, the former could transform into a friggin' Gundam, while the latter remained a dinosaur forever, how was that possible?
Sniperwolf fight is easy. Just get the Stinger rockets that you can control. Stay on the opposite side of the map (behind the snowbank) fire and guide it into her face. Easy.
Certainly don't agree with these top ten hardest bosses list, most of the bosses mentioned in this video were quite easy. The meter gear boss in son's of liberty was pretty tough, especially due to the fact that it can't be killed. The final boss in sons of liberty whist useing the sword was probably the easiest that was mentioned in this video.
Liquid snake on hard beat my ass like a hundred times, he’s so op and you gotta hit him like 100 times, one small mistake can snowball into many and before you know it you’re dead, I love still love it tho
Man if you guys had trouble with the Mi-24A boss on peace walker, I picture you guys curling in a corner and sucking your thumbs at the extra ops versions. =P Course imo all of the peace walker bosses suck.
i dont think sahelanthropus is the hardest metal gear boss to defeat. you can literally defeat it in under 5 minutes just look up the method on yt i think the peace walker metal gear battle (the one after the hangar) should be on this list, it took half an hour for me to defeat the first time bc i didnt have high rank weapons. and then the custom mech battles after which require a tedious amount of grinding made the process even more challenging
Sahelanthropus is easy only if you use the CGM 25 or grade 7 weapons. You have to try the extreme version with realistic weapons and no HUD. It took me days, MGSV's Goliath is by far the most intimidating and fastest Metal Gear and it is able to oneshot you with every direct attack. Peace Walker, on the other hand, was a long bossfight but very static and repetitive. That's beacuse you were able to simply counterattack anything without hiding and getting real cover
I found it surprising there was no MGR bosses on this list, MGR is canon to the MGS series and I saw nowhere them say there would be no MGR bosses on the list
They just didn't consider it canon. After all a lot of folks don't consider it canon. Still fun as FUCK to play though. I have like 5,000 hours and I still find joy in cheesing the game with the dumbest strats imaginable, like using the Sai and Wooden Sword on Revengeance mode. Don't be like me till you have thousands of dollars to burn on therapy sessions.
remember when people laugh at one scientist idea of making tanks with legs? well who laughing now with REX, RAY, Peace Walker and Sahelanthropus as well GEKKO
Sahelantropus is an incredibly easy boss, it's the easiest boss of the entire game, it doesn't even compare with Rex in MGS1. All you need to beat Sahel is a tank, and a fully upgraded Grom rpg.

Liquid on MGS1 was probably the toughest for me. The fist fight
He's the easiest person to fight ❗✌️
Psycho Mantis was the most difficult, simply because, we all perished until the game told us what to do!
I actually consider this a boss fight because of how continuos it is but the skulls from the phantom pain are are pain in your ass from the get go and I always was left with only ammo in my secondary
Top 10 Twisted Metal Drivers #mojoplays #watchmojo #top10 #videogamecharacters
People saying Sahelanthropus wasn't as strong as Rex are missing the entire point, the former could transform into a friggin' Gundam, while the latter remained a dinosaur forever, how was that possible?
if you go by extreme difficulty alone I'd put every boss from MGS2 in the top spots, but the fight against the Rays is the toughest.
I'm surprised none of the Metal Gear in Peace Walker were listed. Most of them were difficult for me. Like the huge tank one and the flying one
Agree, they are really hard
Anyone had to do a pitstop style controller port swap with a friend or relative when fighting Psycho Mantis?
Shout out to Otacon, a weebu who actually slays bitches.
It seems like Mojo didn’t try to take down all four skulls in Code Talker Extreme with realistic weapons and no HUD
Or even Cloaked in Silence Extreme is way more difficult than the End and Sniper Wolf if you want to do a classic sniper battle with no HUD
Top ten hardest missions/Segments in Metal Gear games.
In the Twin Snakes the Nikita can work on wolf fight 2 ... I didn't play the original. So I don't know if that trick works on ps1
It does work in the original
It does. I almost always use this tactic.
Stinger missiles work too on the second wolf battle
I feel like the people who made this list have never actually played a metal gear game
10:25 what does that mean please?
Are you talking about sahelanthropus in extreme mode? First time i fought him on normal i beat him first try with grenades and a simple automatic.
missed the hardest challenge in all of MGS.
The Ladder Climb.
Sniperwolf fight is easy. Just get the Stinger rockets that you can control. Stay on the opposite side of the map (behind the snowbank) fire and guide it into her face. Easy.
They forgot The Ladder.
you forgot the Sorrow
You can also use rotten food against The Fear.
The End actually Ended my playthrought for a few months
Sahelanthropus was definitely the correct choice
Considering game difficulty I would have put the harrier boss fight in mgs2.
In Extreme it's quite tough.
Sally was way to weak for all the hype surrounding it,should have allowed it to punch and stomp like he does in the cutscenes
Senator Armstrong is easily the hardest fight in the series followed by the Metal Gear Rays fight in MGS2.
I mean, that's not ACTUALLY Liquid in control of Liquid Ocelot. It is Ocelot. Liquid is DEAD dead.
I admit Rex and Sahelanthropus was hard but The End and Sniper Wolf were tough but the rest was child's play.
Liquid snake on hard beat my ass like a hundred times, he’s so op and you gotta hit him like 100 times, one small mistake can snowball into many and before you know it you’re dead, I love still love it tho
Metal gear Rex was so hard because the missiles were almost impossible to dodge even with the chaff grenades
keep running til it stops shooting missiles...
How was fighting the wolf in the snow in 4 not on here with the woman of war in the cabin not here smh at least give me the fury do better MP
What about Quiet and Crying wolf?
Man if you guys had trouble with the Mi-24A boss on peace walker, I picture you guys curling in a corner and sucking your thumbs at the extra ops versions. =P Course imo all of the peace walker bosses suck.
no you're right. the Mi-24A wasn't even the toughest helicopter fight in its own game
i dont think sahelanthropus is the hardest metal gear boss to defeat. you can literally defeat it in under 5 minutes just look up the method on yt
i think the peace walker metal gear battle (the one after the hangar) should be on this list, it took half an hour for me to defeat the first time bc i didnt have high rank weapons. and then the custom mech battles after which require a tedious amount of grinding made the process even more challenging
The only thing hard about MGS1 is the controls. The only boss that gave me trouble is Volgin on the Shagohod
funny story about the sniper wolf i used Nikita's missiles to defeat her is that considered cheating or a dumb way to win,?
This is the worst list I've ever seen. They really put psycho mantis this high and sahelanthropus in 1st position?
Hardest one's were The Boss and The End
Also it took me 1hr. 45 min. to beat Psycho Mantis without using port 2 and without destroying the Statues
The Skulls Parasite Unit are harder/more annoying than all of these bosses!
remember when people laugh at one scientist idea of making tanks with legs? well who laughing now with REX, RAY, Peace Walker and Sahelanthropus as well GEKKO
Sahelantropus is an incredibly easy boss, it's the easiest boss of the entire game, it doesn't even compare with Rex in MGS1. All you need to beat Sahel is a tank, and a fully upgraded Grom rpg.
How is the boss not on this list?
Fatman is the most annoying boss of them all. He is my bane in extreme.
