Man, this is so real. Viture is just much better than nreal... Glasses aside, they just offer everything to make life easier and they never overpromise...
Really confused to have this playing in the background and then to look up and see my local bus station on the screen at 14:18 - I didn’t expect that in this review 😮
Willingness to try? This feels like every user who goes to their IT department determined to prove that nothing works when they refuse to learn how to computer.
I have the same volume issues when trying to dock my Switch into my All-in-one PC. And the only way I've managed to make it work is using headphones. Which would entirely defeat the purpose of having the glasses since you need a cabled headphone plugged into the dock.
man i love my xreals and the new product the "beam" will allow portable play which mine should be coming in but yeah it was a little annoying that they dont work with switch right out of the box until you realize the glasses have no battery themselves so you need something to power them as well as have video output
Random thought, but it seems like the mode where the screen is stationary and gets cut off if you look away is for people who want to be able to also see their surrounding without taking the glasses off. maybe
Yeah. If you use this with windows, it makes it so you can put the xreal screen in a fixed location in relation to any other monitors. This is especially useful because it utilizes miracast, allowing you to add another screen even if you don’t have an available output. Previously, you needed usb c or hdmi output and the video would be constantly in your face
I am using my NREAL Air Gen1 on the go, together with a cheap mobile dock with USB-C port for delivering power, the NREAL adapter, a short HDMI male to male plug and a PD capable power bank. Works perfectly. So, - not impossible, - but just with a little tinkering. Together with some velcro strap, and boom, you have a quite compact pack for portable switch gaming with the glasses for hours. And - putting the shade over the glasses, even in bright sunlight...
I usually turn up the switch when I am in a game by holding the home button. (only when connected to a wired/wireless sound out) I could've made this shorter.... Also it changes the volume of the device it is connected to. your welcome : )
The only thing I could think of is if you got a 2nd dock that were to sit on like a nightstand next to your bed or on a side table next to a couch and then use it that way. But definitely very limited usage.
It was the standard PR kit, I assume since it looks like the same accessories that every other reviewer got. The phone was included to make sure reviewers could try nebula, which other reviewers have said nreal told them, which makes me believe that nreal (now xreal) had provided the information and Wood either missed it or ignored it.
Is Virture actually a good company for the glasses cause i wanna play my Xbox or Switch on my bed without look at my tv and if they are good then money need to be saved lol
The problems seems to be that the switch isn't designed to go into "docked mode" and send video via it's usb c unless it's receiving power from the device connected. If you power it it should work fine
I've got these glasses and I really like them. I have no idea why they sent them to you like that, they arrived in better condition when I got them (with the adapter).
I own the Nreal (now Xreal) glasses, and I'm getting the Beam in the mail soon. I enjoy the current product for the amount of money I've spent on it. But this negative video NEEDED to be made, especially for this wide of an audience. Xreal does not make it clear how to use their products to the best of their ability. Having to use several button combinations on the glasses to change sound, change whether it's USB or HDMI sound (which is probably something else that would've solved the Viture dock problem), etc., is probably fine if that information was readily available in instruction manuals instead of hoping you stumble upon it on their subreddit. The fact you needed to provide as much information as you did to use the product correctly is troubling, too. My use case for these glasses didn't need that type of info to be entered, but that sucks if you intend to use it directly with your phone like that. Thank you for the vid, Wood. Hopefully this helps open Xreal's eyes to the issues with their product, or rather their ability to market and instruct about it.
He just became Gordon Ramsey at the end and just completely said what he felt. Honestly good of him like the company is just horrible just spamming and not paying attention to feedback.
Linus Tech Tips recently tore down the Viture glasses and convinced people they are not that great... I was very close to buying them before but not now
@@ESUNGHOST ... I know. I was talking about when he brought them up in the first part of this video and towards the end, that neither option is that great.
They also reviewed Nreal glasses...like a year ago. Probably another version of them. Similar verdict to the viture ones, they are fine for a few niche usages, but in general, the tech is still early and needs to evolve, which is fine, to be honest. At the end, its cool that some companies take the tech and evolve it, even if it seems useless to people right now. I think the bigger issue is the fact that those glasses companies seem to thrive by spamming creators until they give in. At the end, they have publicity, no matter if its good or bad.
@@sergekonevsky For sure, between these two... Viture is still the better option, but for the price point and the weird quirks... it needs more time to bake in the oven
I just saw another video using this device. Seems like it works fine with other things along with the switch. Being able to look at other things and “come back” to the content. Makes sense to me and way less expensive
i definitely do like that idea, but it should definitely have ability to stay in focus at all times as well, and give you the option of looking “away” or not. otherwise what’s the difference of using glasses vs using an actual screen? especially when you could just lower the glasses in full on picture mode
Yes the Xreal Beam acts as a portable Switch dock but it's main feature set is 3DoF which allows you to pin the screen anywhere in space. This gets rid of any edge visibility issues some people have. Clearly, Wood doesn't even know Viture One has a 3DoF mode built into the glasses or he would have complained about the image cutting off when he moves his head on the Vitures too. It's AR FoV, it's NOT VR FoV- a technology limitation for ALL AR glasses. Also, another thing these RUclipsrs don't know is the Xreal Air has 49 PPD, which is higher than Quest 2 and even the Apple Vision Pro that's not even out yet. Yeah this screen is REALLY good for productivity, specially if you pair it with Beam to use as another monitor for your computer that you can pin anywhere you want.
I have seen Factor 75 a lot but noticed people tell you how much it cost. If you were to buy a box today it would be $80 on 14 meals but IF you keep going the price go back to normal leaving you with a bill of 171.85 for each week.
I thought you and Bob complained about the motion sickness of the Viture glasses, as when you moved your head you feel dizzy when you first used it. I like the ability to turn and the "screen" is stuck to one orientation is good for those who want to a smooth experience.
Nreal was sponsoring everything a few months back, I was always a little bit suspicious (Also totally irrelevant but oppo is actually a pretty respectable phone manufacturer in their own right)
I don’t think the Nreal glasses are necessarily a scam, and Oppo is a respectable android phone maker. HOWEVER, what I don’t know is why on earth they would send these to you. These are definitely meant for people that ALREADY use a supported android phone. Most of these have been sent to tech RUclipsrs (snazzy labs, mkbhd, ltt) who have loved them, because they ARE the target market. Clearly switch RUclipsrs are not. No hate to Wood though, I just don’t think you should’ve been sent this in the first place.
Thank you so much Wood for creating such an incredible review video - LOVE it so much!!! We will have new size 0 nose pads soon (which will be the new size 1 nose pad going forward) and it should help fix the screen position for you and Bob. We are so happy that you are loving the XR Glasses and Mobile Dock - the Neckband is coming soon. 😊 Now, we're going to watch the video one more time! 😎

there actually is better way to control your sound: holding your home button for a few seconds, this shouls make a menu pop out of the right of your screen where you can control the sound AND brightnes, if this doesnt work you will have to turn it on in the settings sadly i did not find it so plz help me with that one guys!
I have nreal glasses they work on switch all I you need is a hdmi to type c with power to get it to work. to turn volume up all you do is hold the button on headset for 5 seconds and it switches to volume controls so you can turn switch volume up and down
This really isn't a fair review. Though their interactions with Wood and not knowing his main use case for them was atrocious. The head tracking feature is one of the best features they offer. It's much more natural to play that way. It's like playing on a tv. When the whole screen moves with your head, it throws you off when you make slight microadjustments to your head that are normal when looking at different parts of the screen. I've seen a lot of people complain about that making them sick. It is pretty dumb that you can't go to a fixed display when using the Beam though. I thought you could. The Xreal Airs are one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. This one use case of using the Switch with specifically a static display is apparently a weakness, but head tracking mode is a better experience anyway. Everything I've used it for have been a fantastic experience. The Xreal Airs combined with the Steam Deck are a revelation in portable gaming.
Right?! I wouldn’t be surprised if xreal adds a lens fixed setting in their next beam update- many of us have mentioned it to them and the beam is an example of them listening to what users are actually looking for. This whole review feels like a disappointing, bad faith attempt by wood because he was annoyed and intent on dragging a product he had no real intention of leaning how to actually use it. I have absolutely LOVED playing TOTK on the airs. It really elevated the experience for me- especially exploring the depths in a completely dark room and the massive screen of the airs. Toss a pair of Bluetooth headphones on and it was a super immersive experience!

Ps. This has to be a joke or something 😂😂😂😂 I can't believe you put up with this. It would have actually drove me insane 😂😂😂 seems like they want to scam as many people as they can 😂
I hope they enjoyed your review 🤣🤣
Wood's eyes at 10:04 when he says "on sound" cracked me up 🤣
Man, this is so real. Viture is just much better than nreal... Glasses aside, they just offer everything to make life easier and they never overpromise...
Really confused to have this playing in the background and then to look up and see my local bus station on the screen at 14:18 - I didn’t expect that in this review 😮
I love your willingness to try and I feel your exasperation!
Willingness to try? This feels like every user who goes to their IT department determined to prove that nothing works when they refuse to learn how to computer.
I have the same volume issues when trying to dock my Switch into my All-in-one PC. And the only way I've managed to make it work is using headphones. Which would entirely defeat the purpose of having the glasses since you need a cabled headphone plugged into the dock.
man i love my xreals
and the new product the "beam" will allow portable play which mine should be coming in
but yeah it was a little annoying that they dont work with switch right out of the box until you realize the glasses have no battery themselves so you need something to power them as well as have video output
same here. they need to finesse the user experience though 'cause most people don't want to learn about what they are as much as just start using em
@@itcamefromabox exactly
hopefully with rising popularity they realize this and rework it soon
Random thought, but it seems like the mode where the screen is stationary and gets cut off if you look away is for people who want to be able to also see their surrounding without taking the glasses off. maybe
Yeah. If you use this with windows, it makes it so you can put the xreal screen in a fixed location in relation to any other monitors. This is especially useful because it utilizes miracast, allowing you to add another screen even if you don’t have an available output.
Previously, you needed usb c or hdmi output and the video would be constantly in your face
OPPO isn't a knockoff. It's a pretty big brand outside of the US and they make good phones.
Also it changes the volume of the device it is connected to. your welcome : )
that’s true, but for most of the video the problem was that there was ZERO sound. might be a fix for after he got the extra box part tho
ya. I didnt know if he tryd everything yet so i was just checking@@lightworthy
The only thing I could think of is if you got a 2nd dock that were to sit on like a nightstand next to your bed or on a side table next to a couch and then use it that way. But definitely very limited usage.
I like my Xreals for what they do and are and yes its very early stage for this tech but sending that particular phone was a big F!
@@TetrisAddictionsounds about right.
hahaha I love that you blurred the email contact the first time but not at 11:12
Is Virture actually a good company for the glasses cause i wanna play my Xbox or Switch on my bed without look at my tv and if they are good then money need to be saved lol
Yes they are super good!
@@sergekonevsky huh okay, but do they work with every console or just some?
They wanted to get a Wood video, they got it, but now they probably wish they didn't.
The problems seems to be that the switch isn't designed to go into "docked mode" and send video via it's usb c unless it's receiving power from the device connected. If you power it it should work fine
The switch needs power from the dock to put out a video signal, not the display. Displays don't provide power, they are only inputs.
I wonder if viture did sent wood their neckband. Because that's a game changer. I never saw wood review the neckband
But its a really cool idea bet next gen consoles will come with a pair of better glasses...reminds me of psvr but way smaller
I really doubt
This may be one of your best videos yet. Need more like these.
I've got these glasses and I really like them. I have no idea why they sent them to you like that, they arrived in better condition when I got them (with the adapter).
Even though you were frustrated throughout the process.. this video was fckn’ hilarious 😂 sorry for your troubles but thank you for the laughs
Oppo owns one plus. So not a knockoff
Wood, I think you have a very very very high patience for you actually go through with this.
Great video, Wood! Zach, (Zack? Zac? Sorry I don’t know the spelling of your name) The SpongeBob bit made me laugh out loud 😂
I purchased Viture after watching your video, Wood, and it is amazing! I like them more than any monitors I have ever used!
He just became Gordon Ramsey at the end and just completely said what he felt. Honestly good of him like the company is just horrible just spamming and not paying attention to feedback.
Linus Tech Tips recently tore down the Viture glasses and convinced people they are not that great... I was very close to buying them before but not now
These aren’t viture glasses
To be fair, Linus also mentioned Viture is by far the best for this kind of glasses, but he just doesn't like this tech yet
Yes! And it works with Win+K// miracast functionality
Viture has built-in 3DoF, tried both, everything on Viture is better than nreal
@@AlexJorgensenPresidentxreal has 3DoF as well…
@@TetrisAddiction But with another accessory...that is why I said everything on Viture is better, all the details
Prepare for another 100 emails before they realise the video is up, or there were response emails 😂
Nreal was sponsoring everything a few months back, I was always a little bit suspicious
(Also totally irrelevant but oppo is actually a pretty respectable phone manufacturer in their own right)
14:19 that’s Queen Square!! Mad how Liverpool is in a Japanese app
We strive to offer the best display (color calibration and brightness), sound quality, and overall comfort with our XR Glasses, while the Mobile Dock and Neckband are all about helping users enjoy the best gaming experience ever! We are so happy that you are loving the XR Glasses and Mobile Dock - the Neckband is coming soon. 😊
Now, we're going to watch the video one more time! 😎
💀
Bruh 💀
brother i don't think you watched the video
Interesting......
Rip bozo
i cant get over the fact you got a bus clip from here in liverpool it had me creasing!!
You got the wrong glasses if you want to be able to use the switch with it, you need the VITURE One Mobile Dock and the VITURE One Glasses
Ye that is bad, I bought the Viture Glasses and they just worked out of the box w/o installing anything (you can update them but you dont have to)
Nreal are SO MUCH BETTER than the Virture. Works great for my switch
Wtf were they thinking like, what did they expect? A glowing review??? A broken product and harassing a creator who didn’t even want to make a negative review, why would you do this???
Everyone in the comments “bad glasses no buy”
Me “YO THAT BUS STOP IS LIVERPOOL UP THE SCOUSERS”
Always good to see hometurf on an aussie youtuber living in the US’s video
LOL i commend your patience and sanity throughout this whole process!!!
well, i guess the second thing they sent was much better but yeah...hard to recommend LOL.
there actually is better way to control your sound: holding your home button for a few seconds, this shouls make a menu pop out of the right of your screen where you can control the sound AND brightnes, if this doesnt work you will have to turn it on in the settings sadly i did not find it so plz help me with that one guys!
The xreal beam coming soon should make the experience better
Wavey hair Wood means were entering a new era 🫡👾🔥 you and RVG are my favorite Nintendo RUclipsrs
I have nreal glasses they work on switch all I you need is a hdmi to type c with power to get it to work. to turn volume up all you do is hold the button on headset for 5 seconds and it switches to volume controls so you can turn switch volume up and down
Just mark their emails as Spam, lol
Im sorry you had to suffer through this mess
I always knew Wood was FAMILY and the TF confirms it!! 🦶
