- Before I can get my 1974 AMC Gremlin drivable, it first has to run right. In this video I will be rebuilding the Carter YF 1 barrel carburetor used on many AMC, Ford, Jeep, and other engines through the 70s and 80s.

I just purchased a 1974 AMC Gremlin about a month ago. It's been a fun little car to work on, and to learn. Nice to see I'm not the only one trying to get one on the road.
You should post videos of the process!
It was rebuilt poorly now we are going to rebuild it less poorly. Omg story of my life and career
It starts first try now and I have an accelerator pump. I'm happy with that!
@@TheRedneckStig hell yeah that's awesome
Great video. I was wondering about that jet rod spring (mine is broken). BTW, don't use brake clean in the carb. Burning it in the engine creates toxic gas.
Gremlin! Yes a boosted gremlin. Chandler you are gonna trip some people out.😆
Hood exit with a tractor flapper of course!
@@TheRedneckStig the only way to do it!
Seems like that heat tube is impossible to find for the choke
It's 5/16 I believe... Most people use brake tubing to make one.... I'm converting mine to electric choke....
Its missing the tube from the Accelerator pump
