@@Kingcommaalex i feel like these restraints need more of push towards the stomach rather than down on the lap bar. The same lap bar method goes for s&s coasters like maxx force
They go crazy low. I know on Untamed they went hella low to the point it was painful. Especially my thighs were semi crushed by the end of the ride. Despite being nearly stapled I still had crazy amount of air time. Then again I'm 5ft4 and weigh about 100lbs. Those shinguards are a pain too.
I love how you express your body with no shame, keep it up one day you get to ride Let's just say it's tight for a good reason because the coaster doesn't have a over the shoulder harness, so it be scary to fall out But again keep it up man you got it
As a large woman who is a classic 'apple' shape, I have a lot of anxiety when attending theme parks. I really appreciate you doing these videos! Much encouragement in your weight loss journey!!
I’m a 5’6 female and 205 pounds and I haven’t had a problem fitting in first gen RMC trains like those seen on Wicked Cyclone and others. Raptors are the most accompanying models by RMC so rides like Jersey Devil Coaster are very comfortable for someone of my size. However Iron Gwazi utilizes second generation hybrid trains. I’ve done two RMCs with these trains, Steel Vengeance and Twisted Timbers, and that was in 2019 so I’ve gained a bit of weight since then. The restraints remind me a lot of the least fat-friendly coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure (my home park), which is El Toro. I really have to squeeze in that ride and the tight squeeze makes the experience really painful. Coasters like these are a big motivation for weight loss
I'm 6'0" and 245 lbs. I was able to ride, but it was a tight fit and for my first go they had to come back and push my lap bar down another notch to get it to clear. It ended up pinching my stomach in a way that made the ride pretty bad. When I returned I was able to position my belly fat more comfortably and loved the remaining 3 times I got to ride it. But for sure it is not an accommodating seat by any means. And it's so weird having no kind of handle or anything to hold onto as well.
I don't like the look of seats tbh. Just watching videos, I didn't think it would be comfortable for larger or taller guests at all. I really don't like the fact they've not put handles to hold on to. I think that'll put a lot of people off tbh. I'm a huge coaster fan, but that really bothers me. I occasionally do a "hands-up", but want to be able to hold on, as it stops me getting thrown around. I have disabilities, so I'd rather hold on to feel more secure.
@@lindatannock It looks bad, but I'm 6'4" and 191lbs. Athletic slim build. I've ridden a couple of RMCs (Steel Vengeance, New Texas Giant, Outlaw Run, Twisted Cyclone) and I thought the same thing based off the look, but it's one of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. Their are places to hold on to, but they are not traditional bars and it really adds to the thrill of the experience. As someone above mentioned I could see it being uncomfortable because of the forces on the ride if you're of a larger size. I know we all want to ride these amazing coasters, but I would not recommend someone force themself on by being stapled to the seat on any RMC. They are just to forceful.
I was 5’11 240 last summer riding on Goliath (sfga) and it was a tight fit, I couldn’t fit on max force unfortunately but I lost some weight so I might be able to finally ride it this summer
Can’t begin to tell you how much me and my husband love your channel. We watch from the UK while planning for our yearly holidays and you’re videos are so helpful. We’ll see if we manage to get on this ride in May. I’m really sorry you couldn’t get on, I know you will one day! Thank you so much for all of your videos, they really do help people of all sizes plan their days at the parks.
Have you seen how much the prices have gone up this year? Orlando are pricing people out the game. Pre-pandemic, we went every year, but car hire has TRIPLED in cost, flights doubled, hotels more than doubled, and I'm thinking villas will have gone right up too (we currently have one on hold). Our car hire for 3 weeks is usually £1k, and it's now £3k! WTH?! We'd be £12k for flights villa and car hire alone. That's insane. They're pricing people out the game. How do they think that's going to bring the tourist trade back? It's my fave place in the world, but I refuse to be ripped-off. Its probably OK if you've pre-booked and had things on hold for 2 years.
@@lindatannock I live in Florida and can tell you why the costs have gone up, most of it having something to do with the aftermath of the pandemic: 1) the housing market has increased significantly because of all the people who now work from home have decided to move to the state because there's no state taxes here and housing is cheaper than the states they were living in prior, thus driving up the cost of rent as well. 2) newer cars are in high demand, and thus more expensive, because of the lack of new vehicles on the market, as most new cars are still waiting for their computer chips (which are behind in production from all of the manufacturing plants that were shut down during COVID-19). 3) Flights are more expensive as well because of fuel costs, which OPEC is blaming on supply chain issues caused by the pandemic. Oh, and there's always 4) greedy bastards using COVID-19 as an excuse to price gouge all of us!
Best wishes for the weight loss journey Adrian. It's a big ask but maybe 50lbs is a target to work to and hopefully we'll see you screaming your lungs out on this ride.
Even though it may result in a walk of shame, with RMC's, still give it a go on the ride itself to see if you fit. On Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point, the test seat said no but I did fit on the ride itself with an extra push from the attendant. Also, if you don't have a rigid belly, you can sometimes "lift" your tummy a little to get that extra inch. I'm 6'0" and 320 and just managed to fit. Hope this helps in the future.
THANK YOU! Your videos help me so much. I'm 6'2" 280ish I've fit on most RMC's have not been to BGT yet for Iron Gwazi. From my experience, If you're Squishy you have a better chance than if you are solid. The more you're able to lift your stomach the better your chances. Another thing to keep in mind is that "I" Never trust the test seats, there are many that have slightly different "fits", and in some cases the test seats are intentionally smaller to not hold up the dispatching procedure. If you have no problem with potentially being asked to exit w/o riding I would always suggest trying the real thing, not the test seat. Also, always take time to watch which ops are going the extra mile to get people in. Never sit on the side with the tiny little person who has no weight to use to get you in. Finally, some "good" ops know which seats are a little more forgiving and if you ask them before you're already on the train they might help you with that. (I got on Wicked Twister FINALLY 'cause the ops saw me and directed me to a particular seat.
This is helpful for many people who don’t pay attention to these test seats. A lot of taller people even have a hard time riding these RMCs due to the tight shin area. It’s really not unusual for seatbelts to get secured first before being able to bring down the bar. This allows the ride ops to check and make sure each seatbelt is secured on each rider. Then once everyone’s belt is checked, they will give the thumbs up for the operator in charge of the control panel to unlock the lap bars for riders to pull down over them. It’s a common safety protocol on all wooden coasters and on other coasters that require seatbelts.
From experience on other RMCs, the lap bar is the bigger issue than the seat belt. I've seen people who have gotten the belt to click, but not get the lap bar down. I haven't seen the opposite.
Hey there, I am 329lbs about 6 feet tall and I can buckle the belt and can ride with some help from the ride ops. Please also note that I have yet to experience a test seat that was accurate. This particular test seat is much lower than the actual trains.
I've worked at about 6 parks in my time in the industry and about half of that was in ride ops. I wish these videos would have been around in my earlier years as they are so helpful for so many people. As a ride op it's never easy telling someone the unfortunate news that they can't ride. And it's not always from being overweight. I've had professional athletes and celebrities on my vip tours that I had to say, "sorry man. You're too buff," or whatever the situation was. There was blogger down here when HP & the Forbidden Journey documented his journey. It was all over the new and everything. He achieved his goal and it was big deal because of all the press Great video.
Yeah...I can not ride Harry Potter Forbidden Journey at Hollywood...I can and have got the test seat to green light for a few seconds multiple times...but trying to get on the actual ride...as they told me "Your chest and shoulders are to big" sigh...
I saw that video and it helped give me the motivation to start losing weight. I couldn't ride Forbidden Journey or Escape from Gringott's at first. Now, I can get on both!
this is a genuinely incredible insight into accessibility and accomodation on roller coasters. i am 6’3 and weigh just about 230 lbs, so i havent had all that much trouble on the RMCs ive been on. this was a very eye-opening video. i wish you much luck on your weight loss journey!
I am 6'3 and weigh about 240 lbs. I haven't been on a coaster since 2013 when I went on Superman at SFNE (an epic ride). At this time I was about 260/270 lbs but it took them almost 5 minutes to get the restraints to lock on me. I had a woman literally stomping with her body weight on the restraint to get it low enough. It wasn't even my gut that was the issue. It was my thigh thickness and leg length. If you are over 6 ft tall it can be hard to fit on some rides even if you aren't obese
@@ChiggidyChuck hard agree with the tall thing. i barely managed to fit on California Screamin the year it got renovated because the shoulder restraints are too short for me. in fact, a lot of over-the-shoulder restraints are just far too short. its why i never go on boomerangs (or any vekomas with over-the-shoulders, really) or arrow loopers anymore. they REALLY hurt. (side note, i REALLY want to get out to SFNE sometime in my life and im honestly quite jealous youve been on superman)
@@jadesmediacorner oh you will love it once you finally get there. It is one epic Intamin. I would imagine nothing compares to it or beats it other than maybe Skyrush or Expedition GeForce. It has the wonderful layout style of a B&M with tons of floater but instead it is a high-speed Intamin rush with ejector airtime on nearly every hill.
@@ChiggidyChuck oh WOW that sounds amazing! ive never gotten to ride a hyper coaster except Goliath at Magic Mountain (which was so disappointing imo) and that sounds AMAZING!
@@jadesmediacorner well that is a shame becuase from what I hear Goliath/Titan clone sucks. And they look bad on videos too. You definitely need to experience a legit hyper. I am a little jealousnof y9u though because I have never been on an RMC and am dying to get back to a theme park as only a few RMCs even existed the last time I went to a park in 13'. Thankfully Wicked Cyclone is at SFNE (my closest park) which is supposedly one hell of an RMC. I need to get there. Maybe this summer is finally my time.
5'9" I was able to fit on Steel Vengeance at 248lbs with an extra push for a tight fit. I am heavier now and won't try again till I lose weight. I only have my own experience but based on reviews from thinner people, I believe the tight fit makes the harder negative g's more painful or uncomfortable.
Couldn’t agree more, I’m 5’11 240 and fitting on rmcs can be quite annoying and uncomfortable for most of the ride, some people tell me the airtime was great for them but I’m stapled because that’s the only way I was able to fit
This video really hits the nail on the head. I know so many people who can't ride roller coasters because of their size. I think the roller coaster industry as a whole should really think about this when it comes to the planning and manufacturing of their trains. Everyone who wants to ride should be able to do so safely and comfortably, especially if they're paying to get into the park!
Disagree. Most of the time people are fat because they consume too much food and drink. If you want to go on a ride that doesn't allow your weight, then exercise. It would definitely benefit the person who wants to ride because not only will they be able to ride roller coasters, but they will be much healthier. Personally I think we should encourage exercise more instead of just letting people get fat but that's me.
It seems Iron Gwazi aka a must ride is a bigger version of Twisted Timbers, another RMC coaster located at Kings Dominion VA. When I go to Kings Dominion with friends sometimes they can ride and other times they can't because of the fit. Also, sometimes my guy friends just opt-out of riding it because it hurts below the belt with the center notch and how far the restraint has to go down. I feel like out of all the coaster companies RMC makes the most restrictive restraints.
cried today after having to walk off because i couldn't fit on this ride :( sat by myself, waiting for my friends who went ahead and continued with the ride. i don't think i've ever been more embarrassed. thank you for this video & helping out other big people!
Rode it today im 5'10 230 more muscle than fat and my brother 5'11 about 250 we both hardly got the green light on the test seats. Now, i have to say we tried the test seats and theyre not accurate. There is more room on the ride bc my little brother rode with his fanny pack on. So dont be too discouraged you may fit.
I just visited bush gardens and was able to ride iron gwazi. I am 6feet 1 and 280lbs. It was a tight squeeze but I made it. Because of the airtime the lap bar became tighter during the ride. It was similar to what Adrian described for the velocicoaster. The ride was a bit uncomfortable towards the end. Overall I loved it and will ride again. Keep working to get the weight down. Iron gwazi is a worthy goal.
I am 6'3 and like 270 and I could not fit on Storm Chaser at Kentucky Kingdom. I am going to Dollywood in May and not holding my breath I'll fit on their RMC.
I've been SOOOOOOO waiting for this. Thank you ☺️ 💞 I've gained weight recently so quite concerned about what I will and perhaps will not fit on. I've never had any problems but rather concerned especially seeing Dekota in the seat and the lack of space. Great to get another perspective at the end there too. I'm sorry you didn't get to ride it this time.
@@brianrooker8527 thank you so much for the correction , I am struggling with hearing due to illness. I was not sure if I had Koda's name right but gave it a try. Thank you again 😃
It's nice of you to actually do these kind of videos. Alot of people love to bodyshame for no reason and it's awesome to see you giving no fs abt the potential mean comments. As for the RMC seat, they're much inferior compared to the Gerstlauer ones in New Texas Giant and Iron Rattler which i find more comfortable and more accomodating to plus sizes.
I live in Tampa and have been to Busch gardens my whole life, know every ride and will ride anything without fear but I rode this 2 days ago and it was INSANE.
RMC attractions are so amazing, except for the trains. For such forceful and relentless rides, to choose a smaller seat and restraint design is an odd choice. Yes, shorter and younger riders are able to get on earlier with a smaller height restriction than the likes of a B&M ride, but it's a shame that taller and larger riders have a harder time. I am 6ft 3, average build, and find I have bruised thighs and shins after riding, especially from the taller and longer RMC's such as Zadra and Steel Vengeance. Great video.
As someone who is 5’2” and 145 pounds when I’m not pregnant, it’s not your height causing the bruised thighs and shins, it’s the forces. Everyone gets thrown into the lap bar and guards so hard it’s unavoidable. I left CP covered in thigh bruises last visit.
I'm big - 6' 4" and 275 lb. I have fit on all the RMC's so far (hoping for Gwazi this summer), but typically not in the front row of the 2-row cars. The seat belt is shorter in the front seat for some reason (Colossus, Joker, Storm Chaser, Vengeance) but the 2nd row is longer. I can't get the front belt - not even close. 2nd row is tight, sometimes need a little help with the latch. The bar is TIGHT and generally I need a good push or two from a ride op. Once it gets a green, I'm not really uncomfortable... but certainly not tight enough to spoil the experience. I find that the test seats are dialed in tighter than the real thing, yes, it is to discourage lost load time with those who clearly aren't going to fit. With Colossus, any load delay ruins the chance for a good dueling ride. At my height, I fail to fit many rides that have over-the-shoulder restraints... they can't close as they hit my shoulders. Nice that some of those rides (Medusa, others) have "bear seats" usually at the middle of the train that have longer straps. Be sure to ask the ops if the ride has any large seats if you think you might be tight...
Tried to get on today. Team members have recently been told they are not allowed to push down on restraints anymore. I'm 320lbs and have been on many other RMCs at a higher weight. Was told by a team member that because they have a lower height limit then other RMCs they have a tighter lap restriction. Was able to get the belt clipped easily with belt to spare but team wouldn't push down !
I worked here in the summer before it opened and the seats pushing people around was like the biggest problem so that’s probably why they needed to make it super tight
Thank you - I’ve been waiting for your video. I’ve been so exited for this coaster but I know RMC has the tightest trains. I couldn’t fit on Wicked Cyclone at SFNE last year - that would have been my first RMC but I didn’t fit in the test seat and it was a 2+ hour wait so I rode the other rides in the park instead. I’m 6’ 270ish lbs so maybe my boy Tony gave me hope. I’ve been working out and losing some weight since last year so I’m going to give it a try but even if I don’t fit I’ll keep working on it like you. This ride has been my motivation for losing weight so that’s a good thing overall. Thanks again for making your content for us larger guests. The good news is that we fit on Ice Breaker and Velocicoaster so we have those great rides in the meantime!
Update: thanks for the inspiration - after I saw this video I said what the heck and drove out to try it. Guess what - I fit! They did have to push the bar down but overall it wasn’t really uncomfortable. The ride is insanely forceful so there were times when my thighs were hitting the bar really hard, but overall it was a great ride! Really glad I’ve been working out. Keep up your weight loss journey and you’ll be able to ride in no time - it’s a great motivator. Thanks for the content!
The only RMC I've ridden was Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City. I'm 6'4" around 320, and I was able to sit mostly comfortably. I'm going to Cedar Point in August. Hopefully I'll be able to ride Steel Vengeance.
5’8 320 here, I’ll be in Orlando this week, hope I can get on IG, Ice Breaker and Velocicoaster. The RMC at my home park is a tight squeeze; some days I’ll get the walk of shame, other days I’ll fit. If IG has a short wait, I’ll give it a shot.
I'm 6'2" 344 and I fit fine on Tigris and same restraints you'll be fine for icebreaker.. I just re-tries the seat for velocicoaster and my roommate had to give a push but it turned green
Ice Breaker uses Premier Rides trains with the over the shoulder restraints. These trains are very accommodating so you’ll definitely fit. VelociCoaster might be a squeeze
I went to the park this past Tuesday and the restraints were surprisingly comfortable for me. I'm 6'0" around 230 lb but I would say that my weight is pretty evenly distributed throughout my body. I do have big legs however so the shin guards were a little invasive but nothing too bad.
Extremely helpful showing the dimensions of the guy at the end. I’m 5’10 and 265 and barely make it on these RMCS. If I drop 20 pounds I wouldn’t even have to worry about it.
I’m 6 foot one. I got down to 250 pounds to ride steel vengeance the fifth week it was open and it was still mad tight for me so you are 100% correct on RMC not being fat people friendly
Thank you so much for putting out this content. First time I’ve seen one of your videos, but I think it’s really important to cover these topics as RMCs can be very difficult to fit into. In my own experience with several RMCs, each seat on the train varies from the next. Sometimes it’s the seatbelt, sometimes it’s the sensor on the lap bar. You can fit in one spot earlier in the day and then do the walk of shame later on in the afternoon. Keep up the hard work
I've heard this roller coaster has some pretty crazy ejector airtime moments so I guess Busch Gardens/RMC are playing it safe by having the restraints so tight. Good luck on your weight loss journey man 🙂
If it's anything like Untamed in the Netherlands, there's restraint indicator lights on the trains but they're on the back of the cars so if you're on an uneven row, you can see what the two rows in front of you are doing with their lap bars but the only indication you have for yourself is whether or not they lock. I'm 191cm tall and 90kg and my main complaint with the seats are the tiny footwells on the even numbered rows, compounded by the shin guards. For me the rest of the seats are snug but not bothersome.
Wow!! My friend got on the Iron Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and he is a big guy. But I understand about your size you don’t want to fall off the ride.
The only RMC I've ever ridden is Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point which I was able to fit on the first year it came out. When I went to ride it last year the test seat didn't even come close to closing. The first time I bypassed the test seat and didn't try it out first. The ride op did have to push down hard to get it to lock, and the ride itself though one of the best coasters I ever rode, was uncomfortable as my stomach was pinched hard the whole ride. I'm 5'9", 250lbs and have been for a few years so I didn't think I had gotten any larger from the first year SV was open to 2 years later when I went to ride it again. I don't know if test seats are less forgiving and ride ops are able to push down and get the seats to latch where the test seat says no, but I didn't feel like standing in line for an hour to find out that I wouldn't fit and have to do the walk of shame off the ride. Lol
Thank you so much for your videos, I’m going to Orlando in March for the first time any trick or tips as a plus size person I would appreciate it. I will definitely be rewatching your past videos about universal studios and island of adventure test seats
I’m going in a couple weeks! I’m a bit afraid of not fitting, but I just fit on Twisted Cyclone at Six Flags Over Georgia so hopefully I can fit on here again. It was also a right squeeze for me on Lightning Rod at Dollywood. I don’t care if I’m stapled, I just want to ride this at least once to say I did
Need more of this. Being 6’2 / 270 / I have a hard time on getting on rides. At six flags I can’t ride Batman, Riddlers, and Superman. I juuuuusssst made it to Twisted Colossus after a ton of help. This is super helpful! Thank you!
Have only fit on an RMC once in my weight journeys, fortunately it was one ride on SteVe. I hope to be at a weight and shape to get on Gwazi this spring. When I am fat it is my belly. When I am in shape, it is my thighs. It is so conservative because their very first coaster had a large rider ejected. Thanks as always for the content. Enjoy you and Koda's videos.
thanks for the vid . the whole " restraint tradeoff" here is that you experience the freedom of no shoulder restraint. im 5 11 with short 30" inseam and your shins are really locked in on IG !!!!
I was there yesterday as well I saw you just stuck in line could not get to say hi I really wanted to talk to you but anyway I'm a bigger guy and I was able to fit I'm 5'11 and I am currently 268lbs it was a little tight I also did not need any friendship to get in I was comfortable the whole time on the ride I carry almost all my weight in my gut
This is the comment I was looking for in 5 foot 9 and 230 I was worried I wouldn’t fit but it’s on now lol. I do have muscular legs though so I still got to worry about the shin restraints lol. When it opens to the public I’ll be trying to get on. Still going to try to lose a few pounds before
Thank you for these videos! Gwazi was the first time in my life I could not fit on a ride . I am 5’6 and 250 lbs with much of that in my legs and thighs and I just couldn’t get the green. However I saw people who were much larger but with smaller lower half’s being able to so body composition is very big for this ride. Hopfully I can experience it soon !
Thanks a mill for filming always appreciate how open and honest you are about the fit on the rides it’s really gives people a realistic expectation as to whether it will work for them or not. 👍👍👍 hopefully we will both manage it soon!
I'm 6'3 305 and this was killing my legs but it was pretty fun, don't think I'd do it again tho unless I lose more weight, the bigger seat is by the back, ask the cast member
Looks exactly like the Steel Vengeance seat, so if they are in fact the same requirements I'll add in my experience on that one as a help out. I'm 6'0" 225-230 lbs and although very tight I do fit in that style RMC. Most of my weight is in my belly, my thighs and rear aren't overly large for my frame, but my belly sticks out from my front noticeably. I found Steel Vengeance tight on my gut and i definitely require a minor staple job, but its tolerable. The ride experience earlier in the day definitely beat up my thighs a fair amount, my ride later on in the day found me literally breathless in spots. It knocked the wind out of me. I'm nit sure if Iron Gwazi is as intense as SteVe, but if it is and you are similar to me in Size expect a fun intense ride, but be prepared to lose your breath on the ejector airtime spots. Hope this helps some of you and I wish you all the best of luck with IG.
Love your channel very informative. Question do they have a test seat outside of the park to test? I would hate to buy an entrance ticket to find out I don't fit. Thanks for the great content!
This is my home park and I can assure you that they have several other coasters and attractions that can accommodate bigger people. Plus, it is one of the most beautiful theme parks in the world. Even if you can't get on Iron Gwazi, I guarantee you that you will still have a great time there.
Thank you so much for making these videos it’s a deal breaker for me if we wanted to go this weekend whether or not me and my son could fit on this and he always matches up with you
I'm 5'10 265lbs and I failed the test seat but decided to take a chance gettin on the ride and I MADE IT ON with no problems. The test seat wasn't accurate at all!
I’m a very small 4’11 person. I feel like RMC’s newer trains were designed for me. My husband is a bigger guy and sometimes fits into RMCs. Thighs are a struggle area in RMC so he has to make sure he wears gym shorts instead of his usual zipper pocket cargo shorts.
6’ 320 guy. Test seat was a no go. Waited in line with the family in hopes I could get on. Seatbelt wasn’t a problem. The team couldn’t get the green light for the lap bar. Gonna lose the lbs so I can ride with my daughter. They said that the ride was insane and I need to get on. This was in 3/18/22
I know from experience the even number rows are more accommodating. The seatbelt is tight on me in row 11 but not row 12. I also heard that the lap bars don’t have to be down as far in the even number rows
(Sharing my experience here). I'm 5' 5" and 250 lbs - thick thighs have led to a few close calls where I was almost not able to fit in the seat. For Iron Gwazi, I got the seatbelt on just fine. But I need the operator to give me an extra push to get the lap bar all the way down. Otherwise, no further issues. I was mortified on Kumba because the seats are so narrow and my rear end was barely contacting the seat bottom. Sheikra was a bit of a tight squeeze as well. No problems at all with Cheetah Hunt and Cobra's Curse
Absolutely love to see this type of content! Very informative. I’ve been on a total of 4 RMCs. In order they’ve been Twisted Timbers, Steel Vengeance, Iron Rattler, and Wonder Woman Golden Lasso. As far as Timbers at the time of riding I was 5’ 10” 290lbs. Test seat and station seat were a breeze. Was able to load myself. SV was last summer in 2021. 5’ 10” and 305lbs. Test seat was a fight but the station seat was easier. The tests seats seem to be spring loaded so they always come back up. So you’re always fighting it. The split second and I mean split second I got the green on SV the ride attendant let up off the the restraint and said “oh you might fit”. I marched up to the station and it only took one small push to get me in. They definitely make the test seats more difficult. Which brings me to the gerstlauer RMC trains on Iron Rattler. Winter 2021. Same height, 310lbs. Test seat, same story. Put the bar down to see the minimum and it was unreal. But at this time the ride attendant at the entrance to Rattler saw me and said “Yea the ride vehicle seats are much more forgiving.” She said the sensors are way off and not close to the real thing. Get to the station and the seats were stupid comfortable and such an easy fit. I could load myself with no extra push or help. Which is rare on other RMCs. So gerstlauer RMC trains, in my one experience, easy fit. Both times I rode it. Very consistent with the fit. Then WWGL was same day and measurements. Very easy fit with room to spare. But the constant in all these experiences, the station seats were always more comfortable and felt more accommodating. You’re spot on about the proportions and distribution. If it’s not one things it the other. So to anyone who made it this far, don’t always trust the test seats. If you have the time I recommend giving it a shot. Especially if you think it’s close. And if it’s not, oh well! Use that as fuel to lose the weight and get that redemption ride! That’s what I did. Best wishes to you and anyone else on their journey!
I'm 6-0", 245 lbs. and 48" around my gut. I can ride but a ride operator needs to give the restraint a little extra nudge on me to get the green light. The airtime moments do put extra pressure on my stomach, so I ride before mealtime. Still worth the ride. Working on dropping some weight myself so I don't have to be stapled.
New subscriber. This is my home park also. Just moved back home from California. This will be my third rmc. Joker and twisted Colossus are my other RMC credits!!
Looks fun! You definitely have to add steel vengeance from cedar point to you list (: Our group struggles because of my guys height, he's 6 foot 6. It's terrifying to go on coasters with him.. I recommend Including height limits in future videos please!
yeah i am somewhere in that area too.. heavy tall boi.. over shoulder restraints are horrible. (the flex type restraints are fine though) and i can probably forget getting on some of the suspended coasters..
Goliath at SF Great America was my first RMC. I was locked in and the person in the control booth pointed to my car and flagged a ride attendant. I knew they were coming for me. Turns out it was the person in my car in front of me. I was 6’1” and 260 lbs at the time. Now that I am up to 300 lb I’m not even going to try Iron Gwazi. Never got to ride orignal Gwazi because I was much larger back then and had to be removed from the ride vehicle and it was so embarrassing. Goliath was crazy and I always felt like I was going to come out of my seat. That’s one reason why I’m reluctant to try Velocicoaster.
Great coverage! I didn't realize just how low the restraints on this ride have to go, that's insane.
Yo Ryan I’m a big fan
Bruh in line today there was literally 5 times where the operators had to press the restraints down to fit fat people
@@Kingcommaalex i feel like these restraints need more of push towards the stomach rather than down on the lap bar.
It's for safety reasons
I love how you express your body with no shame, keep it up one day you get to ride
Let's just say it's tight for a good reason because the coaster doesn't have a over the shoulder harness, so it be scary to fall out
But again keep it up man you got it
Lap bars don't really need to be tight
@@Steven._.. Yes they do, especially when your going upside down.
@@DestiniJ and on an RMC in general 😂

Because 5’6 and 205 pounds isn’t even close to being fat…
@@hannahnoelle1362 its all proportion
Damn. I'm 6'1 260
Yeah, that's what I'm worried about.
Hope this helps in the future.
wow.
Sheikra is also like that at Busch Gardens Tampa. I tested the test seat and felt fine and then on the actual ride it was way tighter.
It’s a common safety protocol on all wooden coasters and on other coasters that require seatbelts.
exactly
From experience on other RMCs, the lap bar is the bigger issue than the seat belt. I've seen people who have gotten the belt to click, but not get the lap bar down. I haven't seen the opposite.
Shout out to Tony!!! Thanks for being on cam👏👏👏
You're welcome. If my experience can help someone else ride, I'm grateful.
Hey there, I am 329lbs about 6 feet tall and I can buckle the belt and can ride with some help from the ride ops. Please also note that I have yet to experience a test seat that was accurate. This particular test seat is much lower than the actual trains.
lol i have the total opposite problem im trying to gain weight
So the IG test seat required more of a push to get a green than the actual ride?
@@tysongriffin4580 No, test seats in general are tighter than the actual ride vehicles on the attraction.
That's good to know!
Yeah it was not accurate at all
I've worked at about 6 parks in my time in the industry and about half of that was in ride ops.
Now, I can get on both!
oh , def! i have little bodyfat but im 5 11" 220 . my quads and calfs make this a little cramped but worth it!!!
Hey @@Roberta_Esposito👋 Can you give me a guestimation on how many inches your thighs are? If it's not TOO personal?.?.
Thank you so much for sharing this and your other test seat videos. Really helpful for all of us bigger folks out there!
RMC's are so fun!! You're almost there, just a little push, and you'll be able to ride. You got this!
I really appreciate you showing how the train gets loaded, it really helped me with some questions i had about seat picking availability on Gwazi!
this is a genuinely incredible insight into accessibility and accomodation on roller coasters. i am 6’3 and weigh just about 230 lbs, so i havent had all that much trouble on the RMCs ive been on. this was a very eye-opening video. i wish you much luck on your weight loss journey!
I watched Tim Tracker's test seat video. Even he was having issues because of his height. I hope as you lose weight you are able to ride.
Can't wait to see your video after you are able to ride it. Just keep pushing!!!
This video really hits the nail on the head. I know so many people who can't ride roller coasters because of their size. I think the roller coaster industry as a whole should really think about this when it comes to the planning and manufacturing of their trains. Everyone who wants to ride should be able to do so safely and comfortably, especially if they're paying to get into the park!
agree!!!!
@@VicenzoVagreed, that's their fault for over eating, hopefully it's a type of motivation for some people to lose weight.
I feel like out of all the coaster companies RMC makes the most restrictive restraints.
cried today after having to walk off because i couldn't fit on this ride :( sat by myself, waiting for my friends who went ahead and continued with the ride. i don't think i've ever been more embarrassed. thank you for this video & helping out other big people!
sorry you felt embarrassed that day. it happens more often than you think. believe me when i say no one is judging you. safety is the priority.
Just lose weight
Rode it today im 5'10 230 more muscle than fat and my brother 5'11 about 250 we both hardly got the green light on the test seats. Now, i have to say we tried the test seats and theyre not accurate. There is more room on the ride bc my little brother rode with his fanny pack on. So dont be too discouraged you may fit.
i simply flop my fanny pack over / to the side of the lap bar ...not bad
I enjoy watching your videos because I love the honesty and information you put out there. Thanks and keep it coming.
Thanks for all the information!! Keep it up!
Good luck David.
I've been SOOOOOOO waiting for this. Thank you ☺️ 💞 I've gained weight recently so quite concerned about what I will and perhaps will not fit on. It's nice of you to actually do these kind of videos. Alot of people love to bodyshame for no reason and it's awesome to see you giving no fs abt the potential mean comments. Love your informative videos Adrian! Like you said, just a ride to have as an end goal for your weight loss journey! 🙌
Yep, my cousin is 6’4 and hates rmcs because of that
As someone who is 5’2” and 145 pounds when I’m not pregnant, it’s not your height causing the bruised thighs and shins, it’s the forces.
I love that you make these videos. Everyone should feel comfortable and it's helpful to know what to expect.

Just went on it today, 5’ 8” 285 pounds and they got me on just had to ouch the lap bar down a little more than I could pull it. 😎🤟
Thanks for the guide, they look very snug . When we finally go I will film a test seat fitting as you suggested

6’0” 315-pounder here and the ride attendant was able to staple me in. I’d maybe say give it a go on an off-day, Adrian.
Thank you for your honesty and for doing these videos.
I went to the park this past Tuesday and the restraints were surprisingly comfortable for me. I'm 6'0" around 230 lb but I would say that my weight is pretty evenly distributed throughout my body. I do have big legs however so the shin guards were a little invasive but nothing too bad.
agree on shin restraint.... i have to think about something else before dispatch bc claustrophobia will kill me
Extremely helpful showing the dimensions of the guy at the end.
I’m 5’5 130 lbs and got bruises on my legs from the bars in this ride
Thank you so much for putting out this content. First time I’ve seen one of your videos, but I think it’s really important to cover these topics as RMCs can be very difficult to fit into. In my own experience with several RMCs, each seat on the train varies from the next. Sometimes it’s the seatbelt, sometimes it’s the sensor on the lap bar. You can fit in one spot earlier in the day and then do the walk of shame later on in the afternoon. Keep up the hard work
As weight loss is never easy but it’s also so rewarding!
I've heard this roller coaster has some pretty crazy ejector airtime moments so I guess Busch Gardens/RMC are playing it safe by having the restraints so tight.
Good luck on your weight loss journey man 🙂
absolutely! im five minutes away from IG / BGT and if it didnt have belts / lap bar / shin bar youd be GONE!!
For me the rest of the seats are snug but not bothersome.
shin / footwell ,,,,,, true
Lol
This is actually very helpful! Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for your videos, I’m going to Orlando in March for the first time any trick or tips as a plus size person I would appreciate it. I will definitely be rewatching your past videos about universal studios and island of adventure test seats

Good to know. I didn’t know there was a bigger seat
@@Bnizzofashizzo calling BS
@@Roberta_Esposito you shouldn’t. In the middle of their train there is! It worked for me
I'm 6'6" and weigh 310 pounds. as someone who is hoping to get on steel vengeance soon, this video was incredibly helpful. thanks!
Love this video!!! also the guy you interviewed used to be my senior year math teacher, Mr. Davis.
This will just give you fuel to hit those goals ! Thank you so much for sharing =)
Je suis passer a zadra une fois qui a les même retenue mais j était super serré et 3 fois je ne suis pas passé
Sadly no. All the test seats are inside the park at their attraction entrances
This is my home park and I can assure you that they have several other coasters and attractions that can accommodate bigger people. Plus, it is one of the most beautiful theme parks in the world. Even if you can't get on Iron Gwazi, I guarantee you that you will still have a great time there.
Thank you so much for making these videos it’s a deal breaker for me if we wanted to go this weekend whether or not me and my son could fit on this and he always matches up with you
Great video adrian! Very detailed 👌
I'm 5'10 265lbs and I failed the test seat but decided to take a chance gettin on the ride and I MADE IT ON with no problems. The test seat wasn't accurate at all!
I'm pretty sure the test seat is more strict than the actual train which kind of makes sense
It is.
LET'S GO BOLTS! Nice hat my guy!
This was in 3/18/22
Any update ?
I’ve gained a little weight since riding my last RMC so 🤞🏼🤞🏼 I can ride next month!! -Peyton
I’m 5’5” too so I could totally film myself sitting in the test seat too for you to see!
These videos are so so so important, thank you so much for providing us with content like this.
Really cool meeting you yesterday. Hope you meet your goals.
Excellent video Adrian!!!! Thank you for sharing!!! 🥰🥰🥰
5'5 164, I fit perfectly. The ride was amazing. Great video my friend!
Great coverage and in bringing this to light
Thanks so much. This was so informative. Great job bud!
Guess I’ll be sticking to the Serengeti Express
Great video thanks for the informative coverage
Thank you so much for posting this
The new Intamin style of restraints like on Velocicoaster needs to be the industry standard.
Iron rattler in six flags is a tight ride also. It's built by the same folks
Another detailed and informative video! Love it
New subscriber. This is my home park also. Just moved back home from California. This will be my third rmc. Joker and twisted Colossus are my other RMC credits!!
Looks fun! You definitely have to add steel vengeance from cedar point to you list (:
Our group struggles because of my guys height, he's 6 foot 6.
Great Vlog. Thanks for sharing x
Two chubs on my train had to jump off.
They're gonna have a good time dealing with this!
