Some thoughts on the rides without test seats. For context I don’t want to say my size but I’m bigger than you, both height and weight. I am starting Wegovy though so it’s been decreasing. Currently, I can fit on comet, trailblazer, sooperdooperlooper, Wild Mouse, and Skyrush. So basically the older family coasters and the most intense one in the park and nothing in between (yet). I don’t get it either lol - Comet - seatbelt and bar, it’s pretty forgiving if your weight is in your gut but the seat divider makes the seats very narrow. If your weight is primarily in your hips or waist you might have a rough time. My weight is in my gut and it was still tight. It was actually tougher getting out than in because I was wedged in there so well Soooerdooperlooper - lap bar. Pretty forgiving. There is a red gauge at the bottom of the lap bar but how far in it has to be seems inconsistent with when they give me an extra push and when they don’t. Regardless I’ve never been able to not ride Trailblazer - technically it “may not accommodate larger people” in reality the guy in front of me in line had the bar just resting at the top of his gut with no effort at all to push it down further (if you’re reading test seat comments you’re familiar enough to know what I mean) and the attendants didn’t even say a thing. It’s a mild runaway mine train type coaster and they don’t seem concerned. Jolly Rancher remix - pretty forgiving. I feel like the last time I went I could have fit if I had a stronger attendant willing to push down more but it wouldn’t have been comfortable. I’m down about five pounds since so I expect to fit next time. Wild mouse - it’s a wild mouse. I fit, it was snug and needed a push but I fit. But it’s also nothing different than any other wild mouse so if you can’t, nothing major lost. Lightning Racer - the right side is more forgiving I’m told. If you stand up while putting on the seat belt and then sink into it. It’s easier to get it closed but if you have to do that (especially sitting by yourself) you probably won’t get the lap bar down I think that’s it. I haven’t really tried the flat rides too much. The music express was outright painful and I won’t be going on that until I drop more Also the water park (which for those who haven’t been there is part of the park, not separately ticketed) has specific weight limited on most of their slides. Those are all listed in their accessibility guide which is on their website and you can search for. I don’t remember what they all are because I’m too self conscious to walk around in a swim suit right now anyway. It was mostly 300 or sometimes 250 for single rider slides and some had no single riders and a combined weight limit for the group.
Update to this - today I rode Lightning Racers and I only got one click. I was expecting to get kicked off but the guy was like “nah you’re fine unless you want me to push it in more” With that said, I went up a dose on Wegovy yesterday so I’m going to wait to ride that again until I lose a few more because I was too scared it would come loose to enjoy it 😂😂
I’ve never been to Hershey but I’m going today, for groups on slides, do they make you have more then 2? Me and my bf weigh about 500 together so we fit the criteria for the 700 lbs limit on group rides but I don’t want a random going with us if you know what I mean.
I just got back from Hershey today. Of the coasters that I went on (Jolly Rancher, Great Bear, Lightning Racers-the green one on the left so Thunder?, and Trailblazer), the only one I had an issue on was Lightning Racer and the attendants were really helpful.
It takes a really strong man to go on film and say "this is what I weigh and this is how I fit in these rides". They aren't flattering at all but you sir do it to help others. You have my utmost respect sir.
I've lost about 85 pounds now and many inches (60+ inch hips to 51 inch hips, 48 inch waist to 38 inches) and I'm steadily reaching a point where test seats aren't a worry for me anymore. I have a metabolism disorder, so it's been a years-long journey. But I still like to be prepared because tbh I'm bottom heavy and it's still kind of a crapshoot sometimes! We're both getting there, I started at about where you are now (310, down to 225). The new confidence I have at theme parks is invaluable to me, and videos like yours are priceless in prepping me and others like us, and helping us to enjoy our time. thank you!!
I found my body measurements from around the time. I went last time and had to get off a few coasters, including storm runner. My current measurements are lower than what they were around the time. I went so hopefully next year. If I lose a little bit more. I'll be able to get on and ride those coasters.
@@notdoctorqnot necessarily. I live slightly closer to great adventure and Dorney park than Hersheypark but I come to Hershey so much more because there’s more I can do. Skyrush is the most extreme ride I can fit on in any park by a wide wide margin. And there’s quite a few milder coasters I can go on as well. However Fahrenheit and Storm Rusher are just ridiculously restrictive and I’m not sure why. Those will be the last two I fit into no question
Saw an old man on Tuesday that wasn't even that big, couldn't ride Fahrenheit with the young girl he was with. She was tougher than I was as a kid cause she actually stayed on despite her relative being kicked off 😂
I absolutely love this video. I’m a big girl myself and I’m too afraid of rollercoasters due to a very traumatic experience as a kid. But even in other rides I was too worried to try in case I didn’t fit 😅
As a big guy looking at a possible trip to an amusement park later this year, I have a question. When you find success in the test seat, but it's just barely, do you feel safe riding the ride? I know they'll let you on, but do you feel safe?
I’m 6”2 285ish maybe 290 I’m supposed to be going to Hershey park Wednesday coming up but I’m paranoid about not fitting on WCR Storm runner Fahrenheit sky rush I don’t want to pay the money and end up not being able to ride those coasters
You said about Great Bear being the only 3 click B&M invert after the belt being strapped in but Montu at Busch Tampa you need those 3 clicks too. I'm proof of that as I went last week. It's got to do with the older models of B&M inverted coasters.
You are the man! Im a big guy & I'm going to Hershey Park today. I've been wondering if I'm gonna fit some of this stuff & what you showed will be a big help.
I just started wegovy so im hoping it works for me. I haven't been on coasters in years... When will you make an update video on your weight loss? I wanna knit what foods and exercises your doing recently
At 5'8" 255 pounds (and loving it but also still loving rollercoasters), I really appreciate you doing these videos. I think I can still fit on most coasters but there are definitely some on which I can't fit (and I am okay with that). This gives me more of an idea on which ones I can still fit on, so thank you!!
I was 6’4 360 pounds and last season I couldn’t ride a single roller coaster in the park!!! this season I am 6’5 325 pounds and I can fit on everything except storm runner and Fahrenheit, the shoulder straps just aren’t forgiving on height
I can relate to not being able to ride due to size. Last year at 6 Flags Over Texas couldn't ride half the rides I wanted to due to restraints feeling uncomfortable. So I'm on a weight loss journey to be able to return to 6 Flags Over Texas. Although I would love to visit Hershey Park soon. Does Hershey Park still have the Sidewinder?
I really have to congratulate and thank you for doing these services so that some of us larger size riders will know what we can and can’t ride for me I am 280 pounds 6 feet and have had trouble fitting on things in the past. I’m honestly surprised it seems like the rides that have the most issues are probably storm Runner and Fahrenheit.
Wait a minute, you said that on Great Bear has to get three clicks even though the safety belt fits? You got the green light on Hershey's Tower, you should ride it, I fit on Power Tower both sides at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio with a green light and safety belt fits. I rode Steel Vegeanace at Cedar Point, same to Wildcats revenge.
I tried the seat for Goliath recently, that damn belt lol I think I had the green and clicks for the lap/shin restraint but I couldn’t get the buckle at all.
You are brave i went to Hershey Park a few years ago and i fit on NOTHING at all and i was way smaller back than. I just watched my kids ride i did enjoy the Hershey museum and the lil ride at the big candy store
I had the same issue the last time I was there. Hey what's kind of embarrassing being a first time of it happening Couldn't ride storm runner didn't even try Fahrenheit because they're the same. Couldn't ride the great bear, barely fit on laff track Was able to ride sky rush. This was july of 2017 Hoping to lose enough weight to go back and ride these rides. I've never been on fahrenheit or candymonium. Have you tried roller coasters at knoebels.
I don't think it was at Hershey Park, but Coaster College did an accident review of a drop tower accident where the restraint was broken so it showed as closed when it wasn't, and the ride runners were telling passengers it was "more accommodating to larger riders".
@@drowsypoppyI think that’s the one he’s referring to. It wasn’t Hershey but they don’t want to take risks and I’m glad they don’t as frustrating as it is for me
that's interesting that the drop tower has a weight limit. I rode the reese's tower once and got stuck on the ride for a few minutes and they had to call maintenance. Apparently the ride faulted because the car was overweight so they had to let one side off and wait for the next cycle. I'm an average sized guy but they didn't appear to weigh anyone before getting on the ride. or maybe that's a new rule because of ride shutdowns from the car being too heavy idk lol.
For Storm Runner and Farenheit I'm convinced Hershey made the belts shorter. I'm 5'11, 280 pounds and can't get on those two now but could when I was 310 pounds. And I've done that same restraint on Maverick, Kingda Ka, Cheetah Chase, etc and only these two are no good. So annoying because it's just that two and a few years ago was fine and was the same weight as now.
Sometimes it's state requirements. That's why Dragster and Kingda Ka have different restraints. New Jersey wouldn't allow the T-Bars that Dragster had do to NJ law Vs Ohio law
The intamim over the shoulder restraints are really weird cause they feel different on every coaster. Like i easily fit on maverick and I305. But i barely fit on Cheetah hunt.
As a former season pass holder, Skyrush has the most terrible seat restraints I've ever dealt with. Not only does it squash your legs to be tight enough to ride, but it actually gets tighter as the ride progresses. By the end of the ride your legs are actually numb.

Laff Trakk has very weird seats. It must be designed for kids? There is no foot room. I'm 5'7" and have to cross my legs to squeeze in. I don't know how people closer to 6' get in.
Yeah Fahrenheit and Storm Runner have awful seat straps. It’s not even about being “fat”. If you are even muscular with broad shoulders and a big chest, you still won’t fit on these seats.
i find it funny how people say that roller coasters without seatbelts are too dangerous because they dont have seatbelts . i tell then that the seatbelts are pretty useless on any coaster.

You’d think being a chocolate themed park, they would be a bit more accommodating to those sporting a larger diameter.
I'd go so far to say they're slightly hostile! Storm Runner actually got its seatbelts shortened by a considerable amount a few years ago.
