Just to explain a bit; Powder didn’t notice she dropped one of the orbs since it fell out of her bag so she wouldn’t realize right away that there was any connection to the explosion. If anything, she maybe thought the guy behind the door blew something up when he was trying to break back into his room. Either way, this show is a masterpiece so keep watching it!
One of the things I love most about this show is how they don't expect you to already know anything about the League of Legends world before watching it. All the questions you asked during this video do have answers, and the show will give them to you as long as you're patient and attentive. Also, I'm glad you're going to go back and rewatch episodes so you don't have to worry about your reactions distracting you from noticing some of those answers.
Great reaction! I just want to clarify a couple of things (no spoilers): Piltover is one city, but divided by the river Pilt into 2 parts. Topside is the "real city", while Undercity (located partially underground) is where the resources are mined and waste is dumped. Both air and water in the Undercity are polluted by all the industry located topside (naturally, all the junk flows down) and poisonous gases from mines. The air is breathable, but long term exposure will probably cause sickness of some severity, depending on how lucky you are. So, topsiders have to wear masks, while Undercity dwellers... nobody cares about them anyway. Water is even worse, that is main reason why diving for the loot is not an option. Overall, the world of Runeterra is completely unrelated to real world, is extremely vast and varied. Part where Piltover is loceted obviously goes for steampunk aesthetics.
this show is absolutely packed with visual storytelling and parallels, so much so that the more I watch other reactions the more I notice stuff i haven't before

I don't recommend checking it out now because it's mega spoilers all the way through, but Schnee does AMAZING analysis of everything in Arcane. Every scene in arcane being important is lowkey true and schnees analysis/breakdown really puts it to light Again tho, don't check him out yet, you still have a whole season to analyze yourself :p
3:25 iirc, the people who created the models traditional 2d techniques to give the models the look they had in the show (hand painting them) A lot of love got put into this show artistically, I'm happy you pointed out the style already
Amazing show, all the way through! In case you're curious, some info that is hinted at but not directly addressed in the show: this setting is not ALL steampunk. In fact, most of the world is more of a traditional fantasy setting. But this city specifically was built by scientists to be at the forefront of technological advancement and invention
OH MY GOD I'm so excited to see you react to this series. For sure one of the best animated series of all time in my opinion. And yeah you don't have to know anything about League of Legends, I didn't and still don't lol.
The only music you need to worry about is the opening theme "Enemy" because Imagine Dragons owns that one. But the rest of the music from the show is free to use. Riot does not copyright claim their content and they produced all of the music for the show in house. Edit as you normally would to avoid any issues with Netflix, but if there happens to be music playing you don't need to mute it. The music is such an integral part for this show that it is great hearing it in reaction vids.
If someone's is salty about a couple of characters being attracted to each other who are also of the same sex then life outside of their basement may be a little hard for them. Just sayin
Probably heard of the term "Steampunk"? A sci-fi subgenre with old tech but somehow more advanced than ours. Other movies and shows I think of are Mortal Engines, Treasure Planet, and Fullmetal Alchemist.
this show is such incredible story telling AND we get insane animation and art style, great sound track, and an incredible group of voice actors. truly a feast. hope you enjoy my dude
the slowmo fight scene is so awesome. you can feel the weight of the animation so well, so realistically. and poor powder freezing up as a trauma response, that fight reminiscent of the battle field.
someone already probably explained the universe but hey you get more points on youtube with more comments. arcane is great because they set you up for a bunch of movie/show tropes to get you to fall for what you THINK is going to happen and they tastefully show you it's something a WHOLE lot more. this show is only a TASTE of the potential lore that League can put out... but back to the universe... it takes place somewhere else and potentially some TIME else. the earthlike planet they live on is runeterra, and you see different races and types of people in runeterra because, frankly, there SHOULD be races that aren't of this world on another world. it's actually more surprising to me that the people resemble humans. some of the characters are in the game and some aren't. none of this is surface-level knowledge from League. i'm a nerd that went out of his way to explore the LORE of the game, but even I was super surprised at some of the reveals. the lore that's out there isn't comprehensive (and that's on purpose). it's so they can add and colour details of characters' timelines later on if they want to do an addendum... but they've done such a good job of connecting all 160-something (probably 170+ by now) characters in the same universe (but mostly all on runeterra, more specifically). riot releases new cannon content through different forms, whether it be in the character description in-game, different vfx lines for characters, different character interactions in-game, or in a comic series, or a book about the history of runeterra, or the various cinematics they've released... through all these mediums they expand. it's such a cool idea i think, but that's my opinion. it leaves you wanting more, which is a really cool thing they did at the end of every episode of this show, too. it's pure art. really frickin good art. the music, the characters, the story, the voice actors, the fact that you can pause the show anywhere and make the freeze frame a friggin POSTER. i hope you put more people onto this, and i'm super jealous that you will only need to wait a month or 2 for season 2... but keep watching. this show, man. you won't be able to name one that has ever done a better job. i can't, if i'm truly being honest with myself... and it's years after i'd seen it.

Arcane videos are gonna be a little rocky until September, I have faith I can get in a good groove and (probably) get caught up for Season 2! It does depend on my work schedule though. I haven't finished the show either, I prefer recording as I go along. It helps with motivation.

I won't spoil anything since you haven't watched ahead, but I'm definitely looking forward to episode 3 and beyond. While the first couple episodes aren't bad by any means, they are mostly setup and I typically skip over them when watching Arcane reactions. I think starting at episode 3 is pretty common for many people who watch Arcane reactions too. This is when Arcane goes to 11 and it doesn't let up. 😁

Episode 1 is probabaly on balance the most average of the series, and it is still a really good episode - the rest just get better and better.
