Shohreh Aghdashloo is that voice and it is an amazing voice for an amazing actress. She has a pretty major role in the series "The Expanse." REALLY good series if you haven't seen it already. Hard Science Fiction with a lot of intrigue. 6 seasons, but each season is 10-13 episodes mostly with a 6 episode 6th season that wraps things up for now. Based on best selling novels with the Authors consulting and doing a lot of the writing for the show as well. I really think you would enjoy it.
@funnylilgalreacts this comment is 100% facts. You gotta watch the expanse if you haven't already. You did say you love you some sci-fi, and The Expanse is probably the best in its decade.
I went into this show the same way. The only thing I knew was it was based off a video game. This show caught me so off guard on many different levels. All the music in this show was created for the show (including the theme by Imagine Dragons) with the exception of one song that was made years ago for a League of Legends promo. I won’t go into details on which song for spoiler reasons. Riot Games makes insanely incredible music and music videos you should check out after the series. A little info to the origin of the city (broken down): Its location is on a "small" landscape between valoran (the northern continent) and the shuriman continent (southern continent). This location is possibly the best spot for a trading city, but there was no way to get the ships from the eastern side to the western side. So to make shipping a lot easier the city wanted to blow a hole inside a mountain (which seperates the two continents) with chemical bombs to create a passage for the ships. Unluckily they miscalculated the explosion what led to a terrible catastrophy causing one half of the city to sink down into a hole while the other side just watched. Not only were a lot of people dying, but the hole was also filled with the chemicals of the bombs (thats why the air is so bad there). While the one half of the city was struggling to survive, the other half made profit due to the new river called "Pilt". Nowdays the upper half of the city is called Piltover (coming from "over the river Pilt") and was made from the ritch for the ritch, while the other half is known as "Undercity"(but still is part of Piltover) where the poor and criminal live. Led out some more details to avoid any spoilers + the series arcane is not officially canon. (Also spare my poor english lol)
The word “arcane” means “understood by few; mysterious or secret”. For example a fraternity or secret society may have “arcane rituals” that they use when inducting new members or for other reasons. It’s also frequently used to refer to some types of magic, because magic is (usually) something that only a very small number of people understand. (If there is “common” magic, that would usually not be “arcane”, and sometimes specific types of magic like elemental magic are differentiated from arcane magic as well.)
You seem like a sensitive soul. Sensitive souls make the best reaction videos. Can't wait for more Arcane episodes from you! And then after this series you should react to the Leage of legends Cinematics, and then the K/DA music videos. I've never played the game, don't plan to either, but the story/lore behind it all is pretty facinating. So don't worry about having had or needing to play the game, there's no need. Just enjoy it all for the lore an universe.
The less you know, the better it is for right now I would tell ya. That said, and to stay the heck away from any spoilers... I do recommend AFTER this series you check out the actual game cinematics. There are a lot by now but obviously won't take long to bang out and I am sure you'll be really craving to learn more by that time anyways. The vast majority have their own art style and are just as interesting and well made. Legends of Runeterra is also part of it and has some really nice reference pieces so you get a little glimpse of the world around Piltover etc etc. Each are vastly different with their own cultures and history. The music is definitely a jam. I too listen to League music for working out, or working, or just chilling. Based on what you've said already, I can almost guarantee you will be adding a bunch of new songs to your playlist. For Arcane, each song was specifically written for that episode. And the orchestra is just Riot's own employees that were asked if they also could play an instrument and wanted to make a band together. Can't wait till you check out some of their actual legit music videos and whole albums for their fake bands made of characters from.the game. One of them, Pentakill was on the top metal charts. It's just wild. Riot is in a really good spot to be the next Disney/Marvel (and whatever genre of music honestly) if they keep up the love and care and passion they have shown over the past decade. Welcome to the World of Runeterra! :)
I also dont know anything about League of Legends, but when the trailer dropped the animation pulled me in, I was in for a surprise as the story is awesome too, I cant wait for the next season!
I’m going to give you the same warning I give most of the reactors…..please be aware of the comment section. It’s a bunch of idiots out here, who like to spoil upcoming episodes. Just be aware because it’s way more enjoyable going in not knowing what to expect.
@@MrWillsonx thats fine if its ambiguous. I have recommended this show to a lot of people and i always tell them to give it three episodes before deciding whether to watch it all. I dont consider that spoilery, i just think sometimes people need to know if a show is slow to take off or what have you. Not that this one is slow, i mean in general
All your questions will be answered later in the show...if you watch to the end, but there will be new ones and cliffhangers also...so I do not answer not to spoiler. I agree to most of your comments and the way you presented them. Hope that you continue with your reactions, like the way you did it - thanks for the work and your thoughts.
27:30 about your question here; this is just based on the characters and relatively loosely on the lore around them from League of Legends. There are very few easter eggs you'll notice as a league fan, so it's very welcoming to outside people. It's like an extension of league the same way bad batch is an extension of star wars we saw in the first 3 eps, but with a less established lore to ground itself in.
My family summered in a place where people commonly didn’t lock their front doors (this was in the 1990’s). It wasn’t because it was an island full stupid people who didn’t have anything worth protecting, but people felt safe. I feel sorry for anyone who’s never known that profound sense of safety in a community.
Vi and Powder are sisters and yes, Vander took them in along with Claggor and Mylo. Also, the pollution is quite bad hence why the enforcers were wearing masks. You don't need to know anything about League of Legends game to watch Arcane - I didn't! Looking forward to your future videos on Arcane!
They did a wonderful job with this show of making sure that viewers didn't need to know anything about the game to understand the story and connect with the characters. If you happen to know the game, there are a few wink, wink, nudge, nudge moments when characters from the game show up, but it honestly hurts more than helps if you know the game because with knowledge of the game you know how things will turn out for certain characters. I personally think it would be even better to watch it blind. The writing, animation, acting and everything are all fantastic, and the show is a great one to watch. Plus they do a great job of writing female characters without turning them into cliches. No spoilers: But because you asked about the masks, I'll offer a tiny bit of lore from the game to answer the question. The undercity is where certain businesses and organizations dump all their chemical wastes and pollution (and there isn't much air flow to bring in fresh air), making the air hard to breathe and the water dangerous. The people who live in the undercity are more used to it, the topsiders often use masks to filter out the worst of it. Great reaction. Subbed. I hope you do the rest of the series, but I'll have to check out your other reactions regardless!
You know, I always find it kind of funny when people suggest retrieving the bag of loot from the bottom of the river, because when you think of it, it's unlikely they could even manage to dive to the bottom of the river, much less find the bag and somehow manage to make it back to the surface with a very heavy bag. I, personally, have a hard enough time keeping myself afloat, much less the added weight of a bag full of metal objects.
Your channel popped up in my algorithm thanks to this reaction. You're reaction is awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing your reactions to the rest of this series.
I am SO glad you've begun this journey! This truly is a special show, flawless on so many levels! I look forward to seeing your reactions as the sister's saga unfolds. Thanks for the awesome content!
I heard people talk about how great Arcane was and decided to just give it a shot some night. It definitely blew me away with how good it was, one of, if not the best show I've ever watched.
I find it interesting, and perhaps a little sad, that when Vi was standing up for Powder and putting Mylo in his place for ragging on her, Vi still said *"Powder's my problem"* . Meaning, even Powder's biggest defender still sees her as a "problem".
I don‘t understand how people think they could just go get the stuff back from the water. The shot of the bag drowning really shows that the bag is going to sink to the bottom of the waterbody which is looking polluted, dirty and probably to deep to find the bag with bare eyes.
So hyped to see you go through this. There’s a reason this is in IMDb’s top 50 tv shows of all time. It’s currently sitting at a 9.0 at #24. The music, the art style, the animation, the character depth, the voice acting, everything, puts this show at nothing short of a masterpiece. And the best part? The lore is so rich and beautiful that when you finish this show, you’ll want to know more, and I cannot emphasize enough how extensive the lore is. First I was an Arcane simp. Now I’m a Riot simp. You’ll enter a post-Arcane slump when you finish the show and you’ll want to soak up all of the Riot cinematics.
I didn't know anything about League of Legends or Arcane either, for the longest time I'd just dismissed it as a cheap attempt to cash in on a popular video game - Then one day I was looking at a review of another tv-show (a bad one - can't remember which), Arcane was mentioned as an example of how to do things right, so I decided to give it a shot. And I am so glad I did. I've been so obsessed, that I've been binging every RUclipsr reacting to it, that I could find since. And here I am.
For me, this was one of the strongest openings for any series (live action or animated) that I have seen. The characterization, storyline, cinematography, camera work, and music all draw you in almost against your will.
I'M SO EXCITED! YAY! I have almost zero background with League of Legends and from what I understand it's absolutely not necessary to for this show. And I think there's some argument that the show might actually be better without expectations/'spoilers.' (Like recognizing names of characters and so on)
I'm no expert or anything on the lore for League of Legends. But I do believe that the undercity is mainly the industrial sector for piltover. There is a lot of pollution both in the air and in the water where they live. Arcane is a tv show made by Fortiche (A french animation studio) doing work for Riot (The game company). For years now people have been clamoring for an animated show because RIot releases cinematic trailers of this caliber every year. (After arcane you may be interested in reacting to the cinematic trailers and music videos because they are along the same quality as this). It is even joked around that Riot is more a music label disguised as a video game company because of how well produced their music videos are. Anyways, glad to see your blind reaction to this. Because personally I think knowing nothing going into Arcane makes it more enjoyable for knowing some of these characters slightly spoil the events, though not entirely for the episodes. Hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
Good luck Im excited to see how a greeny likes the show. Hopefully no-one ruins anything in the comments. Buy yeah best animated show i've ever seen. However I'm a league of legends fan since 2009 so it exceeded my expectations. On a side note arcane is about visual story telling so they will rarely tell you exactly what's going on. Also its nothing like the game, it shares stories from it but the show is like your giving a backstory to a game of chess.
Yes the air is bad down there. the reason why is Undercity was never underground city in the past. It was a trade city that connects 2 continents. So city wanted to build Canal so traders from the world dont have to sail around the continent. and for Canal they have been using Chem to build Canal which caused big explosion sinked the whole city. and piltover was built on top of undercity. thats why the air is so toxic down there
I love that almost 6 months after the show released people are still discovering it and enjoying it. I'm trying to think of another show in recent memory that's stuck in the public consciousness like this and the only ones that come to mind are things like GoT and Breaking Bad. Pretty good company I'd say
I'm also surprised how much it gripped me... saw it first in December and I'm still rewatching in whole or in parts, and seeking out reactions. I don't remember being this obsessed with anything I watched. Potent stuff
I predict you will like this show. Not having played the game is definitely a benefit. I've seen a few reactions from people who have played the game, and I prefer the ones who haven't. Edit: Oh, also, one of the VAs you recognized was Shoreh Agdashloo, who is on The Expanse, my favorite sci-fi series!
Blade Runner is a hugely influential cult movie. It was a disastrous flop at launch, but became such a highly regarded film as time passed for good reasons. It is a movie like you mentioned, it can bore you to death, but the more you watch it, the more it blows you away. A very interesting product of its time.
Biggest thing to take away while watching this series. Watch each ACT through cause they tie into each other perfectly. If you need to record your reactions per episode do that. Watch and listen, there so much detail in every scene and with words in song choice sometime. Plus you dont need to know anything about love League of Legends. Cause some of somewhat haters were LOL fanatics. Some YT reactors ive watched. stop show in parts to talk about it and it ruins the flow of the moment.
You will appreciate episodes 1&2 more after you watch episode 3. Also, after episode 6, a lot of people recommend watching the Enemy music video before watching episode 7. Some people say it has some minor spoilers, others say it deepens the impact of the following episodes. Up to you.
The woman who does the voice of the female enforcer is called Shohreh Aghdashloo, I always remember her voice because she voiced a character in Mass Effect 2. And she stars in the series The Expanse. Regarding your thoughts about the breathing apparatus that the topsiders wear when they go to the undercity, it's implied that a lot of the waste that is expelled from Piltover mostly ends up in the undercity. The reason the inhabitants don't wear them is (I think) because they have grown up and adapted to it. Speaking as someone who knows of the game, but has never played, you don't really need to have played the game, because the show has it's own story.
So you like the Steampunk 👍. The underground city was named imself not accepted by Piltover like Zaun. Vi and Pouder are sister in blood. Good atention on the blue gems are not just for explosions. Vi is a fighter really tough not for be stronger is for his courage.
The show is based on the world of the game but you don't need to know anything about the game , it's like the game is one time line and the tv show is another , same world but different stories mostly and also Welcome to the playground :)
The actress with the awesome voice is Shohreh Aghdashloo. And since you say you are a big fan of SciFi, you must watch The Expanse. She's one of the main characters and she is just phenomenal in her role. Great reaction as always. Take care.
Kate taking shots at Imagine Dragons in Hawkeye is extra funny after seeing their involvement in this show. I have also often seen it recommended to watch the music video for the title song 'Enemy' between episodes 6 and 7.
I've also seen those recommendations and IMO there is no point. I would watch it afterwards - it is even better that way I think. The show itself doesn't need boosters or gap fillers.
I'm on board for this ride. Can't wait to see you get to certain episodes. League of legends as a game actually has no narrative, it's played as a competitive 5v5 multiplayer game but there's no story. There are characters who have background story but it's all almost irrelevant in the game except for how it relates to their abilities on the field.
@@thedeep6570 yes, but absolutely none of it relates to the actual game as it is played, because it's just a 5v5 competitive game, not a narratively driven game.
Hello. I am here first time for just to watch your reactions. And I liked your honest reaction when you feel stressed, frightened or happiness. Keep going
The "My Enemy" - from Imagine Dragons, lyrics was a little altered to fit the show, but the part we can hear in the intro is the same on both versions. And I need to say, I like the alternative version even more.
I love the main title version.. still getting goosebumps how it starts after an episode intro. The original version is kinda meh in comparison (for me anyway).
@@turquoise839 the "rap" part on the new version is specially amazing (and heartbreaking at same time). Fun fact, the altered version "they say pray it away..." isn't in the official video clip (probably because contain some spoiler).
Hi, animator here. Anime is just animation that originates from Japan. This is an American production animated by French studio Fortiche. So, not anime. Arcane is also the best animated show I've seen since Avatar the Last Airbender. It's incredible. It's the kind of animated show that animators dream to work on.
Animation style is hard to define. Arcane is pretty unique. Its not Anime though, this is definitely a western style animation. Id call it a 2D/3D hybrid in a painterly kind of style.
Ok, the intro was though to get through, but the artistry of this show is so darn beautiful. I’m interested in seeing what comes next. I must say, this world, so beautifully depicted in animation, would so suck to live in. Yuck! Oh, love the music too!
Well, I was looking for a new Series to start-in between Moon Knight Wednesdays-And I figured I'd check out Your Reaction to Arcane to see if that might be worth starting. It IS! So I'll be watching along with You once again! See You for Episode 2!
I loved this series. It DOES get better! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on future episodes. I play League and was very impressed with how they handled Arcane. It has something for everyone. Honestly, the only real difference between a League player and a normal viewer is that I know what keys they are pressing while they fight and the names of their abilities/powers. The blue stones are Hextech while the purple liquid is Chemtech. These are used to power weapons/characters in the game according to the lore. I'm hesitant to elaborate on anything else because I feel like most of your current questions will get answered in the next two episodes.
That's so interesting. You're the first reactor I've seen that thought they were brother and sister at the start Edit: haha glad you lock your balcony! 😄 Mylo is such a 🤡 Love your reactions of you rly feeling the scenes, esp the nerve wrecking ones Hehe also glad you like Vi. I do too :3 "So I can look forward to one of those things working for her one day. That's exciting :)" Well...that's one way to look at it xD
Will definitely be coming back for your reactions to the rest of the series. You're in for a real treat! This is one of the best shows I've watched in a long time, if not ever.

Arcane really is a rare and special series. Magnificent story telling. You are in for one heck of a ride. Hold on to your hat.
I’m going to give you the same warning I give most of the reactors…..please be aware of the comment section. It’s a bunch of idiots out here, who like to spoil upcoming episodes. Just be aware because it’s way more enjoyable going in not knowing what to expect.
It's not a true reaction video without people telling the reactors which episode they look forward to
@@MrWillsonx thats fine if its ambiguous.
Hope that you continue with your reactions, like the way you did it - thanks for the work and your thoughts.
credits to the french animation studio Fortiche for the AMAZING animation
27:30 about your question here; this is just based on the characters and relatively loosely on the lore around them from League of Legends. There are very few easter eggs you'll notice as a league fan, so it's very welcoming to outside people.
It's like an extension of league the same way bad batch is an extension of star wars we saw in the first 3 eps, but with a less established lore to ground itself in.
Mylo: “who locks there balcony”
Me: “Smart people”
Anyone who's got something worth protecting
My family summered in a place where people commonly didn’t lock their front doors (this was in the 1990’s). It wasn’t because it was an island full stupid people who didn’t have anything worth protecting, but people felt safe. I feel sorry for anyone who’s never known that profound sense of safety in a community.
I love this series so much.
Definitely doing the rest of the series! I have to be meticulous with the edit, Netflix gave me a little hassle.
Well now knowing what I know, no way would I dive into that water to retrieve it. It probably disintegrated before it even touch the bottom lol
I thought you said “flawed” and I was about to go tf off. Lol
@@benhs1898 Bwah-hahahahaha!! Never! I have re-watched it twice, I just love it.
I heard people talk about how great Arcane was and decided to just give it a shot some night. It definitely blew me away with how good it was, one of, if not the best show I've ever watched.
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
this series is a work of art of animation
I find it interesting, and perhaps a little sad, that when Vi was standing up for Powder and putting Mylo in his place for ragging on her, Vi still said *"Powder's my problem"* . Meaning, even Powder's biggest defender still sees her as a "problem".
its always nice to find someone new to Arcane, such innocence
The editing in your reaction is so good.
I have been watching you for months, and finding these older videos is amazing! I loved Arcane and I’m so glad your first episode was so enjoyable!
Telling people to be ready for specific episodes takes away from the impact and is a semi-spoiler I think.
@@turquoise839 fair point! I removed that part. Granted, I’m sure she’s already seen warnings about episode 3.
@@Spuriusrex Thanks! True though, it is pretty much unavoidable.
Arcane is literally the best thing I've ever watched. It's damn near perfect.
So many tubers live in Vegas. The Niche Lady, Thrifting Vegas, Vegaslowroller. Wow. 😲
The first two episodes are the slowest of the series but you come to appreciate them more after you finish the season. It gives you a chance to relax
I really love this series, and I cannot wait until we get a season 2. Both the characters and writing are great
You are in for quite a ride. And I’m here for it.
Up to you.
Yay .. always happy when a new reactor starts this series , specially since it seems u enjoy it :)
I'm very excited to follow you on this journey!
Take care.
The Expanse is the best SciFi tv series ever.
I'm excited to get to binge your reaction to this!
17:00 "So I get to look forward to one of those working one day?"
Kinda...?
I have regrets…😭😭😭
These were released is 3 acts...1-3, 4-6, 7-9. I would really recommend you watch them like that.
Really liked your reaction. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
I am so glad I did some searching before I suggested Arcane as a fan of your content:)
Your going love this show to heart! It's a masterpiece
Best day ever ❤️
I'm on board for this ride. Can't wait to see you get to certain episodes.
League of legends as a game actually has no narrative, it's played as a competitive 5v5 multiplayer game but there's no story. There are characters who have background story but it's all almost irrelevant in the game except for how it relates to their abilities on the field.
Well theres alot of background lore for League of Legends out there. Its a pretty in depth universe as far as i know.
Oh my god. I watched your Peacemaker vids, lots of fun. I was hoping you were getting to this.
You are about to be blessed and I'm here for it.
Animation style is hard to define. Arcane is pretty unique. Its not Anime though, this is definitely a western style animation. Id call it a 2D/3D hybrid in a painterly kind of style.
Nice reaction. Believe me, this show is x10 times more enjoyable if you haven't played the game. Strap in for an epic ride.
Like, seriously cannot wait for your reactions to the rest!
17:06 The power of apollo does not always work for good.
Purple liquid is called Shimmer.
This is a drama with an artistic level of care, strong creativity and fantastic writing underpinning it.
Looking forward to the next episodes.
You're gonna enjoy this series very much!
Welcome to the most amazing journey, unparalled by anything done before! And great reaction^^
It’ll be tomorrow ❤️
I see Arcane reaction, I click.
"Is this anime?"
Is a huge debate apparently. I say, "Yes! This is anime. Not Anime, but anime."
Best animation series 🙌
this just was suggested to me, I read funny illegal rects lol
2:40 The foreshadowing.
24:06 Poor rats though...
This'll be a good one.
Nem vi, já curti! Adoro o canal, adoro Arcane! (Portuguese comment for you!) ❤️
Yeah, they all beat up their opponents, but Powder went for kill
I loved this series. It DOES get better! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on future episodes. I play League and was very impressed with how they handled Arcane. It has something for everyone. Honestly, the only real difference between a League player and a normal viewer is that I know what keys they are pressing while they fight and the names of their abilities/powers.
The blue stones are Hextech while the purple liquid is Chemtech. These are used to power weapons/characters in the game according to the lore. I'm hesitant to elaborate on anything else because I feel like most of your current questions will get answered in the next two episodes.
Glad that you are finally getting around to this one. I know you are going to love it.
That's so interesting. You're the first reactor I've seen that thought they were brother and sister at the start
Edit: haha glad you lock your balcony! 😄 Mylo is such a 🤡
Love your reactions of you rly feeling the scenes, esp the nerve wrecking ones
Hehe also glad you like Vi. I do too :3
"So I can look forward to one of those things working for her one day. That's exciting :)"
Well...that's one way to look at it xD
Oh, oh, the misery. Evrybody wants to lock their balconyyyy!
"Everybody neeeds some therapyyyyy"
Will definitely be coming back for your reactions to the rest of the series. You're in for a real treat! This is one of the best shows I've watched in a long time, if not ever.
