    On my lips I use the Eucerin spf 15 chapstick. I realize 15 is hardly anything but it's really comfortable and I find myself reapplying frequently which would likely not happen if I didn't like it 😅

    I hiiiiighly recommend the sun bum lip spf 30! The one in the black tube. It’s called the signature spf 30 lip balm. It’s great it’s flavorant and fragrance free it’s water resistant, and it leaves like 1/10 of the white cast of the vanicream. And it’s a stick so it’s just easier to apply like you don’t feel like you have to rub it in at all

    I love watching your videos! And you look fantastic dear, keep doing what your doing because it's working. Me personally, I have to use tinted because of freckles and a couple malasma issues so I really cake it on my face every two hours. I heard that you should do this and wear new fabric ( if wearing a mask over it) according to Dr dray that can help protect you further but even though I use waterproof it still kind of rubs off even after fully dry. What would be your intake on this? I would like to know and have this discussion with you. Thanks!

    Interesting routine. I like the sound of the ginseng essence. Have you tried the Altruist sunscreens? It’s chemical and I’m currently finishing off the face fluid. Also according to Niod, they use fractionated melanin in their survival serum which blocks out blue light. Going to give that a go. 🙏🏾

    Hello, I am new to your channel and I have been really enjoying your videos! I currently use the Elta MD UV elements. How does it compare to the Cotz flawless complexion and the Drmtlgy Sunscreen in terms of tint? I am darker than you (med-deep) and need something that doesn’t leave a cast and works for darker skin. Also, which green tea do you like best? I always want to make a cup when I see you drink. Lol!

      I've never tried that one from elta md but I'm thinking of trying their newest tinted formula so hopefully that will give you a better idea. Id say it's worth a try to give drmtlgy a go. I've seen people with darker skin tones use it and it looks good. It's much more affordable than elta too :)

    I love the texture and tint of Drmtlgy sunscreen but unfortunately it dries my skin out and causes mild irritation. I got the pipette sunscreen after watching and love how it feels on my skin. Very moisturising. It does leave very white cast but I don't really mind it because it feels really good on my skin. Thanks a lot for the video.

    Yay! I layer sunscreens too, just to make sure I get adequate UVA protection. 1st a high UVA protection rated european sunscreen (Tinosorb M, S, etc) and then a tinted all-mineral sunscreen on top. Happy to hear I’m not the only one that does this :) Preventative measures might cost more up front, but will save way more $ (and frustration) later in trying to fix the problems - applies to health/nutrition as well. Happy New Year, and thanks for your videos!

    Could you please explain why layering sunscreen doesn't increase SPF? It doesn't make any sense to me, in real life two blankets block more visible light than one blanket. But all dermatologists say it's otherwise. Are there any studies to support that?

    Sorry to spoil this, but sunscreen is too important to get it wrong: 👉 If two products you want to mix both contain only physical ingredients, you'll probably be just fine using two sunscreens. But, if they each contain even a small amount of a chemical ingredient-as many sunscreens do-it's not advisable to combine the two.

    I gotchu with some lip balm recs. I am mineral-only lip person, just bc I have reactions to any chemical filters. (They are all also fragrance-free for the same reason.) I’ve got 2, one cheap, one more $. First is the Sun Bum Signature Lip Balm (matte black packaging). Spf 30 & water resistant 80 min. It’s like $4-5 on Amazon. I keep them stashed everywhere. Not really a cast at all that I can see. The second is the Colorscience Total Protection Sport Stick 50. A pricey rec, but I’m gonna include it here bc it’s just such high quality. It’s $29 (I know, I know! Stay w me) but it’s spf 50, non nano zinc & has iron oxides in it, but it’s doesn’t have a color to it. You also get 4x the product of the sunbum one, so although the initial price is high, it almost evens out cost-wise.

    • @frugalskin
      @frugalskin  3 года назад

      Wow thanks for the breakdown. Very interested in the color science especially since it sounds like you get a lot more product. I feel like I've looked into the sun bum but never bought it I can't remember why.

    Can you make a video going over common active ingredients in sunscreen and what UV ray it covers? I always thought UVA and UVB rays were just one kind of thing, but recently learned there are like UVA 1 and UVA 2 type of rays? I'm probably getting that wrong but I also learned that not all filters specifically for UVA or UVB get all these levels of wavelengths and it's just a lot of information that gets overwhelming and confusing :P

    Hi..I also like layering sunscreens...I don't really care if they are chemical or not..currently I am finishing the PURITO ( yes, even with the controversy) as a moisturizer and the layering with the Hada Labo gel SPF 50+ PA ++++... I do wait at least 25 minutes before reapplying....It's now dark and cold in Northern Europe so we are mostly indoors!!! Strangely, I don't mind wearing sunscreen..it's just a part of my routine...wish I started earlier.... Your skin doesn’t feel dehydrated if you don’t seal in your toners and serums with a moisturizer? If I wait for my skin to dry before applying sunscreen, my skin feels terrible.

    Love layering sunscreen! I basically do the same thing every day (esp aft you mentioned nano sizes and diversity of particle size in your cotz vid), I find having an organic SPF that acts as a moisturiser makes it easier to layer sunscreens daily
    Haven't found anything that beats vanicream, I actually use it around my eyes for a few layers before i get the first physical SPF on my face (Which i still apply around my eyes), just since it's so moisturising and doesn't migrate into my eyes like most physical spfs, and I don't trust how stick sunscreens apply so.. lol.
