This is probably one of the worst bits of journalism Ive seen in recent years. "Sid Vicious had a bright future ahead of him....". What? He was a junkie, with a junkie mom, who grew up in poverty amongst rampant unemployment, and could barely play his instrument. Yes, he's a visual icon. But talented? Bright future? C'mon.
He would of done bloody well if he got cleaned up....as a singer in the 80's When asked who he would of loved to have worked with and wrote songs for was-Sid Vicious and that was Ray Davies of the Kinks........he would of been huge in the 80's
Rotten can be extremely insightful/intelligent, but his belated 'humanitarianism' toward his 'mate' just doesn't ring true for me. I've got quotes from Rotten post-Pistols/pre-death of Vicious which counter most everything he claims now
