If i was Jimmy, i would have responded with something like: Ever heard of hair color?

I went to see him a few years ago he made the effort to stay after the show for a brief meet and greet and autograph and didnt charge extra not alot of people do that. What a legend

Got to respect him for allowing the audience to engage with him. Not many comedians would allow that but, if anything, it demonstrates how intelligent and fast witted he is.
When I saw him in Canada, he even had a phone number set up to text heckles throughout the show for him to collect and go through at the end.
And how he's not afraid to reuse retorts.😁😁😁

@@FistandFootMartialArts yeah hes an entertainer if he can't think a new comeback you want him to just sit there? he does standup not improv its still pretty impressive I have basically no respect for him as a person he seems like a bit of a tit in podcasts and interviews but hes without a doubt a talented and quick wittted comedian idk what you're expecting

His genius is, and you’re spot on, that he’s really quick witted.
You can tell that his crowd work skill is hard-earned. That he had the guts to take it on the chin to develop it.

I've heard he never takes it on the chin - he always swallows the lot.
You can't offend him when he's on stage. Some comics get a heckle and it's like they want to "win," like it's an internet argument or something-they even post it online to their RUclips with some caption like "Savage Comedian Owns a Heckler!!"
Jimmy's finding the joke. He just wants to make people laugh even if that means he looks like a twat. There's no malice in his words or his act. And with that wit of his, I love his crowdwork.
I liked this, too, because a lot of what he said did genuinely feel like it was from the heart and it was Jimmy talking to the audience for parts of it rather than his stage persona.
His teacher at school: Jimmy, you won't get anywhere acting the fool and being sarcastic all your life!
they said that to me too... haven't gotten any of those sold-out stadium crowds just yet...

I admire the bravery Jimmy takes to include the audience like this. It is inviting chaos to your set and thinking you can navigate out of it with improv

I saw Mark Lamaar at the Comedy Store many years ago, and to this day, I've never seen a comic handle hecklers better. He was a total pro and it felt like he was swatting flies away.
I'd guess most comedians secretly hope they don't get heckled ...this guy openly welcomes it 🙌

I do open mic standup and I live for hecklers. I go somewhere in my head. It hits a chord in me. I eat em alive. Usually I get a laugh. Crowdwork is my jam.

I've done standup quite a few times now but I'd love to have a go at this kind of comedy like Jimmy Carr & Al Murray do where they bring in that audience interaction, even if it goes horribly wrong I think it'd be an interesting experience

He seemlessly integrates comedy in to a conversation with an entire audience. Everyone loves what he says so much that they actually quiet down for his response instead of continuously going off.

@jayhop probably advice that edgy jokes are great but punching up is funnier than punching down and laughing with is funnier than laughing at. He got it wrong more often a decade ago than he does now. Ditto with Frankie Boyle, though he holds himself back a bit too much these days aka "didn't get the right amount of feedback" lol

The best thing about going to see Jimmy live is that his extensive audience involvement is not rehearsed and if you want to you might be able to participate. That makes him unique among comedians
I don't find a lot of comedians to be funny, but Jimmy is brilliant. This crowd engagement is gold.

The interview with Jimmy on Diary of a CEO was very interesting. He was surprisingly likeable and very intelligent with very broad knowledge of many topics and great insight. His humour is right on the edge though.

God, this man is a genius on stage. I love how quickly he can deliver perfect responses.
I respect this guy for not picking on his audience and makes bad fun of them in a humiliating but gives them the opportunity to get them involved. It's impressive when an audience wins an exchange and the comedian doesn't get embarrassed but rewards it! This was a fun watch.

Saw him in st louis. His off the rail interactions with the crowd are fried gold. He's so quick and witty.

Growing up in england i have watched this guy blossom into a great comedian. Cant say that i never had my doubts about him back in the day, especially with shows like "your face or mine" (think that was what it was called)

Jimmy Carr i think is the most offensive, edgy and shocking comedian i have ever seen, i love the jokes and can't wait for the next video! the way hecklers are delt with is also great and i wish more comedians would follow this example

Big fan of Jimmy, but……. Having seen him live a number of times, i’d choose (if i had the choice) to go for a show he’s recording. The ones I’ve been to where he’s not, he’s “phoned it in”…
