      Really ? I don't think there is anything more tedious than people who spend their lives trying to outrage others. Johnny Rotten for instance is a very dull man in my opinion. Him and his butter adverts. Yet he thinks he can call others boring. I'd rather have a pint with Derek Nimmo anyday.

    Despite the attempts of the media to outrage us, most people in Britain were remarkably accepting in those days. I remember the "Peacock" punks of Chelsea in the early '80s, hanging out in polite and friendly conversation with the Chelsea Pensioners. Happy days, before all the media-manufactured strife and panic.

    Funny thing is Derek Nimmo was 46-47yrs old in this segment, and now in 2022 there are people his age or older (young people of the 70s and 80s) than he was then, that dress (or close too) in the Punk style he dressed as for a joke, but now is not outlandish to see (unless done very badly).

    I was expecting car crash tv ... but this was rather quaint. Helped that Nimmo sounded genuinely interested. And the last shot of him looking rather pleased with himself is great.

    Oh my god that was the best time in the world I was punk in the early 80s in LA. It went with my mother to London in 1978 all I could think about is running into the sex pistols.

    I've seen this before, it's hilarious. God knows what the Pistols camp made of it all. Took it with good humour though. Great bit of vintage TV. Oh and Vivienne is gorgeous.

    Shocking how young Westwood looks here - it's like yesterday for me 1977; Westwood is a rather sweet and kindly girl. Even Nimmo looks young. They were better days - happier, and more stable in many ways - for all the superficial lunacy of the era.

      I suppose with things like this I guess especially when we're young we're immediately surrounded and engulfed in often the most positive of ways by things in the past and for a lot of people that nostalgia becomes rather innate and I suppose we can reach out further than what we've experienced on occasions

      My dad was (still is) a punk and Johnny Rotten really reminds me of my dad with the things he says and the faces he pulls. He used to sing some Sex Pistols songs to us as little kids (and the Stranglers and the Clash). Wish I could go back in time and spend a day in this era.

    In 1977 I was running the Go Karts in Penzance when the Sex Pistols came for a ride, well one of them, when called to come in crashed flat out into a solid barrier, he stood up and walked off, anyone else would have needed hospital treatment.
