    I agree with a lot of what John Lydon says - you get into Class A drugs, you get addicted, and it won't end well. Even if you do manage to get off them, you've damaged your body and your life, and you'll never be able to get it all back no matter how long you live. I always felt for Sid, because with a mother like that he never stood a chance.

    John is very good at humanizing his old friend John aka Sid. Sid was a human being not a cartoon character. His short life was tragic.

    I man I knew called Peter, who was at Westminster Kingsway College - as it was then - and knew John Beverly, long before he was Sid. For some reason Peter never discovered, John confided in Peter that he was gay. It seems that quite a few people in the area where John lived knew about his inclination but didn't broadcast it (no proof is my guess). Despite telling Peter, and probably others too for all I know, John was terrified of people knowing about his liking for other lads. I can only assume it was because being gay was illegal at the time. Peter also said John was a tall boy for his age, about 6', skinny and malnourished.

      He wasn't gay, he shagged half the sluts in his home town. Long live the king, long live Sid.

    John Lydon never says anything good about his so called friend. He's too jealous that punk took on Sid's leather and stud fashion rather than his baggy suited clown look

  • @josefserf1926

    Lydon's insecurity destroyed the best band of the 1970s. He can blame the heroin but he knows it was his fault. He did nothing. Absolutely nothing. Spiteful man.

      Even if he did try to do anything I very much think sid would have been too far gone to even sadly accept any help. You can't force someone that doesn't want any help to get any help at all. It's sad but with the stuff I've seen over the years I can say one thing. They definitely won't get help if they don't want to. It often really takes the last straw for someone to see that they need help. So really I don't blame anyone but his mother here who enabled him with his addictions. I blame his mother and partially sid is to blame.

    • @01aleph
      @01aleph 5 месяцев назад +8

      When it comes to heroin, if you don't want to get out of that hell on your own, nobody can help you, nobody can blame Johnny Lydon or anyone else for not helping Sid, because Sid didn't even want any help. They were friends, but heroin became a better "friend" than Johnny, if anyone should be blamed it is definitely Sid's deranged mother.

      @@01alephа чем бы мог помочь Джон Лайдон? Принудительно положить Сида в рехаб? Не думаю, что в то время такое было возможно. Тем более Сид, выйдя из тюрьмы абсолютно чистым , первым делом начал искать героин.
