Hey mate just discovered your videos and so good!! do the same job on the Gold Coast.
I have definitely picked up a few tips on the Temperzone stuff. Thanks mate.

I replaced a fan motor for an E7 code and also found the wiring melted where it entered the fan motor. I replaced the fan motor alone which did not fix it. If I now replace the PCB do I need to replace the motor a second time with it or am I safe to just do the PCB?

    Good stuff mate.
I worked on a similar unit.
It had a cracked capillary on the reversing valve. Killed the compressor, pcb and condenser fan.
    We replaced it under warranty.
I have an issue where it only runs on heating and not cooling. No back pressure at all when compressor operational on cooling suction line not cold.
Pressure changes only when on heating.
Any ideas what could cause this ?

Nice job Mitch , you are in the winter season now correct? I’m in north east US it’s hot here in New England. Thanks for the share.

Yeah mate, it’s Winter down here. The coldest it will get in Sydney on the coldest winter morning would be around 6°c. I’m not sure if you’d consider that cold from where you are but it’s cold enough to keep me in business haha.

@@maracservices yea that’s a fall day here lol. Winter cold not uncommon to have -10f in the morning and a high of +10f during the day. Usually plenty of snow too. Stay well

    Hello Mitch
Do outdoor unit PCB’s generally take out the outdoor fan motors aa well? I’m facing a situation with a ducted split (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) it was tripping the circuit breaker for a year. I went there and found the inverter board with burn marks. So I replaced it. The system worked for about 20min, before the circuit breaker tripped again. Now I’m hoping that the new inverter board hasn’t been damaged as well, along with two outdoor fan motors. Can a board be toast in 20mins?

      Hey mate,
Unfortunately a PCB can be toast in 20 seconds. I generally replace the fan motors with the outdoor PCB (only if it plugs into the inverter board) because that’s what all the different brands recommend. Don’t get me started on how temperamental DC fan motors are. In your case, I would definitely be checking the Compressor and EEV Coil as well. All of these things could be the culprit. There’s a video of mine titled, “Diagnosing Daikin E7 Error (Ep1)” which shows you a board that was most likely taken out by a fan motor. What you’re experiencing has happened to the best of us. Keep on truckin!

How is r32 working? Still using 410a in US.

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  2 года назад

In my opinion it hasn’t changed my life in the slightest. All the fittings are the same as 410a. Basically feels like nothing has changed to be honest. Pressures are very similar. However, apparently it’s more flammable so you aren’t supposed to have flare nuts inside houses. We still have some units that are 410a here too.
