    There shit is crazy, I went through the same shit at General Motors, they where like hit this button 14 times, wait for this, now hit it 20 times. I was like how about keeping it fking simple and just showing what's wrong period. Fking engineers.

    Great vids man. Thanks for sharing and explaining SO much. These new, more efficient systems are quite advanced. Worked in IT for 30+ years and tech support was a very common call. Good to know the same is available for you guys. Stay safe out there!

    It's a wonder tech support even talked to you. Usually you have to be a distributor and be certified to work on daikin vrvs.

    Diakins tech support are great if you get the right people. I had called one time and a
    Asshole . Who made fun of the way I a pronounce a word . I’m a big fan of Daikin
    But some people should not do tech support. Great video . Thank you

    Its great that you said call technical support. If its not a refrigeration issue i get stumped. Everyone want to act like they are pros with these inverter units and there is no possible way. Everyone tech support is reading a flow chart. Totally different on a split or package unit. I am no longer gonna be ashamed to call tech support. I know you know your shit and called them. So now i know that's the right thing to do. Thanx. As always great video.

      Yeah these units are proprietary and very complex. You need to have a list of all the common checks for Daikin if you work on them. We managed to get it from Daikin themselves.

    If the compressor runs but stops, its usually the Inverter Board. If the compressor was silent, the compressor is bad (sometimes it kills the inverter board too).

    It will always baffle me why techs still use analog manifolds in 2022. But that should be obvious. You really should be using a D-checker for Daikin equipment, you would’ve had your answer a long time ago and avoided cross contamination with the all the oils and acid that’s collected in those hoses. Old habits die hard

    Try not to keep the slave coded out for more than 24 hours. The master and slave units on the vrv4 share a common oil line. When it goes through its oil return sequence, it effectively starves the master. Had this a few times where someone has coded it, and left it running for the customer and basically cooked the comp. Do you have an inverter checker to test your board to comp wires? Great vids btw, really enjoy watching them

    You can also use the Daikin app. It will point by point run you through. If tech support takes to long to answer.

      In Sydney, Australia, Daikin are a 3-4hr call back service for tech support..

      @@rdenir honestly I don't know how he talked with tech support. NY area is same thing. tech support sometimes calls you next day. it is better having service tool.

      If I call Fujitsu tech support,
      Usually within 15 minutes I will have a tech on the phone

      @@rdenir you are right. But When people calls you for service call. Unfortunately it is mostly daikin units were installed in Ny area. you have to point out exact problem. Sometimes one fan motor is bad but you gotta change both condenser fan motor with the inverter. There is no point installing units if you aren’t going to get customer support when you need it.

      @@ibrahimamac yes unfortunately when you get to a job and see the Daikin unit it’s too late for that,, Admittedly Daikin are good units, it’s just the after sales service that is poor in my opinion,,
      Last December I had a client call me about her Daikin VRV A/C unit not working,, I diagnosed a faulty Inverter board and she told me the unit was only 18 months old,, I told her to get onto Daikin and get them to repair under warranty,, a few days later she called me again and asked if I could just repair it and she would pay me direct,, Daikin had told her that they couldn’t get a warranty tech out there before February,, Here in Australia, Dec, Jan, Feb is out summer

    Currently doing my apprenticeship for refrigeration. Professor said to properly use an amp meter clamp, make sure the wire being tested should be in the middle, of the clamp, not touching any part of the meter, for the most accuracy. If you have it on the edge, like in the video, the reading can be off a significant amount of amps. Haven't tried myself yet.

    Daikin new sales technique but they offer 100% efficiency when the unit is not operating round the clock technical support which will cost you hours in callbacks part replacement as long as the unit is not five years old in domestic application just get a new one 410a is a mixture of drynitro and R22 it's cheap as chips but you need to reclaim the entire amount throw it away and charge with new gas

    You're basically coding out 1x compressor on slave 1. 38 is master, 39 slave 1, 40 slave 2. Then select one compressor/pcb to code out . There's a faster way to check . Also it's weird that they use the smaller unit to be master or so it seems. Not sure from the vid

    hello good morning, greetings from Argentina. I have the same error, I checked the compressors the same way you did. What if I have a machine with a single condenser and 2 compressors instead of 2 condensers (master and slave) with two compressors.
    I would appreciate your reply.

    Daikin have way too many issues in my opinion with this VRV , I seen way too many shot compressors and relatively new units . Not a big fan of them , I rather a Mitsubishi city multi any day

      Very good point. Here in the UK, we design, install, commission and service the Daikin VRV for many years. Replaced many parts for the Daikin over my time. However, the Mitsubishi City Multi Systems are brilliant. Never had any issues with them. Some systems we have installed over 15 years ago are still going strong with no new parts fitted. Don't get me wrong, Daikin are very good, it's just that you are forever changing parts and it can become very expensive. Luckily on one site where Daikin is fitted since 2014, we have about 67No. VRV Condensers fitted. We have rarely changed any parts. This is due to having it installed and maintained at a high level.

    Great video man. General question here, is it an issue running the unit with that side panel off for too long? Would mean most air is being sucked through the opening instead of the condenser coil right? And do you think it would have been a good idea to cover the other condenser fan motor on the other side that’s not working? Or was that condenser fan motor spinning anyway? Thx

    Have you been working on their newer R32 systems? They’re awful. So many issues with boards and comps going. Some less than 6 weeks old.

      In Vietnam a lot of HVAC technician said the R32 refrigerant performance not as good as the R410A.

    You do all that work and then you find out the thing has an supply air sensor which is making it operate at only 30% guess what no air con is a five star energy rating . How do you convince your client to pay for the video clip too
