  • Replacing an inverter compressor and PCB on this heat recovery system. I didn’t diagnose this system as it’s not a regular site of mine.

Excellent stuff. I had a chance to replace a toshiba vrf compressor this week but passed it off to a subbie. Kinda wish i’d done it myself now! Need some of those hoses too

I’m yet to see a Toshiba VRF. How are they to work on? The company has a set. They’re great for jobs like this. I’ll have to get a set of my own one day 😂

@@hvacraustralia similar to vrv 3 pipe and then theres a balancing pipe between outdoor units if you have more than one. The outdoor main pcb has rotary switches and a display to show you data across the system and the indoor controllers show it also. Fault finding wise theyre pretty good.

Sounds good. Hopefully I come across them, I’d be keen to work on one.

Good video mate, just wondering do you not replace oil capillaries/filters when fitting new comp? I do this as a standard now as had issue in the past with burnout contamination.

Thanks mate. I didn’t have anything to do with the original fault finding or quoting this job. I definitely would replace the oil return lines if I was raising it originally given how easily they block. I’ve heard some fun stories of that happening to guys. Nightmare 😂

Hi, great content, man! New tech here, aam! The setting you did before you put the unit into recovery mode. What setting was that for? And after you have finished recovering the gas, do you isolate power immediately? Kindly advise. Thanks

Hey mate. Thanks, glad you like the videos. I was actually taking it out of emergency mode. With Daikin VRV if you have an issue with a compressor/unit you can place the system into emergency operation to bypass the fault comp/unit. You don’t need to isolate power immediately, but I would have done it soon after as I didn’t need power anymore to carry out the works.
