    Another great video Mitch. I'm off out on call shortly this afternoon, got 2 Daikin's to service, the heat in the UK is insane at present..both unit's that haven't been serviced & remained dormant for quite some time no doubt, then all of a sudden they want them performing immediately.

      @@maracservices yeah In the first service menu you’ll see “demand” under field settings I think, you can set a schedule. It’s really useful. You can use it on any inverter one 2 one system from K series on with the new BRC controller. Can be done on a VRV condenser you have to get a low noise operation card from Daikin for that

    Great job Mitch, how long in real-time did it take? I have replaced compressors on Mitsubishi’s not fun. In the States we are required to warranty an installation for parts & LABOR for 1 year. We’re you able to recoup any labor money? I never have any luck with labor charges from manufactures. Thanks for sharing.

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  2 года назад +2

      In real time it took me 4 hours. Basically I bought a new compressor off Daikin and then replaced it for the customer. Now I send back some paperwork to Daikin and they refund me the amount for the compressor and also pay me 4 hours labour to fix it and the amount for refrigerant etc. So it’s not that bad but the labour rate isn’t what I normally charge out plus it takes ages for them to process the payment.
      Im not interested in working on Daikin warranty jobs because the pay is rubbish but if it’s my own customer I’ll certainly do it because I don’t want some other hack coming in and making a mess of it. Daikin warrant the parts for 5 years. 👍🏻

    Are Daikin still the goto brand? I want to have a multi split installed but the outdoor unit will be at the side of the house so needs to be fairly quiet with minimal compressor noise? cheers!

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  2 года назад +1

      Everyone has got their own opinion on what brand is the best. I think all the better brands are similar so it doesn’t really matter. I’m familiar with Daikin so that’s what I install. In regards to putting the unit at the side of the house. Try and put it outside a bathroom. Definitely don’t put it outside your bedroom. The unit up on brackets is nice and neat and off the ground but can vibrate the wall depending on how your house is Built. So if you have exterior cladding or blueboard or something other then brick, just put the unit on pavers instead to avoid vibration being an issue.
      I don’t know about other brands, but Daikin have a night time mode which keeps the outdoor unit quiet.

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  2 года назад +1

      I keep an installation manual for r32 units in my van so I know what field code settings do what when ever I need to know. When I read it, I noticed it said to recover the refrigerant from the “refrigerant recovery port” and the liquid service valve. It had a diagram of where the refrigerant recovery port was. So to answer your question, I don’t think it really matters but that’s where Daikin tell you to recover from. I think it makes recovering the refrigerant a bit quicker. 👍🏻

      For small residential units for personal homes FUJITSU, Panasonic in the last eight years I sold LG .
      FUJITSU, I had a hard time getting parts sometimes and was told had to wait many weeks. This doesn’t go over very well with customers. It makes you look bad so I stopped selling their product.
      With Panasonic had the same problem plus many damaged goods delivered directly from their warehouse continuously, showing up damaged and then having to wait 6 to 10 weeks for replacements and half of those would show up damaged again so I stopped selling that company’s product

      But using a company’s product in a industrial manufacturing plant were heavy heat loads from equipment is put on the units three shifts in 24 hours nonstop for years at a Time is a true test to a companies quality and reliability .
      Only since Covid in the world shut down and shipping and raw material supplies product problems around the world is the first time I have ever experienced a problem with getting unit products delivered to me THAT WOULD TAKE A FEW EXTRA WEEKS. . @@coldfinger459sub0 very interesting! I worked on a lot of carrier R22 units when I did my apprenticeship. They were quality units that lasted decades. For the last 15 years, I just worked on inverters mostly and my go to is Daikin and second to that is Panasonic. However I’m not saying Daikin is perfect, far from it. However it’s what I use most of at this stage. That might change as I’m thinking about giving some other brands a try to see what’s out there. mate i don’t know if you’ve ever seen one but you might know what brand i’ve got.
    i’ve got a reverse cycle unit that was purchased when we built our house in 2018. the unit has no labels what so ever that mention size, brand etc, indoor or out. our thermostat is izone by the installer and that doesn’t mention brands or anything either. (it’s the only manual we have) the outdoor unit is different and i’ve never seen it before. it is quite large on our roof with two fans but at the top of the unit (not action air as these have top discharge) mine has the two fans at the top of the unit but it’s a side discharge (flip a daikin on it’s side)
