I've been using the Daikin inverter board checker tool recently and have had good experiences with it. Sometimes it's across a roof and down a ladder, so it's good to know how to quickly manually check these boards. I would love to see a video on your procedures when you change a compressor. So much of the way I work on these machines has been through self-taught pain and suffering; I appreciate you all taking the time to create this content.
I service mitsubishi and have changed inverter boards it seems there are some small differences between diakin and mitsubishi but I found this video very helpful thanks
Ok my question on this topic, i know you can turn off and inverter board via the mode settings ; and i did that and the unit ran without problem however after i took the bad board out to to take to the supply house the unit has an error as it says it cannot communicate with the said board. So i guess the setting isnt a full deactivation and is more a prevent it from running?
@13:42. With all the wires disconnected from the compressor, not touching anything and then run the Power Transistor Check mode 28, one lead to the disconnected wires either U, V or W and the other lead to the Ground check? Multimeter in DC voltage check mode? Thank you
I do not understand here...isn't an inverter circuit ment to convert DC to AC...!!!! The scroll compressors I've seen on Heat pumps eg..Toshiba SMMS-i versions are rated with DC Voltage ...Please if coild clarify for me as I am still a rookie ..Thank you
AC input voltage is indeed rectified to DC. While one could say that it is then converted to AC, that is misleading. The compressors are indeed DC. The goal of the controller board is to monitor conditions and dynamically and optimally adjust the motor speed. It does this by chopping up the motor current using a process called pulse width modulation which pulses the DC current at varying rates to achieve the varying motor speed. The output current is only ever at 0 volts OR the rated voltage of the motor. Hence, not AC strictly, but pulsed DC. Look up "square wave" in your search engine and you will slap your forehead with understanding!

Got a part number for that tool?
Great video. Really like your VRV content 🇬🇧
Great video. Thanks mechanical pros
Thank you for sharing this instructive video
Glad it was helpful!
Great information and thanks for sharing.
Great content!! Please keep the videos coming!

What sort of differences?
Dykin tech support is trash compared to Mitsu.
Very informative! Anything on LG?
Nice video but next time please focus the camera to where you guys put the prods of tester .
Very informative
Thanks for the heads up! We'll definitely keep an eye on the camera focus next time so you can see exactly where we put those prods.
If you’re looking at the board it will make sense
good video, thanks for the knowledge
Any time!

Did the unit run or shut down due to the error code?
@@qomco it shutdown
Thank you so much
Very good

Between any 2 of u, v, w
🎉
😊
That inverter board looks the same as the LG multi v board

The board converts ac to dc then dc to ac it’s to filter the electricity.
Much how speed drives work.

hi
Excellent explanations. Thanks!
