  • It is an animation that explains how the air conditioner works in an easy to understand.
I hope this video will help you understand how the air conditioner works.
    - The basic principle of air conditioning
    - Principle of compressor
    - Principle of scroll compressor
    - Principle of condenser
    - Principle of expansion valve
    - Principle of evaporator

Don't worry guys I know an engineer friend who was unable to explain me this. As I was very intrigued with the working of ACs I started the journey to find the principle behind this. At first I couldn't understand this video 2 years ago but now after a lot pf reading and doubt clearing I come back to this video. Now this feels like such a simple process.
Thanks to all the great scientists who worked on the principles of thermodynamics, pressure, temperature, and vapour relationship.
Grateful to Charles, Boyles, Pascals, Joules, Thomson and many more great scientists who worked hard so we can live a great life

An air conditioner works based on four main processes: compression, condensation, expansion, and evaporation.
At first, the refrigerant is compressed in the compressor, increasing its pressure and temperature.
It then flows through the condenser, where it releases its heat to the outside air and transforms from a high-P, high-T gas into a high-P, low-T liquid.
Following this, the liquid refrigerant passes through an expansion valve, where it expands and cools RAPIDLY due to the pressure drop, turning into a cold mixture of liquid and gas at a much lower temperature. (expansion is fun, as here the liquid turns partially into gas without raising temp)
This cold mixture then moves to the evaporator coils, where it absorbs heat from the indoor air. As the refrigerant absorbs heat, it evaporates into a low-pressure gas, which is then cycled back to the compressor to repeat the process.
Hope I could simplify the explanation

    • @GauravSingh-qf8lh

@@sjinfinity so the compressor only work to build up pressure so it can go through valve for instant cooling. but due to high pressure from compressor it also heat up too much and we dont want that so it go through condenser to loose some heat and now this can ready to go through valve

    • @sjinfinity
      @sjinfinity 13 дней назад

@@GauravSingh-qf8lh right about the losing heat part, but condenser plays an important role also in converting the refrigerant from gas to liquid form which is necessary for the the next expansion process

As a Mechanical Engineering student with interest to specialize in HVAC system, i have watched numerous videos on the basic principle and function of the refrigeration components and not much was clear to me until i came across this enlightening video. It open up my mind and gave me a very good view and understanding on how HVAC components work and I can now confidently say know what it is all about. Thank you to everyone that made it possible for this video to be made and also keep up the great job!!

I wanna thank you for this spotless explanation. I'm a teacher and what SO MANY OTHER VIDEOS DO that gets me extremely frustrated is they don't go into ENOUGH detail - but this video, however, provides ADEQUATE detail. Imagine asking someone 'why?', or, 'how?', and then having them just stay silent. That's what the other videos do. Not this one. This video FINALLY helped me actually GRASP the concept instead of leaving depth to be desired. 10/10 explanation, and you've earned a loyal subscriber! Cheers! 🎉

I've read a science article where they explained how they found a new "loophole" in quantum mechanics which could potentially change the air conditioners dramatically, where you could lower the temperature the similar way as you can rise it. You know, like in the hair dryer, it is super easy to make it hot but you cannot create similar blower which could make the air go cold, yet with that new discovery it could be possible in the future. So basically you would not need to take a hot air from the room and transport it outside, you could simply lower the temperature of the device itself just like you make it go hotter.

    • @Shy_guy9795

Well, i meant the temperature. Modern AC's needs two devices and tubes between them. One device is outside and another inside to transport the heat from inside to outside but in that science article, it was said that according to some quantum mechanics properties, you could run temperature not just from cold to hot like in hair blower or stove but the other way around, from hot to cold without breaking the laws of thermodynamics.
