I always love how when you try to do a build and price on their website there's always completely arbitrary option combinations that you cannot configure. It's always dumb stuff too. Like you want a certain kind of floor mats and then you want a tow package, and it tells you you can't get the tow package unless you delete the floor mats. "What? You want the 12 inch screen instead of the 8 inch screen? OK, but no cupholders!" It's ridiculous.
I agree. I also hate that anything that is not chrome defaults you back to Agate Black for the color. Like the black appearance package is only available if you want a black truck. Want black wheels, you need a black truck. Do you want to tow stuff and you want the tow mirrors, well then you can only have a 5.0, no ecoboost or powerboost for your - why would you want to tow a travel trailer and be able to power it from your truck for seems to think. This is for the Lariat. If you want any of these options then you need to go Platinum just to be able to make color changes that are technically trim agnostic.
GM is doing this crap with their trucks. I can't get a sunroof unless I pick the ridiculous "driver aid" package which costs a whopping $2,000. So that $500 sunroof costs $2,500. GM and Ford can choke on their inventory for all I care. I'm NOT interested.

I sold Fords in the early 90s. Back then there was Custom, XL, XLT and XLT Lariat with 3 engine choices (300 I6, 302 and 351) on the F150 as well as 460 and Diesel on F250/350. Loaded was power windows/locks, AC, tilt, cruise and cassette. Kinda miss those days.

I wanted to order a crew king ranch with 6.5 box ( hate short boxes) someday. Not if they dump the heated/power steering wheel & massaging seats. What would be the point? My 502 lariat has a heated steering wheel.
I was just about to say. I'm pretty sure he missed the Tremor Model, which is what I recommend to anyone that don't necessarily need a Raptor, and want more fuel efficiency with a 3.5L V6. I drive a 2023 Tremor, don't regret it one bit! Biggest thing I would love to have is the HUD system , and maybe the new tailgate design over the 2023 model.
Work trucks were originally designed to tow and haul stuff. Today you can't get a basic 8 cyl XL with a tow/haul pkg or FX4 pkg. Almost every truck I see is a shortbed. Am I the only one thinking Ford is losing the working man?
The way they are headed people are going to look at Dodge. Never thought I would say that!! If Dodge gets that new straight six right it could be nice.
I like the F150, i don’t like Ford’s resistance to a getting away from the stupid suicide door on the super cab. The other manufacturers have figured out an out how to make regular doors work but Ford continues to put a door system that you can’t use in a parking garage or with other cars next you. To get the regular doors you have to get a short bed standard which is just annoying.
I wish companies would separate the "black-outed' exterior option from the interior. I'd like the Lariat with the black alloys and non-chrome/black finish but the gray color interior. Also, the way things are going in the auto industry everything outside of a steering wheel and seats is going to be part of an upcharge package or an additional option going forward!

So you say Platinum badging all around the vehicle. Isn't that only if you jump to the Platinum Plus? That includes the CCD which no one wants. That's also included in the 702A package which you MUST get if you want the moonroof. You can get the Platinum without the CCD, and with the FX4 offroad package, but ONLY if you get the 701A package. Forget the lettering, massage seats, moon roof option. You do get the power floor boards though. lol. Thats important because you CAN NOT get that with the Lariat anymore. Actually thats really all you get by jumping up to the Platinum 701A from the Lariat. The Lariat does offer the heads up display. The Platinum does not unless you go with the 702A. No tow mirrors on the Platinum unless you go 701A. Pretty much impossible to build a truck on the site anymore.
Couple things to mention. I ordered a king ranch. LED dynamic bending headlights included. Hybrid included with a discount that offsets the purchase price. FX4 package also removed CCD suspension.
I keep wondering when they are going to do a powerboost 2.7tt. They could really play with the mileage and beat my F150powerboost. A full size truck that gets 30mpg doesnt sound to bad
I just ordered a 2024 XLT, and found the "new ordering system" to be extremely frustrating. IMO the "new ordering system" is nothing more than a way for Ford to force you into a higher trim package (with the associated significant price jump). I personally hate crew cabs, so I ordered a Supercab, and specifically wanted the 2.7 engine. In the XLT you CANNOT get any type of sliding rear window with a 2.7. What!?!? I even called around to find out if any glass/accessory stores could get/install a power slider.... NOPE! And due to the complexity of the truck's electronics, unless the factory installs a power slider wiring harness, nobody will even touch it. For me, it just means much more time and out of pocket AFTER I take delivery of the truck. So I AM NOT A FAN of the so called "new and improved" ordering system.
I have a 2019 STX with the 5.0. Nice truck not overly complicated with tech but just enough to fit my needs. Bought mine new for 36,000 new in 2019 and don’t plan on getting a new truck anytime soon. They are getting too expensive and too many issues. Luckily I know how to fix anything I gotta fix on my truck so that’ll save me the labor costs but even the parts are expensive.
Nice video! Perhaps when the big three decide to make a product it's customers can afford, I'll buy one! Until then, let's Bud Light them! Wait until the UAW settles their strike 😂.
I wish you would do the same thing for the F250/350. I want a truck to pull my Ranger rock crawler that has power and good road handling. In diesel I find the axle configurations confusing.
Another option available on the King Ranch is the max-tow, which is gained by selecting the 3.55 electronic locking rear-diff. Also, the B&O sound system has been reduced from eighteen (10) to fourteen (14) speakers. The four (4) speakers lost were the ones in the headrests.
On the B&O Unleashed, it's still 18 speakers. The initial announcement was wrong, according to a local dealership. I have it in my 21 KR and I just love it!!
Its about time with the projection headlights. I drove the first year patrol car Explorer with projection headlights. It REALLY sucked on county roads with no painted lines.
Wow, so the build and price guide was right...the chrome package is no longer available on the King Ranch. Glad I got my 21 when I did cause I don't like the painted mirrors or bumpers on the KR trim.
When I was going through the Ford ordering system I noticed that the Lariat listed 14 speaker B&O system but you mentioned 18 speakers. Would like some clarification as well as I am a Ford salesman too.
Great job on putting out such detailed video. Just wondering...did you left the Tremor out on purpose? I would love to hear where does that fit in the options. Thanks.
Are you still offering invoice pricing? I live and work In Ky at the Kentucky truck plant so I was curious if u can do invoice pricing on top of the A plan discount. Huge fan of the channel thanks!
I'm excited for the new 24 with the upgraded dash and led headlights. Already have my order in for the standard xl standard cab short bed. What's nice this year is that the 5.0 and 3.73 lockers are standard equipment. That saves a little money over the 23 model.
Looking at this video observing the "new" upgrades for 2024. Nothing really new here but the boondoggle tailgate and 12" screen. My 2019 XLT has many of these features. Just more lit plastic for a buttload more money.
Updated front end. Updated rear end. New tailgate. Storage units built into the bed of the truck. Heads up display. Bluecruise on an XLT. Dual Live Valve on Raptor. Power boost is same price as Ecoboost. There’s a few changes. But keep in mind this is just a mid cycle refresh. Not a complete overhaul.
Boy am I glad I ordered a 2022 XLT, I personally hate that “coast to coast” grill with a passion. I also went full pull 302A and basically went lariat without leather. I hate that you can’t get the nicer front end until you go lariat, can’t have leather with my dogs they will destroy it
Man. This video was L O N G. Totally worth the watch though. May be giving y'all a call for a new Lariat. POSSIBLY an XLT. Gonna have to decide between value vs cost between the two packages.
Can you permanently remove or disable the auto hold? Is it possible to fully disable the start stop feature? Can hill assist be removed/disabled Do you have to have/use the app?
I have the Sierra 1500 with multi flex tail gate, and in all objectivity, it’s much better than the configuration Ford came up with, the GMC allows for the whole gate to fold down into multiple configurations , still giving you complete access, it’s just better.
I was under the impression that 4H will only grenade your T-case if you make turns with it. It makes a terrible creaking noise if you do that. But I use 4H on snow covered highways (with no significant turns) all the time.
I agree with you; in fact, I purchased a new 2022 Lariat because I wanted the Lariat features along with the center seat to accommodate my dog! Starting with '23, Ford restricted the 40/20/40 seat to the XLT and below, but at least you could order most of the nice options on that trim. Now it appears that for '24 you can't even get the 40/20/40 seat with most of the popular options.
So glad to see Ford is still keeping the STX package, so when the day comes to replace my 2018 XL STX it looks like I will be able to do so. Thanks for all the homework in this video it couldn't have been easy. (:
I hope Ford is reading this...why can't I get the blackout package on a lariat supercrew long bed? Why can't I add tow mirrors to a powerboost? It makes absolutely no sense. I use my truck for towing and hauling, and even built/wired my enclosed trailer around the powerboost generator feature. I want to build a '24 like my '21, but it won't let me. I don't want chrome, I want tow mirrors. If I can't configure the truck the way I want it, what is the point?!?!
Another EXCELLENT video! What I cannot find though is how to order a SuperCrew 6.5' bed Hybrid in black trim. Apparently this configuration is only available on the Platinum model?? They have the parts for 6.5' bed black trim, but customers only choice is chrome? This cannot be correct, right? I really appreciate any info on this.
Mitchell, Is it true that on the new 2024 F 150 if the option is in the package you can not delete one item in that package. I was informed nothing can be added individually or take anything away from the package. Is this a true statement on the new f 150? please advise.
Good stuff. A question about that quick access tailgate where the center section opens sideways. Is there going to be an issue with max weight capacity on the center section of the tailgate when the side opening door is closed and the tailgate is opened flat the traditional way? I'm a big guy, and I like to stand on the open tailgate at various times for various reasons. Any idea what its weight capacity will be, and if, how much different than if no side opening center section? And do you think with the tailgate closed, and now 4 vertical seams rather than just 2 with 1 on either side, that it might allow water inside through those extra seams with a good cover over the bed, be more of an issue than the traditional solid tailgate? These are my two main issues about it. What an advantage this new quick access or pro access tailgate offers with that side opening center section. When I buy my new F150, still deciding which, likely between the Platinum, Tremor or Raptor late in 2024, I plan to put a smooth, black Diamondback HD bedcover on it, which if installed carefully pretty much eliminates all normal water leaks into the inside, but wondering if and how this new tailgate might change that.
I have to correct you on the King Ranch seats. I purchased a brand new 21 in November of 20 and it has the multi-contour seats and they have been available since.
You shouldn't order an F150, period. Not because they're bad trucks, but because it's taking Ford 9-12 months to deliver them, thus handing you a big, fat full year of depreciation the day you take ownership (or thereabouts). Unless these fellas are giving you invoice MINUS $10K+.
I might be ordering one in the near future from you. I showed my brother in law the 2 door supercharged trucks you guys sell and he bought a white one from you with a Whipple. I heard that here in NY you can't get them inspected? Have you heard that? Thanks for this video.
Thank you for the thorough explanation, if I win the lottery I will go through your dealer to buy my new F -150. This will be an opportunity to sell a f150 with a plow package in the south.
What happened to the center opening tailgate ? Is ford going to make it available on all trim levels ? Seems to me it should be standard on a basic work truck , thanks
A lot of information and a lot of work to produce this video. Thank you for your effort. Did I miss the reference to the new tailgate option and is the larger fuel tank still an option?
We didn’t talk about that tailgate, and we also didn’t talk tremor since those are both late availability. The information is not available in detail from ford.
Supposedly the 36 gallon fuel tank will become standard unless you get the hybrid I believe. Check out TFL truck’s video on the 2024 f150 & he mentions it & shows the chart posted by ford regarding the fuel tank sizing.
How do the cooled seats work on these new f150s? I got a 2016 and they were mediocre...Im guessing there worse now? Summer time they really do nothing lol Gotta be like 80 degrees to notice.

Not offering the 5.0 past the Lariat trim level is a bummer. Currently a 2018 King Ranch owner with the 5.0. A really good engine

Can you permanently remove or disable the auto hold?
Is it possible to fully disable the start stop feature?
Can hill assist be removed/disabled
Do you have to have/use the app?
I have the Sierra 1500 with multi flex tail gate, and in all objectivity, it’s much better than the configuration Ford came up with, the GMC allows for the whole gate to fold down into multiple configurations , still giving you complete access, it’s just better.
Is the new divided tail gate standard on king ranches and above?
I was under the impression that 4H will only grenade your T-case if you make turns with it. It makes a terrible creaking noise if you do that. But I use 4H on snow covered highways (with no significant turns) all the time.
At 14:00 Mitchell is speaking about the STX 201 Pkg, but Screen is showing the 301 Pkg with Chrome wheels. oops.
I want a lariat with the 40/20/40 bench seats
I agree with you; in fact, I purchased a new 2022 Lariat because I wanted the Lariat features along with the center seat to accommodate my dog! Starting with '23, Ford restricted the 40/20/40 seat to the XLT and below, but at least you could order most of the nice options on that trim. Now it appears that for '24 you can't even get the 40/20/40 seat with most of the popular options.
Is there no tremor option in the US like in Canada? Thank you for the great video
Did they fix all the recall issues.. they should work on that
So glad to see Ford is still keeping the STX package, so when the day comes to replace my 2018 XL STX it looks like I will be able to do so. Thanks for all the homework in this video it couldn't have been easy. (:
2 speed transfer cases have 4l and 4h
make a video on the super duty
Why is it that when you add the black package to the lariat, the Dynamic adaptive headlights remove? What do you get instead?
F150 5.0 3.31 or 3.73 axle for daily driving?
I hope Ford is reading this...why can't I get the blackout package on a lariat supercrew long bed? Why can't I add tow mirrors to a powerboost? It makes absolutely no sense. I use my truck for towing and hauling, and even built/wired my enclosed trailer around the powerboost generator feature. I want to build a '24 like my '21, but it won't let me. I don't want chrome, I want tow mirrors. If I can't configure the truck the way I want it, what is the point?!?!
Thank you for running through this. So helpful.
When they stopped making the Lincoln PU all those nice trims started the plat?
Can you do this for the ranger
Nobody does it better than this guy!
Yep, Still cant get the power folding trailer mirrors on an XLT for 24
Ridiculous
Question. Does the 2024 king ranch come with that Chrome tailgate appliqué.
Talk about all the recalls!! What's going on at Ford?
I just picked up a 23 raptor with the 37 performance pac. But if I could order a raptor R at msrp I’d definitely be interested in doing some business
Mitchell,
Is it true that on the new 2024 F 150 if the option is in the package you can not delete one item in that package.
Sweet! Can't wait to buy one of these in 10 years!
sorry bud, this new fruity ipad with wheels is not made to last 10 years
CCD standard on 24KR?
Mitchell where is the new tailgate option in the 2024 configurator? Not there. Isn't the new tailgate going to be available initially?
I have to correct you on the King Ranch seats. I purchased a brand new 21 in November of 20 and it has the multi-contour seats and they have been available since.
You shouldn't order an F150, period. Not because they're bad trucks, but because it's taking Ford 9-12 months to deliver them, thus handing you a big, fat full year of depreciation the day you take ownership (or thereabouts). Unless these fellas are giving you invoice MINUS $10K+.
I have a ‘13 Lariat 5.0 with 230K and runs like new. Why won’t they build a 5.0 Powerboost? And do they still have low profile fuse #27?
The na 3.3 v6 should of stayed. I love my 3.5 na v6. 161k miles and not one problem.
Cant find this new tailgate on the configurator. When will it be available?
When is the new upgraded tailgate is available for order?
Available on Lariat trim and above on 24's. Not on lower trims.
Mitchell can you get the 5.0 liter engine in the 2024 F150 Platinum?
no
Is there additional cost to have a truck delivered to San Juan, Puerto Rico 00969?
When will the 2024 be on the car lot
I might be ordering one in the near future from you. I showed my brother in law the 2 door supercharged trucks you guys sell and he bought a white one from you with a Whipple. I heard that here in NY you can't get them inspected? Have you heard that?
Thanks for this video.
Thank you for the thorough explanation, if I win the lottery I will go through your dealer to buy my new F -150. This will be an opportunity to sell a f150 with a plow package in the south.
The 2KW PPO appears not available with V8s?
Thank you for the knowledge on this video.
I drank four beers during this video 🍺
Please let me know where i can get the 30.3L gas engine. Would love to get my hands on one of those.
They were available in Europe about 1912.
Why did you not cover the Tremor.
How do the cooled seats work on these new f150s? I got a 2016 and they were mediocre...Im guessing there worse now? Summer time they really do nothing lol Gotta be like 80 degrees to notice.
Hey what’s the best package for the FX4 2024?
