I love that you aren't afraid to show jams. I think that many youtubers hide gun problems.
Sometimes I wonder if youtubers will do that in a real life situation since they've trained themselves to look for a camera when a malfunction occurs 🤔
I appreciate that Cam
The shooting public needs and wants the unbiased truth and you're the man to give it to us. Thank you 👍
I really appreciate that bro
The more reviews I see of the TH10 the more I realize the gun just needs a break-in period since even with the heavy bear loads it started to gradually feed those just fine after a few jams.
Also, someone mentioned that if you oil the mag release and press them a lot, they break in a lot faster.
Thank you.
Well said Seth
Nice video Dan. Also, great to see 10mm becoming more mainstream.
I agree Eric. Thanks man
Thanks Dock
@@TheFireArmGuy You're welcome Dan
Good to know Dan , looks like a 500 round break in is needed and an adjustable rear sight will hit your target better. Thanks for admitting the flaws .
Well said Jet
I want one I have the TH9c and it works great and I love the 10mm 😁
Thanks brother
Yo Danno ,showing the good and the bad things of this firearm. This make you the TFG.
I appreciate that Murat
I have the TH45 and have had no issues.
I have the TH9 1 pound 14 inches loaded with 14 rounds , I carried loaded all the time . If decoked they will never miss fire, and you may add night sights really easy
The TH series looks like the Taurus 800 series pistols. With a refresh of the frame texture. We own an 809 that is reliable and accurate. But it is a real chunk.
I've shot the 809 and it is a chunk
I like this one and the TH45
Thanks man
"The Good, Bad & Ugly" seems to be just okay. But for "A Few Dollars More" you could have a Smith M&P 2.0 10mm that runs just fine. And for "A Fist Full of Dollars", you could have.......
A Wilson Combat?
@@TheFireArmGuy *…a few thousand dollars more. 😂
@@TheFireArmGuyI was thinking of the SIG P Series 10 mm. If they even make it anymore. 😢. The Taurus looks interesting though.
👍Good stuff. I like Taurus. It’s a good build but not perfect. I have a G2c that’s never given issue. Took me a bit to figure trigger out. I also have a G3 & a TH9 in .40SW. Taking up space in the safe. Thx for the shooting & info! 👍🇺🇸
Much appreciated Major
Love your reviews.
Thanks for the honest review. Always appreciated
Looking forward to the update. Thanks Dan and happy Easter
Thanks Mike. Happy Easter!
👍👍 Great job Dan, appreciate it brother
Thanks Lance
I like where they’re going with the TH series. I’ve been interested in the TH10 as I already have “enough” 9mm guns. Love your perspective.
Much appreciated Ryan
Taurus feed ramps used to be very steep. Have to keep them clean and polished.
Good stuff Floyd
Thanks, Dan. That's frustrating. I had a problem with last rounds not feeding on a gun back in the 90s and it turned out to be bad aftermarket mags.
Very true that bad mags cause issues. Thanks Andy
Great video
Thanks!
Thank you. Have been considering adding this to my ten millimeter collection. I carried a S&W 1076 for work for years and I enjoyed the horsepower it provided me.
Thank you for sharing Dan I got tired of waiting and looking bought a ria 1911 for now if I find the th10 I may get it have a great Easter
Happy Easter Les
Thanks for the review ...I have the Hi Point 10mm...at first was going to get Taurus then as with your review others also had FTF/FTE...I have already put over 300 rounds through my Hi Point...S&B ...Blazer Brass and Hot SIG JHPs with 0 issues I made a good choice no Regrets Hopefully Taurus will work out the Bugs I own all G Series Pistols and they are Flawless!😊
I messaged Taurus about recoil spring weight and they told they have a 13 or 15 pound recoil spring in it so I would invest in at least a 20 pound recoil spring in it
Thank you, perfect video for me right now. I want a G3 9mm. But have 9mm stuff already and have really wanted a 10mm.
Thanks Walker
When I saw this vid pop up on my feed, I knew I just had to watch it an hear your opinion on it. But I thought the MSRP was supposed to be around $ 400 bucks, oh well, will wait ahwile, an see if it improves, or they come out with a gen 2 in the future. Thx for the vid FG
Th9 after used is very convenient, decoker and manual safety. Love the hammers with manual safety and decocked they will never have an unintentional misfire
I’ve had failure to feed with the g3 but I fixed it by flipping the spring in the mag and never had a problem ever again
It's funny every time you show a TAURUS it has problems, I have 4 TAURUS firearms all work great right out of the box no problems 🙃
The M&P 10 has feeding issues too.
You sure Kerry? I recall you saying great job with other Taurus reviews
Looks to be a good entry level 10mm! Will be great to see how it shoots once you get 4-500 rds thru it! Thanks for the video Brother & shoot on!!
Much appreciated John
If you're using Federal ammo, they pud load the powder to be exactly the same as .40 S&W which is too weak to cycle properly.
My CZ .45 10f. did the same. Sent it to CZ took them a month and they sent it back.
Nice review and showing the initial troubles you had. The TH10 is like my Colt 1911... tighter tolerances that need a break in period. Any follow up videos addressing this would be helpful.
Thank you for the great reviews!
I appreciate that McD
Glad to see your review on this gun, Dan.
I do want to trust this for a bear gun. I like hammer fired guns and i like the capacity.
If i don’t get this one, I’m leaning toward the Glock 40. But I miss my hammer on Glocks, but my G31 is a favorite of mine.
I won't be getting one but best of luck with your TH.Dan & thank you!
Thanks Buz. You ARE the Man
Just put TH10 on layaway today. I like it! Also have FN510 and G20.5
Looking forward to the hammer fired Taurus!
Another extractor. You may need to open it up some. To let the case rim slide up into it better. They're a drop in part on cheaper guns. And just needs a tweek.
Thanks Dan for the time you put in. No go for me.. I am still keeping my beloved CZ's
Much appreciated Paul
What does CZ make in 10mm?
I like the fact it’s a da/sa 10mm not many out there today!
Thanks Jay
That's why ladies and gentlemen I always wait at least one year after a gun comes on the market before I purchase it. Let them get the lumps out of it first before I buy it. Patients is a virtue.
Good stuff roadking
Man , that thing looks promising .
After the break in
Take the FTF in proper context:
1) I can make any damn gun, in any caliber - jam if I select ammo it does not like. That is just the reality of ALL semi-auto pistols.
2) Everything is stiff on a new gun, especially slide spring and magazine spring. If you're going to critically review a pistol, at least load the mags and let them sit for a few weeks first. Pull the slide back and let it sit that way for a few weeks as well. AND...shoot it with different types of ammo and see if the jams continue.
I see that thing does give you a pretty sizable muzzle rise. As far as the breaking in period Some pistols do require a break-in period, which I'm not a fan of. Even my Shadow Systems CR920 Elite War Poet model, which is more than twice the cost of this Taurus had a 200 round break in.
I find that most, if not all, Taurus semi auto handguns need "break-ins", especially those imported from Brazil... I typically clean and lube mine, dry fire it several hundred times, then clean it and lube it again before i ever run it at the range... I've never yet had a problem with one if mine, other than mag related issues with cheap aftermarket mags that I've tried.
I am a fan of Taurus generally... Prefer them ahead of striker fired SIGs and Canik... But not S&W, Springfield and FN.
Great comment John
What kind of ammo you running? I know you know this but I'll share it anyway, I've got 3 cheap guns that will only run round nosed and no Federal flat nosed or cheap hollow points. They'll run round nosed all day long with no jams and jam immediately on Federal flats or hollow points. I've polished the ramps well too. Ruger, Sccy, and an old Bryco. I just know their limitations and live with it.
Hope you get it figured out.
Well said Gregg
Just purchased this weapon. Have had several Taurus weapons with no significant issues. With that said, the mag release on this TH10mm is horrible…a real bear to drop the mag! Any suggestions?
Wish sig made something very similar
Most new guns need to be cleaned and polished , all points of contact , mags loaded stored and gun left locked back for a week !
Good stuff Abel
I’m wondering how you always seem to find Shooting spots that don’t have a whole bunch of gunshots going off in the background. That makes your videos much nicer because those gunshots don’t distract from what you’re doing and what you’re saying. But I notice you go to several different spots and they all seem to be quiet all around you. Looks like whatever state it is it’s got a lot of good spots to go shoot
Thanks James. I have four outdoor ranges. One is Riders Range
@@TheFireArmGuy do you have to drive very far? Here in Arizona I have to drive at least 45 minutes to get to the closest outdoor shooting area.
Hi Sir i love your honesty about weapons - The first thing i do when i buy any new weapon i open it up and dehorn it and polish the internals thoroughly and lube the weapon that way the weapon shouldn't need a break in period - I been shooting for over 20 plus years never shoot a factory new weapon until you do a full PMCS on it - All my weapons run like a rocket ship - Great video as usual Sir !!!
Love the comment GTO
My son in law was looking at 10mm and the Taurus was similar in price to a 10 MM Glock.
I seen the brass flying back at you and all over the place. Is that common with your gun?
So far, yes
Got some snap.
No doubt bro
For me, it comes down to ammo availability and price if it ain't 9mm
38/357 or 45 not interested
Alot people having problems with the taurus th10 running hot hard cast 10mm ammo. Which if using for bear protection or personal defense knock down power is the purpose of 10mm. Disappointing as this was an affordable 10 mm and big step up from hi point.
I'd are looking reliable and affordable 10mm the spring field xdm 10mm is the next step up.
A lot of people aren't interested in doing business with an anti-2A company like Springfield. The FN, SIG, and S&W are better options.
Looks like a polymer 2011 in 10 MM
Thanks Louis
They should dust off the old PT24/7 design and update that. I have not been impressed with any of the TH lineups.
Dan, it’s not your fault, you are one helluva dead nut shooter buddy.👍
Thanks a bunch Scott
Ammo???
👍
Looks like it has a little bit of recoil.
A gun should function reliably right out of the box.. Should not need a break in period.
For what I see in the video has less recoil than the Glock FS20
I like the G-series 9mm pistols and the Taurus 66, but I'm a bit weary about buying a budget 10mm that's not a Hi-Point. I've seen a lot of good things about the Hi-Point but those things are absolute tanks. Good, honest review!
I appreciate that Brock
I have the Hi Point JXP10mm...It is a good ...Solid 10mm gun 0 issues with all ammo i have fed it including Hot SIG JHPs!😊❤
They've made TH40s and .454 Casull revolvers for years, so I'm sure they're capable of making a durable 10mm.
RoaR
You never said what ammunition you’re using which with 10mm it could be less than a target load 40 cal up to BB or Grizzly 200 at 1300. Your ammunition seems to send to cases back at 5:30 and some almost over your right shoulder. My very first guess is it sprung for NORMA 10mm loads but you are using target loads or Federal or some other underpowered 10mm ammunition. People are quick to give an opinion based on nothing more than repeating what someone else says. Put some Underwood or Double Tap through it and see if it ejects any cycles better. And please stick with loads that are no heavier than the original 200grain and less Normal loads. People continue trying to shove 500grain bullets in a 10mm and call it junk when it doesn’t feed it……maybe it wasn’t designed to? Yes the 500 grain was a facetious remark…..someone is going to ask where they can get 500 grain 10mm cartridges
👍👍
We will see what happens. I like taurus pistols
Get the Smith if you don't want a Glock.
Thanks DS
The S&W is decent, but they still don't offer a DA/SA option.
They should have put it out in their 1911 platform - way better than their polymer frame pistols
I wouldn't mind that
Their 1911s are a bit pricey and overrated. RIA already offers affordable single and double stack 10mm 1911s. There was a lack of DA/SA 10mm options, so they went for that market instead.
I still can't get into Taurus but I have issues ...
Thanks Rich
Respectfully between 4:07 4:10 Sir.
Thank you
@@TheFireArmGuy I've been a fan of yours for a long time Sir. Enjoy your videos very much.
Thanks Dan. My last two Taurus handguns both were defective and went back. 8 weeks later still waiting on the revolver.
Hope you get it back soon bro
The thing looks like a handful. Oof!
Thanks Bob
Those shells hit you in the face ?
No cases hit my face
👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🔫💯💯🔫☕️☕️
The good: it's a gun... Technically
The bad: it's a Taurus
The ugly: it needs a break in... and it's a Taurus
Thanks Jumbo
Ejection all over the place.
Hard pass on Taurus
Thanks Max
The jury is still out cause it's a Taurus 😂😂
Thanks Scott
It might be a good gun, but too many calibers that don't fit a need
Or purpose
Not excited about 10mm
Why wouldn't you be excited about 10mm? It offers nearly the power of a .357 Magnum and the same capacity as a .40 S&W. With Underwood Xtreme Penetrators, it can even go through soft body armour. It's the most capable round available for practical carry pistols, and it's also great for bear defense. It definitely serves a purpose.
❤ it truly how much is it truly I want one and the 45 greatest vibes ever respect from 205 pisces black alpha male Birmingham Alabama home of the Civil rights moment
Most of the Alaskan guntubers exposed this pile of crap for what it is. Even more laughable is the fact that it's priced right at a G20 Gen4's price point. Get the Glock and save yourself the pain & embarrassment...
Thanks man
Glocks also malfunction, and they don't offer anything in DA/SA. A lot of people aren't a fan of their grip angle, either. The TH10 is an option the market needed.
If you think failure rates of Taurus and Glocks are even in the same galaxy, you're both dumber than you look.
Da/Sa is preferential for some folks, sure. But if it's utter crap like what Taurus churns out, it's not worth it...
Hey brother, take your earplugs out during the talking parts. You're like 3 feet away from your camera and you're yelling at us.😅
I have actually thought about that but I am a screamer in real life
@@TheFireArmGuy 😂👍🏻
Junk gun just like the smith. Paper weights
Perhaps not junk. Just needs a little work
Possibly true. I think there are better options out there now. After 2.5 years I have had enough of Smith and Wesson games and threw my 10 in the trash can. This gun along with other videos remind me of the same issues. Sad because I wanted the Smith to be the gun in so many ways. Happy Easter, great work.
