    I took my MAC 1014 to the range for the first time yesterday for a break-in. I started off with 15 rounds of Remington slugs at 1560 FPS. Next, I fired 94 Winchester 2 3/4“ 1oz. #8 Dove & Clay rounds at 1350 FPS (I kept 6 back for home defense until I can get some buck). That’s 109 break-in rounds without a hiccup.
    Then I ran to Wally world and bought 50 more rounds - 25 Winchester #7 1 oz. steel shot at 1290 FPS and 25 Winchester #7 ½ 1oz. shot at 1250 FPS. The MAC gobbled them up too - first 10 rounds of the 1290 FPS stuff and then 10 rounds of the 1250 FPS stuff, followed by the rest of the 1290 shells and then the remainder of the 1250. So 159 flawless rounds total thru the Mac within a couple of hours with no cleaning or oiling.
    I am mightily impressed with this little Turkish copy of the Benelli M4!
    It does seem to get awfully dirty after firing though…

    Honestly super happy with mine. I've got the same model with the wood furniture. I wasn't expecting much given the price tag, but it's really pulled through: I'm at around 1200 rounds fired (mostly birdshot, to be fair) and attended my first shooting competition with it yesterday morning. Placed 4th out of 15; 1st in my division! The only guys ahead of me in the combined rankings had either 10+ round magazines like you see in all the 'Tactical Shotgun Tips' videos, or detachable magazines (Saiga-12). Not much you can do about that. :P
    Would I stake my life on it or exalt it as a great SHTF weapon? No, that's the AR-15's job honestly. But for blasting paper, clay, and steel in a range environment it's a fantastic value.

    Is there a model number for gas system?
    Is there an advantage of replacing a 7 round tube vs the 2 round extension?

    • @BendingBallistics
      @BendingBallistics  2 месяца назад

      @Left-Blank it would be the benelli m4 gas system if you wanted to upgrade it and 7 round tube vs 2 round extension the 7 round tube would be 1 solid piece( i personally would prefer) vs 2 round extension would be screwed into current tube. Really at the end of the day it would come down to personal preference in tube extension

    I just bought that gun at $345. An oversize release and charging handle, red dot, sling, ext tube are great ad ons for a few bucks. Check out the rev arms m4, it's got all the dodads already on it with a ported barrel.

    Usually an inertia system works better than a gas system but high brass would be the preferred operating round anyway, now I wonder if I need to get a gas system vs inertia 🧐

    • @BendingBallistics
      @BendingBallistics  3 месяца назад

      @brucesistrunk4520 inertia system does not work better then a gas system on a firearm if it did the m1grand would have never been replaced by the m4 carbine. A gas system runs cleaner and generally smoother then an inertia system. If there is a gas option I generally always pick gas over inertia system

    • @Barikade
      @Barikade 24 дня назад

      @@BendingBallisticsInteresting. I've always read inertia is cleaner but more recoil. Gas faster less recoil and a little more reliable. Learn something different every day 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Inertia will eat the low brass way better than the piston system.

      That's false.. inertia systems require more energy in recoil to operate cycle

    I simply couldn’t trust my life to a Turkish copy of much of anything. So many potential failure points in the metallurgy , the machining, and the parts. A lot of guns work, quality simply dictates for how long. Might be a fun range toy though.

    • @BendingBallistics
      @BendingBallistics  Месяц назад +2

      @cameljoe212 i respect your stance on that however any firearm can fail weather it's American made or Turkish made ect they all have failure points

    • @cameljoe212
      @cameljoe212 Месяц назад

      You speak truth, but in my experience the QC on guns from Turkey simply isn’t there and doesn’t lend itself to long term reliability. We pay 2K for a Benelli knowing the processes that manufactured it are fine tooth comb reviewed daily and randomly tested for both composition and spec. The 1014 simply isn’t held to this standard. I looked at a MAC5K the other day, was interested until I calipered the bolt gap. Not so much now. You pay HK for a reason. Same with Benelli.

    • @BendingBallistics
      @BendingBallistics  Месяц назад +1

      @cameljoe212 i mean i have seen $2k price range firearms fail, i have also seen $400 price range firearms run like a champ, failures happen. But the mac1014 isn't a shtf style shotgun for me it's more of a range gun because of the reliability issues I have experienced with it, however where the mac1014 comes in nice is you can buy the shell as the mac1014 and put all benelli parts in it including bolt and have a benelli at the fraction of the cost. However it's still not a benelli I'll say that

    • @cameljoe212
      @cameljoe212 Месяц назад

      Right there with you on the MAC5 as well, would like to find one with a good bolt gap and replace the extractor, ejector, and trigger pack with hk parts. Still 1200 less than the sp5.
