Correct me, as I am not a fluent jazz guitarist but doesn't the 3/4 time signature in Flower Power, have a Hemiola impression, or is just the eclectic timing & style of John Riley?

I'll never forget a drummer buddy and I went to a Sco show back in the early 90s expecting to see the funky Chambers/Grainger rhythm section, but instead it was this trio with Riley & Cox. We were pissed...LOL!!! But it turned out to be a musical blessing for me because it broadened my mind and opened up my ears to this particular style of playing. Over time I came to enjoy Sco's more straight-ahead Jazz offerings as much as his Jazz/Rock offerings, and it was largely due to that show featuring Riley and Cox. They were some very nice guys BTW, really cool and keen to take pics and chat with us after the show. But 'Still Warm' will always be the ONE.

I saw this group in the UK in the 90's with Joe Lovano. I would've loved to see this trio!

First time I saw Sco perform live I was expecting to see his highly influential Jazz/Funk rhythm section of Chambers/Grainger, but instead he performed with this trio. I was highly pissed but I sat and listened anyway, not knowing that show was going to dramatically change the way I hear the music. Now I actually prefer hearing JS play 'straight ahead' more than I like hearing him play 'Fusion', although 'Still Warm' is still probably my fave Scofield album...LOL!

Ok. why in God's name would you cut this video off before the end of the song??? That's like cutting an "adult" film before the (wink wink) ending!!!! :(

Some guitar player named "Josh" said John was one of his main influences, so I came to learn he wasn't Joshing!
