Both are good options. Depends on the app you use and the features that matter. Sentry Mini is the least expensive way to get weather in the cockpit, but there's no battery or AHRS. Sentry adds that battery and AHRS (great for synthetic vision) plus a carbon monoxide detector. Stratus 3 works with multiple apps (including ForeFlight) and has options for external antennas (useful if you're going to remote mount it).

ADS B is garbage and keeps miss identifying aircraft and that's for starters. FAA will likely be pushed to postpone requirement until 2021 or later.
