good video...glad your happy...im doing a 2.25" level kit this sat...i have a 15 GMC Z71 4X4..im gonna run my stock wheels tires till next year..then spend the money on bigger tires just a little and aftermarket wheels!
NEVER put bolts from bottom up. (Block) If the nuts come loose that bolt will fall right out. The other way, if nut falls at least the bolt will keep it together until you pull over.
Your correct on putting the bolts from the top to bottom which is just the opposite of how they leave GM, And even the instructions say to install the bolts from top to bottom (Opposite of GM)
I did not get an alignment, the truck drives straight. However, it would probably be best to get an alignment to make sure there isn't any camber that may effect your tire wear.
These from factory look like a 70s hot rod chevy van lol. Did this the first time with the 2" lower spacers. Used a Prybar , my weight and slipped it in. Took no time at all. Now I went with 3" front, 2" rear, upper control arms, diff drop spacers, and rear shock extensions. Just need the blisteins 5100 front and rear. Got some videos of it, and one with a recent custom tune. Drivabiity is 100% better then stock. Whats your future plans for yours?
That sounds like a clean build. Currently, I do not have much else that I am going to do to this truck. My primary focus is working on the s10 and getting the ls swap complete. However, I would like to put a larger lift on the and new wheels and tires on the silverado, but that won't be for a while.
I’m thinking about doing this shortcut method. Have you noticed any problems caused by not following all of the steps to a T? Also, did you go back and check your bolts after the recommended 300 (or whatever) miles?
I have not had any problems with the truck after installing the leveling kit. The truck drives perfect. I did however get the truck aligned before I put a new set of tires on it, so I would suggest doing that. I did not go back and check the bolts after a set mileage, but it never hurts to do so.
I did the 2" level on my 18 Silverado and decided it wasn't enough. So I went to 3" front 2" rear with new ReadyLift upper A arms and 34" tires. Still looks to low me.🙈
It is a 2 inch kit, not a 2.5. Here is a link to the kit I bought www.ruggedoffroad.com/product-page/2007-2017-chevy-silverado-gmc-sierra-1500-6-lug-2-0-leveling-kit

Nice to see someone using their head and finding a shortcut from breaking the ball joints. Much easier this way, even if a little fiddly.
I’m surprised that you didn’t have to disconnect the ball join and the tie rod as the other videos
Def a good video 👌🏼
Just bought a 2018 z71 a week ago. I want to do this.
Now I just need to convince my wife. Don't laugh. Most of you know what I'm talking about 😉
Just do it she probably won’t even find out
@@victorh2916 you are so right.
Does it rub on the upper control arm at all with the leveling kit and those rims?
You should get it aligned and also headlight s needs to be readjusted .

Sounds like a great plan!
Great video. I’m coming over. You can do mine. lol
With the longer bolts and the bolt on axel side do you have clearance or did you cut bolts

Excellent! Thanks for sharing!
Now you can remove the small plastic nose air dam in the front and make it look perfect.....
Looks awesome men great job 👍🏼
Did you ever change upper control arms? How bad is the angle on the balljoint with this 2 inch level??

the factory setup is the bolt from the bottom......

Nice truck,and awesome vid
Did you end up having to get a alignment? I just purchased a 2018 z71 crew and I'm wanting to do the same lift you have. Thanks in advance.
I did not get an alignment, the truck drives straight. However, it would probably be best to get an alignment to make sure there isn't any camber that may effect your tire wear.
The 2" is fairly close, the 2.5 and 3" are way off. My 3" was pretty out of spec.

@@WOTGarage1 ya took over a year from new to do a bit here and there. Ill have to keep a eye on that s10 build 👍🇨🇦🍺

What kit is it ?
Did you do 2 inch?
Great video thank you
Thanks for the video, with a 2 inch level kit are the upper control arms necessary or what do you think.
I am running with the stock upper control arms, so they aren’t necessary. Aftermarket uppers are stronger which would be a good reason to upgrade.
@@WOTGarage1 agree stock is fine! i have a 15 gmc Z71 and im doing a 2.25" this sat..cant wait!

What are your cvs looking like
Looks nice 👍
And with the bolt upside down doesn’t the cv axle hit? The bolts need to be put in the other way
They are close, but they do not come in contact with the cv axle
Was that a 2 inch or 2.5 inch kit? I have an 18 sierra and there seems to be just over 3 inch difference between front and back on mine as well.

What brand
where do i get this lift kit ?
Ebay, They're only around $35-$40 for everything
Thanks for the video where can i found the same kit you installed?
I bought the kit from a local shop and installed it myself, but here is a link to the page for it: www.ruggedoffroad.com/product-page/2007-2017-chevy-silverado-gmc-sierra-1500-6-lug-2-0-leveling-kit
Any update on the suspension ? Do you feel any differences
The truck still rides the same as when I installed the level, I have no complaints
Did you ever need to get it realigned?
I did eventually get the truck realigned when I got new tires. The tech said the truck was in spec, but he made minor adjustments to make it perfect.
why didn’t you get a top spacer ?
I was looking into those, are those better?
My local 4x4 shop that I like to support only sold the bottom style spacers.
Does this affect ride quality
I didn’t notice a change in ride quality.
Are these any weaker than the strut level kit?
As far as I know they are not weaker. I have had them on the truck for about 10 months with about 10k - 15k miles without any issues.
what size did u order
I believe this was a 2"
