The MotoFab 2-Inch Front Leveling Kit was designed to provide a true level lift for your Chevy Silverado 1500. You can rely on the quality and innovation of these spacers that are the best on the market today. They provide an excellent lift in your truck and were made to prevent cracking over time, unlike welded spacers that tend to crack.
The manufacturer uses precision machining to ensure that the spacers will have a perfect fit in your Silverado. They are made to last with durable billet aluminum to ensure long-lasting performance value. A heavy-duty black powder-coated finish is used, matching the OEM suspension.
No strut and coil disassembly are required with this basic installation process. You can complete the installation with general hand tools and moderate mechanical knowledge in approximately 1½ - 2 hours. All the necessary mounting hardware and an instruction guide is included to facilitate the installation.
The manufacturer provides customers with a limited lifetime warranty covering craftsmanship defects. Some limitations apply. For additional details, please review all the manufacturer’s warranty information. The MotoFab 2-Inch Front Leveling Kit is designed to fit all 2007-2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 models. amtrucks.at/2RTIXml

Show us a superlift 3.5 in for 07-13 silverado? Please? Haha
AmericanTrucks Chevy & GMC I got one question after applying a 3 inch leveling kit do I gotta get bigger arm controls upper
I bought this leveling kit, the only thing I didn't like and they didn't think about making the screws that come with the kit a little longer to be able to put the clips of the cables that go over the shock absorber
Very good tool description
Thanks brother, just ordered these for my truck
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Great detailed video, only thing I didn't completely understand is what u mean by rotate strut 180 and why that needs to be done? Thanks
Thanks for all this information
Thank *YOU* for watching, Heriberto! -Zach
Nice video. Thank you. Very detailed.
Thank you for watching! -Zach
Nice job
This would also work for 2015 Tahoe? Cause if so u convinced me to do it myself by far best vid!!!
FYI if your having trouble rotating the bottom of the strut I found put 1 ear in the vise with the strut horizontal to the floor apply steady pressure and , with a heat gun warm bracket. When strut is aprox 1/2 way to floor aprox 4o to 45 degrees and stays should be the correct angle
I just ended up bolting the bottom in first and then just pushed the coil over into the bucket
Isn't it easier to just swap the struts from driver side to passenger side
If you plan on doing this lift, a coil compressor is an invaluable asset to this job. I don’t work on vehicles often enough to be fast so this took me right over 4 hours to do by myself. I’d say this is more of a 1 wrench install though. One problem I faced was my sway bar on the first side was in its original position so I had to use a pry bar to pull it down a lot, and on the other side it was too far down so I used the pry bar to pull it up.
That's why my truck is here on Jax 3 days later cuz I can't get any ball joints out
You shouldn’t need a coil compressor, it’s a whole strut assembly. Just leave both ends of the sway bar loose till you have both sides on and then attach both
Also a Good idea If you're going to go with the level kit, you should also get the aftermarket upper Arm from rough country. Its specifically designed to make up for that extra length caused by the spacer. It takes pretty much all the added stress off that upper arm ball joint.
Great call! -Zach
RC is trash
Can you list that item.
Nice vid, thanks for posting. Would you recommend these or rough country 2” level kit that gets mounted between bottom of strut and control arm? Those “C” shaped looking shims. Thanks.
Great video thanks
Thank you for watching! -Zach
Only thing ive noticed on my truck after i put this kit on is that my tires rub my upper control arms which is weird… also need to lift up the rear end with this also cuz u have like no rake and it wheel hops when turning
Will this fit all RST sub-models such as the Redline addition?
If you don’t have any underlying problems with your truck a 2 inch space will set a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 perfectly level with no issues.
I need the leveling kit for a 2013 gmc sierra 1500 single cab and a leveling kit for a 2018 gmc sierra 1500 four doors, could you tell me what part number and where to get them from the same brand as this video clip
Does this fit a suburban? 2013 model? I'm looking to go 3" when I go to order it says doesn't fit suburban
Any one have the rims hitting the upper control arm when turning all the way with 17s recently changed to 18 and haven’t felt nothing ?
Well easy to follow video guys thanks
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Will this fit Chevy Avalanche too? Thanks!
Can you fit 33's with this kit on a 2015 silverado
Also you should have showed how to rotate the strut 180
That's the MAJOR part that is missing from the video...
@@jessebrown1497
this install is not complete lot of stuff left out in this video beware DIY guys the strut is very hard to put back in to align bottom bolts support lower a frame it will drop down which it will
Wouldn't compressing the spring a bit make it easier?
@@jr-md3gx You will be doing that in the process yes, but you still have to undo bolts. The only thing you can avoid is the brakes removal and brake lines, just unclip one brake line or two....
Rotating the strut is sufficient, some people say swap the struts, but that did not really help anymore. Just rotate the strut I think it was 180' for me.
what's the benefit of using this style leveling kit compared to the blocks that go under the struts? On my 08 I used the blocks under the strut, which were way easier to install than this appears to be, but accomplished the same thing.
9:30- why couldn’t you loose install the top of the strut, then spin the strut on the truck?
Can I add this spacer lift with my existing zone level kit without adjusting my dif? The zone is the one under the shock.
Can you, yes. Should you, no. But then again, it’s still better than a rough country lift kit, if you look into them, the 6.5” kit comes with a 6.5” spacer...🤣 and a 4” block for the rear, making the total lift 4”
Only complaint I have (and it's not with the kit itself) is that when I installed this on my 2017 Sierra 1500 All Terrain, my truck came with 275/55 R20 tires, my wheel offset stock is +27 although the site says truck should have come with +25. Hard over while reversing causes the edge of the wheel and tire to rub/grind against the front of the upper control arm. My truck has the stamped steel arms opposed to the forged or aluminum. I could add a wheel spacer, but once it comes time to replace tires, I'll get new 18" wheels with a 0 offset. Oddly enough, my 17" winter tires and spare don't rub at all, just due to the offset.
i think like the guy said above u need to get the aftermarket upper control arm
My spacers don’t have studs to put in them
If I add a 2 1/2 or 3 inch lift instead of the 2 inch, will that cause me a problem with the geometry on my upper and lower control arms?
No, I put a 3” on a 16 gmc and the angles were still good, little tricky putting it on but not too bad
I have a question the previous owner install a level kit in the bottom of the shocks, I'm on going to install this product on my truck question should I remove the bottom level kit or should I leave in their to make up the 2 and a 1/2 different that I'm going to install.
I’ve installed this kit on 2 different trucks before. I recently attempted to install another one. This time I ran into a problem after I had the spacer on the strut. The sway bar end link was no where close to being able to tighten down. There was at least a 2” gap left before the bolt would reach. My question is can you pull that sway bar down far enough for the bolt to reach through?
yes
Yeah just use a pry bar that’s normal
This kit does not work on a 2011 Silverado 1500. The upper control arm ball joint does not have enough travel to reinstall. Using a 3-inch in front 2 in spacer Block in back.
Did you replace the stock rear shocks to the 1-3 inch lift shocks?
No this is to raise the front of the truck to be level with the back. He’s not lifting the truck in rear?
Does it matter If you have moog struts instead of acdelco
Won’t matter
Do I have to cut the old strut bolts if I have the 3” level
If they stick out at all yes if not then no, the space will not sit flush if the bolts are sticking out and that would be a problem
@americanteuckschevy&GMC If it were a 2 1/2 level kit would you still have to trim the studs on top of the strut assembly? I’m not a big fan of cutting but if it’s a must or if there’s a way to not have to do it
With a 2 1/2 leveling kit I did not have to cut the studs.
I’m wondering if you’d even have to cut for a 2in. They never specified if it was needed or not. They just did it.
Question. So what part needs to be turned 180° ? Is it the part that bolts to the lower or the shock itself? Thanks
You need to make sure that the upper strut mount needs to be turned 180 degrees so it lines up so your three bolts that mount in The Fray line up correctly in the bottom of your shock lines up correctly that it turns the whole shock will turn with the strut mount
Just make sure that your three bolt holes where the spacer goes lines up in the frame and you're shocked lines up on the bottom in the lower control arm so you may have to turn the shock the whole shock mount meaning the upper mount
Would be nice to mention why the strut needs to be rotated 180 degrees. Is this because the spacer studs are 180 degrees from original stud to strut relationship? Anyone?
Because 3 top bolts. Originally one is facing you and other two in back. After installing spacer two new bolts facing you and one in a back.
Kinda confused on the 180 degree rotating and why. Wish video has shown that.
Agree, but i figured it out. the angle of the strut to where it connects to the LCA will be reversed due to the spacer flipping the way the strut mounts. Put the strut in a vise, bottom down and use a pry bar to twist the bolts 180 degrees. The bottom will stay put and the bolts will rotate to line up for the upper strut mount and the bottom will now have the right angle to fit on the LCA
Do you need to get an alignment after adding these
We always recommend getting a front-end alignment after any sort of suspension modification. -Zach
I'm wondering what's better ride quality those that you installed on top of the Shock or the ones that go on bottom leveling kit ???
GERMAN ZAPATA same question.
I’ve rode in both and to me the top ones ride a lot better, now that’s my opinion. But the top ones just seem more stable
I personally think the spacer on top is a better idea. I don't like the idea of having longer bolts o the bottom of the strut, when using spacers on the bottom
I bought the bottom ones from rough country and one cracked a month later.
@@leokennedy4894 Thanks for the warning.
Hi , is it possible to install two pair on each side , like 4 in totaal , 2 on the right side and 2 on the left side or its no safe ?
No don't do that. 1) Its not safe. 2) with 4" lift you will be adding stress to the joints. The angle of the upper control are will be to much.
Yea what he said, just do a 4" suspension lift in the front , but then you'll sit about 1.5" higher than the rear
2009 Silverado 1500 4x4 the control arm does not come down enough to get the bolt through. There’s a stop that won’t let the control arm come down far enough does not fit!
Is that basically the same install for a 2018 suburban?
Yes exactly the same suspension
Help it’s backwards
Do you Have to cut the strut bolts and why
Yeah but just for a 2” kit, they will hit the coil over bucket
Would this cause any stress on the lower control arm Bushings?
No not at all, anything smaller then 3” I wouldn’t be worried
What is the difference in the level kit that goes on the top of the struts VS the kit that goes under the struts ?
Most kits that go under the struts are plastic and I have heard they can break over time. The ones up on top can’t break
Under the strut will destroy your suspension
Does this work for the 2wd z71 models?
james peyton yes
what size tire is the biggest that will fit?
33” he said in the vid
Instead of trying to turn the bottom of the strut in a vise, I just pulled out both struts at the same time and switched them, passenger and driver side. Am I going to die?
😭😭, I’m about to do this, struggling to rotate them bc everything is rusted up. Truck was from Massachusetts btw….
So with this set up, can you run 18s with say neutral offset to -24mm and 33s?
Joshua Briseno you can run 33s no problem but you might have to do some minor trimming and taking the front lower bumper piece
You can fit 33s without any lift on 1500 chevys it's not the height it's the width. You just cant do 12.50 without trimming some. I always just do 33 by 11.5 width and I've never had to trim and have no rubbing and thats with no lift at all..ive done it on 1990 model Tahoe's 2000s silverados and Tahoes and 2014 and up sierras. But with off set rims you might get away with it. Hope everything turns out good for ya.
@@trentsharp9348 i have 12.50x35r18 you think with this lift it will fit without having to trim anything?
Just got this installed 3 months ago & just noticed yesterday that I have tire rub on uca with stock tires and wheels! What's the next think i need to do to stop the rubbing?
Unless you get new wheels, a wheel spacer
Replace the upper control arms with tubular ones? Less bulky than the stock ones
Do they make just the spacer in 2.5 or is 2 inch enough for a 1500
If you use a 2.5" level kit you dont have to cut the bolts because they dont stick out.
It literally takes one minute (even using a hacksaw) to cut the bolts. Don’t go above 2 inches though. My 14 Silverado 1500 was just done and they sit exactly level how it should be 💪🏻
@@jonadkins768Heard that with a 2" spacer would still have a slight bit of rake, not enough for most people to pick up while you're going down the road, but since you know your truck better than anyone else, it'll be in the back of your mind anytime you see it. For me, that would bug me more than cutting a couple bolts
Can I put this on my 99 silverado?
Unfortunately, not. But you can check out leveling kits for your 1999 Silverado here --> www.americantrucks.com/silverado-leveling-kits-1999.html
Ive been debating on installing a 2" spacer or coil overs to level a 2015 silverado. Will spacers cause more problems to my suspension over doing Coil Overs?
Hope you did coil overs.
@@rodleypumpkins4174 😬😬😬
@@diegxtr602 how do you like the ride? Has your front end held up good? I just did a 3”x 2” on my wife’s 17 tahoe I didn’t do the coil overs either lol too much money for a car that’s gonna ride pavement most it’s life. I want to. I was worried about the suspension and ride I installed a front diff drop for flat cv angles and 2-4” lift upper control arms from rough country the stock ucas were at quite an angle.
@@rodleypumpkins4174 hey man yea it rides good i ended up adding a 2 1/2 spacer due to my truck still having a rake on that spacer size. I also have 33in tires on 20s and it rides good
@@diegxtr602 right on! Ya I was worried about it I put 33x12.50 nitto ridge grapplers on hers with black TIS 18x9 -12 offset which gave it a idk 3-4” lip looks mean for a tahoe but ya it rides great and doesn’t rub somehow. Shocks are in its future tho 3” up front makes it stiffer then I’d like. Did you end up getting an alignment? Hers pulled a little when we got it done.
What are the safety glasses used for?
For when he was gonna disconnect the negative battery cable.
Any reason someone should use the spacer on top of the strut V’s the bottom?
Oops Oops the other spacer.... lol. The 2”
Oops Oops there are 2 options to leveling the truck. This spacer at the top of the strut (shown) or the other option at the bottom. My question is: which is a better option and why?
@Oops Oops they have a spacer that goes on the bottom that the strut bolts to, its "U" shaped
I'm not sure which would be better but I'm going with the one shown in the video, if I don't like it then I'll just buy a lift for it and be done lol
@Oops Oops they come in most leveling kits so they shouldn't be too bad. As for as the "pucks" that go on top I've seen people running those for a while now. I currently have those on my 2009 4runner and they're fine so far but I want more height to the front. Both my vehicles sit really low in the front
Couldn't you remove both strut towers then swap what side they where on so you don't have to worry about rotating 180° ?
I would like to have an answer to this question as well
Good question. Makes sense.
Idt the abs lines would bolt up?
I saw in another videos comments to do it that way. I am going yo try it.
Yes but it doesn’t work as good as you would think, I tried and it didn’t change much, the best way to go about it is to bolt the bottom in first and then push it to the coil over bucket
Do I have to make alignment after leveling?
Yes
Any time you modify the suspension on your truck, you absolutely want to get an alignment. -Zach
I know a guy that used a lift for his chevy that had 3 inch front spacers and 2 inch rear lift blocks? Is that not going to ruin his front end he insisted that it was a level kit? 3 inch front spacers seem like to much?
Do you need to cut the studs?
I’m wondering the same thing. I might not cut mine and just find out, unless I get an answer.
To get it in you can also detach the ball joint and the sway bar then stretch it in no big deal
It don’t look level after the installed why they called a leveling kit
Looks better than the shitty factory rake but yea the back will still sit like 1/2" higher. That would definitely bother me with my OCD
How is the ride? Does it mess with any joints or angles underneath. I have a 2017 Silverado LT that I’d like to do this to. Thanks 🙏🏼
It does cause a pretty terrible angle for the upper arm. Puts a ton of stress on that ball joint. Look into an aftermarket Upper A arm.
It's only a 2" not the 3" so the angles aren't as bad.
If you do it can you tell me how it rides.. Have the same truck and would also like to do it...
So if I add a 3" lift, do you recommend I make any modifications, since the subject was brought up about putting a stress on the upper A arm?
Ruben Espinosa yah buy the upper control arms
What are all the torque specs?
Like 3 or 4 ugga-dugga's

Lol 😂
@@rafaelc4488 💙😂😂😂😂
For the 2" lift how thick is the spacer actually?
Phit Ness 1inch 3/4
Don't do it!!! I added leveling spacers to my new 2017 GMC Sierra and it nearly destroyed my front end. The spacers change the geometry and add serious stress to multiple parts of your suspension. Ended up with nearly $1600 worth of repairs before I removed the spacers. All of this damage before I had 11,000 miles on my truck--nearly all highway and city driving. Very light off-roading. Had to replace two CV axles, control arm and control arm bushings, etc. And, of course, this happened at different times when I was traveling. Left me stranded for a few days. Add in hotel costs. Bottom line, don't take the cheap route. Forget spacers. Spend the extra $ and lift your suspension the right way.
My 08 Silverado (same front suspension) had 153k on it when I traded it in. I put leveling blocks under the strut at around 70k and never had a single problem with the front end.
@@BudgetRC_Channel hey man. I’m thinking about doing a leveling kit on my 07. I’d like to ask if you have had any problems at all with the front end, I really want to do it but everyone has different opinions on it. Have you had any problems or damaged anything at all?
@@john_mattz71 like I said above, I had no problems with the front end. All I ever changed since adding the leveling blocks was one wheel bearing
Something must have been missed on your install to cause that much problems, I have had several trucks and added the leveling kits without issue. My friends have gone up to 10" and still nothing close to what you experienced. Maybe you had a defective suspension to begin with and you are attributing it to the spacers. Just a thought not trying to contradict you
You should have done Ucas and a possible diff drop and you would have been fine.
A mechanic lifted our 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 4x4. Recently while making turns the front wheels are 'skipping' on the roadway, what is causing this. Took it to a mechanic, they see nothing wrong.
Thank-you for the thumbs up. Can you answer my question? We are so upset spending so much to a pro for the lift that is causing this skipping on turns.
What do you mean by skipping? Is it literally jumping up and down or does it feel like there is resistance and then it gives and then more resistance in perfect increments? More than likely either you’re tires are rubbing and hitting the wheel well/ fender or the control arm/ suspension compression system is off somewhere causing it to behave erratically
@@YoungMantv it only happens making a sharp, slow turn, like when turning into a parking spot. Hope this helps, I forgot to clarify.
Tourqes lugs but not another single nut or boot in the entire front end 🤦🏼♂️
Is doing 3” pushing it too far?
I've been doing a lot of homework on this and the general consensus is that extra 1" comes at a cost in terms of wear and tear. I think I might go with the 2.5" because I still see a tiny bit of rake in this.
3 inch you should replace upper arms.. 2.5 or less you should be fine
If I was going to take the whole strut off I'd rather spend some more and get adjustable struts that will level or lift.
Your talking about around 50$ vs 1000$ adjustable coil overs 😂🤦♂️
My 2007 Silverado classic 4.8 L strut looks nothing like that. No no
What about re-aiming your headlights?

Why..? I just ordered one
@@user-bq6he6ch6vhave you got it installed yet? Wanting to order one too
RIP to your cv angles and ball joints. Save the money and get a lift kit. Not worth getting a leveling kit.
2" spacers likely won't put much added stress on the ball joints. Anything more than that, probably need to swap out the upper arms. At that point it's not much more expensive to just get a 3" lift kit
Agree. Even at 2.5 inch if your not hardcore offroading like most ppl it won't hurt a thing.
U pulled unnecessary stuff
What could’ve been done to make it easier or simpler?
Do not purchase if you can’t rotate the strut.
Or just have a professional install them
I was wondering about that . So it's the strut that needs rotating not the anchor that mounts to the lower
Demetrius Freeman there’s vids on here that show how to, but i was just making a point on how they skipped this step. The plate has to be turned 180 degrees. Good luck with this
@@TheHennessy602 . It turned out really well. What a b Itch it was. I did both front and back.
Or swap sides when installing it back on truck pass to driver
