I think there needs 2 b a little more detail with regard to the transfer case bolts that need 2 b replaced with longer ones. How long are the current ones? How long should the replacements be? What grade of bolts (there are great differences in types)? We have a 2011 Silverado LT with Z71. You should provide a chart or even the bolts based on known factors and allow customers to order based on their OEM options installed.
Billy McCubbin I recently took it out, I’m getting a 6” lift kit, the ride ain’t bad, but my truck is 4x4 and the angles for my ball joints and cv joints are horrible, that’s why I only had it in for a short period of time before I lift it.
I had the same 3” front 2” rear motofab lift that came with there UCA’s I also paired it with the diff drop kit from supreme suspensions in this video and a rear shock extenders just to be safe. I have 12,000 miles on this kit so far and it rides great. No issues and my front end geometry is excellent and aligned perfectly when I had the truck aligned after the lift was installed.
Rear sits 3" higher than the front from the factory. If you lift the front 3" and the rear 2", I'd imagine the rear would still sit 2" higher than the front. So the truck would be slightly lifted but would still have a raked stance.
Looking to buy this lift… wondering if the front upper control arms will work with it? I know the angles will be off but will it be necessary to get control arms as well
@@patricmason9091 the first commentator to this thread is correct, I'm going through it now. It destroyed my UCA on the driver's side, didn't know that until taking it apart for a full strut and shock replacement because I thought the strut had collapsed... Not the case, it sheared off the top casing of the UCA allowing way too much movement and it's scary... so waiting on a set of MotoFab Upper Control Arms for 2.50 to 3-Inch Lift to get here and install those. So if you haven't gotten this leveling kit yet, definitely budget in new UCA's to accommodate the very drastic angles your truck will be dealing with.
@@user-vd9cw6df9p what is the UCA? I just installed a 3 inch lift on my 2010 sierra (2 inch spacer on top the strut) will I need these other control arms?
I plan on doing the exact same lift but I didn't know there was a differential drop what was the spacers you used and the bolts you used to do that drop and what is the purpose of doing that part of the lift
NICE VIDEO !! ..Also I have a question. has any one had any problems with their power steering light coming on after lifting and if so what's the fix if any thank!!!!
I put 3" spacer on my 2012 gmc it didn't come with diff. Or bottom spacer and when I turn my steering to lock my truck dips down a inch or 2. Any suggestions plz
It was sitting much more level after the install, but the truck still did have a little bit of forward rake to it. Though this one also has that large brush guard hanging, which adds quite a bit of weight way out in front. So if your truck doesn't have that extra weight out front, it will likely sit a bit more level than what you're seeing here. -Jake
With enough money you can turn a two-wheel drive setup into a four-wheel drive, but for the same amount of time and money you may be better off just buying a new four-wheel drive truck. 4WD trucks have different front suspension, have a different front axle, a transfer case, front driveshaft, some sort of shifter to engage the 4WD system, and probably more things that I missed. Hope this helps! -Zach
Not worth transferring it over! adding a transfer case you will need a custom rear drive shaft and a complete new front end set up its will cost more than the truck is worth! Its a nightmare i have seen it done! prepare for a 12-15k dollar set up if you are going with new parts and that is minimum! lots of fabrication as well! good luck!
he says tie rod when he's working on the sway bar links lol.and i bought the same kit and it says to use original bolts to reinstall the struts not put the Allen bolts threw the top lol.and you should buy new upper control arms for a 2 to 3 1/2 inch lift because your original one are bottom out .they must for get to tell you all that he didn't use the washers or lock washers on the top of the strut. and i have a z71 and didn't need longer bolts the one's they sent i actually had to put two washers on the bolt for the top and two on the bottom of the diff because they were not threaded enough in my opinion this lift if junk i would buy it again .and the rear blocks i had to grind the stud down a little bit also because it was hitting the axle on both sides or it wouldn't lay flat
Yea he has no idea what he is doing. The other video on the same shows the Allen bolts go through the spacer and you use the original nuts on the Allen bolts. Not running the bolt through the bracket into the spacer. If he can do it anyone can
3.5" in the front and 3 inches in the rear will definitely help level out your truck. But the 3 inches in the rear will keep a *littleeeeee bit* of the factory rake. If you want NO RAKE AT ALL, you should look into a 3.5 front and 1 or 2 inch rear lift instead. -Zach
Not sure if its just a problem im having or what. but something that wasn't mentioned was the bracket on the bottom of the strut where the bolts go through, its at a slight angle ( im assuming to compensate for the strut just normally sitting at a slight angle. But when I put the spacer on I had to turn the strut around to get the new bolt holes to line up. But now that bottom part is at and angle with the top of the angle pointing towards me. So the holes aren't lining up for the bolts to go through all of it. And I don't want to hammer a bolt through and mess up the threads. Is this a common thing or is it just me not doing it in the right order making things not line up right?
@@gotmurica6225 I figured it out shortly after I commented this. Try mounting the bottom of the strut on first. Get those two bolts in and get the nuts on hand tight. Then you'll have to push the top of the strut into its bracket It goes in. Make sure the lower control arm is loose so you can push the whole strut up and down when trying to get the top part in. That's what I did and it helped me. Hopefully that works for you
No, the max amount of stretch those shocks can take is 1 inch. Just get the ready lift, shock extenders. They support up to 2-4 inches of lift for the rear shock. They are only $50 off of amazon or something like that.
Why would you even put this on a truck the suspension angles will be extreme and will be replacing ball joints every year.. spend the extra 500 bucks and get a real lift

I’m running just a 2” level in the front and clear 34s no problem no rub…. It’s all based on your rim offset
Would 3 inch in the front and 2 inch in the back be leveled? No rake? With a 2 inch rear do I really need shims and a diff drop?

Why didn't you have too trim anything for the dif drop on that one? I've seen others have too trim crossmemeber and cooling fins.

The allen bolts for your spacer are supposed to go in through the bottom to where you use the factory nut on top. There not working on my truck
No they dont. Not according to the instructions
What are the spacers for? And is it needed?
Probably just me, but doesn't Joe's finger tips look like they are in a perpetual state of pain?
Great video too
What was the stock height of this truck before and is this truck level after the kit was installed
That tie rod is called a sway bar!
If i have a 2007 chevy silverado 2wd i dont need the diff drop right? And do i need any spacers to run stock wheels?
Lol there is no diff to drop 🤷🏻♂️
No the diff drop is only for 4wd vehicles to drop your front diff down

Is there 2 ways to install those 8mm allen fasteners ive seen it get fastened from the bottom of the spacer
Can you swap sides on the struts? Left to right and right to left?
Yes
For the Z71 rear shocks will be okay with the 3 inch block in the back? In the video it had no problem
Is this for a 4WD assembly?
So when the kit was installed, was the truck level with the rear or was it still leaning down in the front a little bit?

Why do some kits only have two spacers for the front differential drop and not four?
Is it true as the website states that this kit fits on the AWD Denali models 08-13?
I have a 08 denali awd and am having a terribly hard time finding a kit specifically for that
I have this. With 22x12 -44 on 33s 😎
The kit you have linked does not appear to have a diff drop included in the picture or anywhere in the description.
That's what I'm trying to figure out as well
Supreme sells them seperately. they have some great spacers for 2-4" lifts.
The one I bought did have them either. Are they a must or can I go without?
Is the diff drop kit necessary? Can in install at a later date.
Anything over 3 inches of lift will need a diff drop. Would not recommend leaving it for a later date.
