    In this video I install a diff drop kit from Supreme Suspension. The kit includes spacers and hardware to lower the front differential 1/2”.
    Overall I am a bit disappointed in the kit. The hardware was useless as it was way too short. The spacers seem to be OK. I purchased this kit for $30 on Amazon. There was no cross member cutting whatsoever.
    Here’s a link to the kit. This job can be done by one person you just need to get creative with bolt removal.

    Hey man, great video. Just wanted to share the reason why the bolts that come in with the kit are so short. They designed it to put the spacers between the diff mounts and the diff. That's why it only comes with two nuts, the driver side bolts into the diff mount. Instead of the bolt going all the way through with a nut. The way you did it makes more sense than supreme suspensions design. It's so much harder to get the spacers installed between the mount and the diff than the your install.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  4 года назад

      Dustin Hendrickson I’m not sure I’m following your description. None of the bolts on my 2014 threaded into any of the mount. They passed all the way through and all required a nut. Are you sure we are talking the same year trucks?

    • @dustinhendrickson9551

      @@WaterFowler41 well more accurately I can't say for sure on your truck. But my 2015 silverado, the driver side of the diff just had two bolts threading into the diff mount bracket. The diff mount bracket had 2 bolts and nuts mounting the bracket to the frame. At least on my truck. I put my spacers between the diff and the diff bracket. I should have done it the way you did. Supremes bolts were just barely long enough for mine, I got longer bolts for mine anyway. It's just the driver side though. The passenger side all 4 of the bolts for diff and bracket go through with nuts on the end.

      Dustin Hendrickson ahhh makes sense, I wonder why GM changed it, is your silverado a Canadian truck? My Sierra is, temp gauges are in Celsius. I wonder if that makes the difference.

      @@WaterFowler41 no my truck was actually made 40 minutes from my house in fort wayne, indiana. That could make a difference. I had a 2001 Sierra that was built in Canada and every part I had to buy I had to make sure it was for the Canadian built trucks.

    I have a 3” lift and for a long time I didn’t have a diff drop and didn’t really have any issues. I just got done installing a home made diff drop but I would not have even attempted it if it wasn’t for your video. Took me a while just to figure out how I would even do it, and it was not fun. I used 7/16”-14 x 4.25” long grade 8 bolts, washers, and nylocks with homemade 1/2” thick machined steel spacers. I appreciated the dimensions btw! I haven’t driven it yet, but personally, it was such a pain, and the visual difference in the CV angles is not visible to me (I took before and after pics) that I don’t believe it was worth the effort. I hope I’m proven wrong after I drive it, but just a fair warning to anyone who wants to try it themselves

    Thanks for the video . After watching several times I decided to lower my diff after installing a supreme 3” kit in my 2015 Sierra. Truck feels so much better now that it is level. Now I’m ready for the slightly bigger tires to be mounted (255/75r17). I agree with you about the kit. It should come with the correct bolts...cost me another 20.00 bucks in hardware.

    Your putting the spacer on the "perch bolts". Supreme suspension says install on the actual diff mounts bolts. That's why it took you 2 and 1/2 hours.

    The reason you had hardware issues is because you installed the spacers in the wrong spot. They go in between the diff and the diff brackets in which you installed your spacers on. One side the bolts go all the way through and uses the 2 nuts on top, and the other side the bolts thread into the diff bracket itself
