Fitting 33" Tires on a 2wd Silverado! 2014-2018

- The Big Question is can you fit 33" tires on a 2014-2018 two wheel drive Silverado 1500 with only a 2" leveling kit in the front. So in this video we mount up a set of 33" Nitto Ridgegrapplers to some +1 offset 18" Fuel Throttle Wheels so see if they clear the wheel wells. We also take a look at road noise and fuel mileage with the bigger, heavier more aggressive tire tread. There's a lot more at play when you go to a bigger tire than just fitment.

I’m thinking about putting 33 in tires on my truck and this video helped me make up my mind! I will be getting the stock tires off and new 33 in put on!
Very helpful, thank you. Nice rig.
Thank you for this info. I learned a lot!
Such good information sounds like a great plan for my 2015 Duramax
I have this same year 4x4 and am putting on Toyo 33x12.5x18
This tells me exactly what I need to know about the 2.5” level kit I bought , the after mpg and the clearances
Thank you very much for posting this
Glad to help.
@@MOTOPILOT6 have you had any rubbing issues?
@@Geargrinderc15 some light rubbing when turned full stop in reverse. Like a parking lot
Thanks. This was exactly what I was looking for.
It helped a lot, thanks my guy👍🏼
Good helpful content man love the truck
It’s helpful.. much appreciated !!
Looks gooder. You have a good eye for design though. Your truck is the right color too.
The circumference of the new tire is considerably larger, therefore it will affect your odometer and gas mileage indicated.
The Diablo tuner adjusts for that
Great video! Thx bro.
Nice truck!!
Great info 👍
Very helpful thank you
Very helpful thanks ❤
I want this exact build, I went to my local shop and asked for the exact same thing. This helps a ton!
I’m looking at the same setup and it’ll run me about 3,600! Is that too much?
@@jessiem.6712 that seems high. The level kit was only around $60 but I installed it. Where’s n tires I think were around $2500
dang I am paying 2100 just for tires you got a good deal to get wheels and tires for 2500@@MOTOPILOT6
Awsome video truck looks awsome
Thanks bud. I like it too
Awesome so my 2 1/2 inch leveling kit and a -12 offset should fit perfect !
You may have figured it out by now, but clearing standing still doesn’t mean it will when moving. Mine cleared just static turning but would rub at extreme turns with slight articulation. Like backing out of slanted driveway. Until I lifted it 3”.
But it’s funny. My wheels are exactly this size and I wanted go see what a 33x12.5 would look like and fit. Yours is exactly what I was looking for.
Do you still rub or did you trim some as well ?
@@okydokygaming4066 no once lifted it didn’t rub anymore.
Love the video, any idea if you can put 33's on the stock R17?
Looks better than a new truck, sir
Answered a lot of my questions. Thanks Bro...🤙🏽
Wow great video, I have a 2 inch lift on my truck so what are yalls thoughts about 33x12.50 with 22s a little bigger rim then my liking but gonna get a great deal. Thanks they will be on a 2022 sierra 1500 new body.
dude that was super helpful... do you think it would make a difference on a 4x4? thanks!
Awesome info, that looks like lake Mathews
By the way quick question so your rims were ordered 17”/12.5/+1 offset
I got the same tires (highly recommend) but on 20" rims (should have done 18s). Dig the way your truck looks👌.
Does your truck rub with the 20” rims or why would you rather have went with 18s?
@@mbt2x266 no rubbing. I do have a 2" levelling kit so I don't know if that helps prevent rubbing. The tire to rim ratio looks off with 20" rims and 31.5" tires. Next time I'm going 18" rims and 33s.
Yeah, Im like more tire sidewall. I think a truck looks more off-road with 18" wheels
How wide are the wheels themselves? Was thinking about getting some 18x9s hoping they wouldn't rub
I was skeptical going for 17” size wheels on 33’s. I also have a 2” leveling kit,
But knowing that the 18”s fit perfectly then I should be good.
Thanks for the video 👍🏽
Yeah exact situation for me I just don’t want to stuck out of nowhere with tires that are way too big but I’m 100% sending it after this. Howd it go for you?
I have a 07.5 Sierra and I’m throwing a 2.5 inch level with 33x12.50 r17 Mickey Thompsons.
Love it got a Silverado 16 2 wheel this is what I was looking for truck looks like we truck not a matchbox lol
Congrats. Great truck. Glad I could help.
I have those same wheels. 18X10 W/ -24mm offset on 33’s.
2” level kit on a 2004 z71 Silverado 4x4.
Also Put a ceramic coating on them if you want the finish to last.
When I had stock wheels on my 2018 5.3 I would get high 19s I got 33s and brought my mpgs down to 14 lol I got rid of em
What size rims do you have on that truck and also can you show more pictures of the outside. I have a 2021 Chevy Silverado custom I’m looking to do a 3 1/2 inch lift with same size stock rims but just a different style and then adding one size up all-terrain 33‘s. I just need to know what size rims you have on that truck I like it it looks really good 👍please share more pictures and rim size
Rims are 18”. Video will tell you width and offset. I don’t recall
Are 33s not going to fit the 2022 silverado without the leveling kit?
I see you are in the Corona/Riverside area. Who did the work for you? I live in Corona.
trying to go with 275/65/18 on my 2020 Silverado the rims are +0mm do you think I will run into any problems? Great looking truck man!
very hard to say since im not familiar with 2020 clearances. RUclips might have the answer somewhere
Hi, I was wondering the exact specs of your tires. Nice video and truck! I have the same one.
33” x 18”.
When i went with bigger wider tires i got better fuel mileage in the highway but less mileage in the stop and go area..
I have the same truck and my grill is chrome as well. I was considering painting it but they told me it would chip really easily. Would you recommend painting or not??
So far so good with mine. As long as they sand it first the paint should stick
Hey I’m a new 2021 Silverado owner and I like those tires. Where did you find them?
I bought them from a local offbeat tire house and they had to order them in. But yuo can find them everywhere online
It was your driving style. That's what made the difference.
How the rubbing on uneven off roads?
What size is that rim bro? 18x9? Or 18x10? Thanks looks great !
10" wide and thanks
Bad ass
are these 33x12.5x18 or 285x65x18
I have a 2018 Chevy Silverado custom . I have 20 inch rims on 33s tires.. what size kit should I get for the front and what size lift for the back ? I was thinking 2.5 or 2 front and 1 inch back . Can someone help also should I get wheel spacers too? And how big 2 inch ?
Can you fit 33s on stock rims? Mine are 9x20 16 gmc
What size rims are those?
You stay in riverside? Nice truck..
Yeah noticed that too crossing over the dam ..
How wide are the rims? 9”?
So you’ve got 18x9 +1 offset rims with 32.5x10.5 tires?
I actually don't recall
Hey bro where did you get the bumpers and grill painted??
Used a local bumper repair guy. I don’t recommend it since the bumper is now very chipped and done on the grill. My plan is to have at least the front bumper powder coated. Rear bumper looks fine. The painter was pretty crappy so I won’t recommend them.
Have you got any issues since the tune with the truck?
None. All good
You need to program the new tire size for the DIC to be even remotely accurate.
Best mpg is best all time, not best within the 50/25. The best within number is that top number
hello I am French and I speak English very poorly I just bought a silverado 2016 4x4 z71 crew cabin equip in 22 inch wheel oem I will want to put a kit 3 inch in front and 2 inch behind what size of rim do you advise me and what size tire ?? I would like to put all ground 50/50 half road half ground thank you for your advice 👍🏻
I would go with the tires and wheels featured in this video
@@MOTOPILOT6
Ok
That looks like Riverside, Ca.
Also great video!
Have you had any issues with the wheels being dual drilled? Great video man!
That just means they're universal
Not a tall and thanks
Ive gotta 2018 silverado.....I know nothing about rims and tires sizes but want to do this. Will spend 2k on it. Someone point me in the right direction plz
Buy from any local dealer or try customoffsets.com
2500 for just wheels or leveling kit also?
For tires and wheels, which is a going rate. Level kit was only around $65 plus alignment for around $90
Are they 20s or 18s? thanks bro
18
What is the width of the rims? 18x9 or 18x10?
They are 10"
@@MOTOPILOT6 Hey, are you sure they are 18x10, not trying to double mind you or anything, but I was looking at these wheel on fuel throttle website and only the 18x9 come with a 1 offset. I am looking into them and your video is awesome, but the spec info isn't matching up. Ty in advance if you are able to get back to me.
Anyone out there trying to just get a leveling kit without using spacers to fit 33”s, it is possible. I just bought a set of adjustable shocks by Eibach and used all my stock components
sounds awesome
I just added Eibach to my 14 Sierra Z-71. Which wheels and tires did you go with? Any rubbing issues? I still have my stock 18” wheels with 265/65R18 tires. Thinking about some 20x9 wheels. Any pictures?
@@michaeldunaway9015 I’m running 20x9 with 0 offset on 33’s no rubbing or trimming. Look at my profile picture
Might be a dumb question, but why put all of this on a 2WD truck?
Stock tires and wheels are small and weak. Plus now I get more traction pulling the boat out of the water.
Can I fit 33’s without a lift/level kit?
It’s a gamble
you can even fit them without the leveling kit .
But why would you? Lol
it would run i think, but leaved it looks cleaner in my opinion
9 or 10 inch wide wheel?
10"
Those tires look really skinny for being 12.5 wide lol
Peace 🖐
What level kit did you use?
dont recall the brand but its the type where its just a round spacer at the top of the coilovers
Did you do gears
no just the diablo that makes shifting adjustments based on tire size
@@MOTOPILOT6 Does it also help with the MPG? And which Diablo tuner did you get to be exact
No rub at full turn?
He showed that there wasn't any. I pretty much read that to run a 33 you need to do the 2 inch leveling kit minimum.
not while going forward. In reverse at full turn theres a very very slight rub
$2500 SHIT I COULD DO IT FOR 2400
2 wheel drive?? WHY?? 💩💩💩
Do you need your 4wd.. he explained why.
