I did the same with the dragon on dragons breath tower, literally spent 3 in game days fighting that thing because my party was under leveled and Sigurd fell off the tower

When this shit kicks on as Drakes start spamming Meteoron and High Lavin I transcend to a higher plane of existence.
Not gonna lie, as much as I love End of the Struggle for how classic it is, that one obviously sounds like a "DD1 soundtrack" and almost feels out of place in this OST in a way. I feel this version is much more fitting with the general direction of DD2's OST, for better or worse.
Thanks again for your uploads! Definitely one of those blood-pumping songs I adore.
I wonder which one people would prefer if they came out at the same time. I find myself humming this one and the griffin theme every time I hear them, not so much their counterpart in DD1 though.
IMO it was for the better, because as much as I love "End of the Struggle," "Eternal Return," and "Into Free," they feel decidedly dated after over a decade since their release.
This, while not as _iconic,_ is actually my favorite piece of them all. It sounds like something from LOTR as you slam a Greatsword down the neck of one of the big bosses of the game.
I agree! I did appreciate hearing End of the Struggle in DD2 when it finally played during a random boss, but it felt SO out of place among the rest of DD2's soundtrack. To me, Reversal of Fate IS DD2's End of the Struggle

I'm glad folks enjoy it, but my complaint is it lacks... that unique, bombastic flavor. For me, this sounds something like Monster Hunter's OST would include.

It is a subjective point of view, yes, but it seems like people had these expectations that DD2 would outclass the classics of "Into Free," "Eternal Return," or "End of the Struggle" (Although they _did_ remaster that last piece, and I'm glad they did, it lacks some of the power its predecessor had)
I'm just glad they decided to try something new, without leaning too heavily into the past. It's a relief because many things in DD2 feel incomplete and rushed to me, but the OST is not one of them. They had the Cajones to try something different with this OST--to try to be unique with its implementations, even if it fell flat in some cases.
Which, in my honest opinion, they did _not._ It seems to me like this OST was a success despite the criticisms.

@@kingjules8744 Quite honestly, something I disliked about DD1 is how the soundtrack was a bit too much DMC-ish, in that the gameplay itself was medieval fantasy incarnate yet the music was too rocky. And I'm not saying DD1 soundtrack was bad in any way: It was absolutely perfect, just out of place if the game wanted to archieve a true immersion. The reason why I believe the Dark Arisen little song is way better for a title screen than Into Free
In that sense, I do believe DD2 is also a success and an upgrade from the previous one, as it fits the game itself much more
Also idk what the people saying "the ost is forgettable" was hearing. Like dude, you never fought a Griffin, or a Dullahan, or fuck, even fought regular monsters with low health?

With how exciting this song is compared to DD2s End of the Struggle and how it pairs up perfectly with the Level Up message makes me think they didnt want to put the original End of the Struggle in the game at all and this was going to be the only "weakened boss" song.
Can you please upload the battle theme against the "Final boss" the red dragon and the soundtrack from the dragon trial bosses in the real world, ive been looking all over for them
