Hot take but I feel like there's still need for an R5C Mk2 in the lineup, would love to see a video focused version of this to rival the FX3 with some features like shutter angle, timecode, 32-bit float audio and the cinema OS.
nope
@@johnny_blz No revolution. It's true...
I was going to ask the same. I was going to buy an R5C, but when I saw R5 Mark II came out. That tell me that R5C Mark II would also be in development.
@@MyUrbanExplorationOnline why in the world would they make that if it is was a r5 with a fan. and now u can buy an r5ii with aa fan...
Agreed. 32 bit would be game changing and shutter angle would be very welcomed
Very detailed! thanks for taking the time to give us so much information and direction!
I am canon r5 owner and happy for the r5 mark 2 and r1.
Love the updates.
Everyone one else just seems soooooo picky!! Nothing makes them happy. I’ve been so happy with my R6, R3, R5C
Appreciation for the extremely detailed information, Paul!
Great delivery Paul
does it record audio in 120FPS and 240FPS or not? he mentioned it did and then the video sais it doesn’t
FINALLY high frame rates are no longer separated into a second menu entry (requiring even more button presses to switch on the fly) and we get audio as well. Is there a reason we can’t play it back slowmo in-camera unless recording in that “high frame rate” mode though?
Can you do 4k 120p in compressed interframe? (like IPB style)?
In slo motion , does the AF tracking work?
Does the r5 have an option to lock the IBIS or will we see wobble on some videos still.
ibis wobble is still present at wide focal lengths unfortunately, I got mine on release day and it's still there from the original R5
Lots of these features I have already on my R6 Mark 2
Thanks. Can you tell us specifically how the R52 can record oversampled 4k at 60p and 120p? I'm getting conflicting info if it is possible. What framerates are available in FINE?
Where are you getting conflicting info?
@@CanonUSA every source says oversampled 4K only goes to 30p. If you go to 4K60p, it is line-skipped. Is this true or not?
You can find the entire spec sheet at canon.us/R5MIISpecs
The info you're looking for starts on page 10.
@@CanonUSAyou could answer him shortly "no R5 mark II does not do 4k 60p oversampled it is line skipped."
because it would make camera worse in that mode from R1 and even from r6 mark ii or even from r8 😂
@@bobdrummondfilms54024k 60p is line skipped same as 4k sraw
Homie’s got crab hands going on 🦀
😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣 I cant unsee it! 😭😭
What’s the record limits in 6k 60p raw and 120k raw ? Will it record audio in 6k 60p raw ?
I cannot believe there is no 4K 60fps in Fine mode.
Of all the things I thought would be a simple layup for Canon to include… it wasn’t a long shot wish like built-in ND’s. All my excitement completely vanished. Please make an R5C Mk II
You can't have ND and mechanical shutter
Are you going to give us Shutter Angle on the R5 Mark II in video mode. This would help making it a true video hybrid
With the original R5, you could save a certain video setting on the C3 custom mode. This video mode would be used when you press video in the photo mode. Really useful for Hybrid shooting. Is this still possible with te R5 II?
Did the Custom White Balance on video mode improve? Or I still need to go tho photo mode, take a picture, go back to video mode and use the photo as a reference?
On the R1 is 4k 120 pixel binned?
Thanks for this video. Will the Canon R5II work with the RF 5.2 lens from the beginning?
Hello Marco
The RF5.2mm Dual-fisheye will mount to the new cameras. You may want to check with our camera support team to see if any lens firmware updates will be needed, once the cameras start shipping and full technical documentation is available. You can reach the support team at 1-800-652-2666 Monday- Saturday; excluding holidays. Outside the USA, visit our Global website at Canon.us/globalsupport.
Oh boy, they explain how the log footage looks and why we need a preview lut - while marketing their top-pro level cameras. Are there still professionals anywhere?
can you shoot 4K 120p in cropped mode? tell me it doesn't do HD only in cropped
What is base ISO for video? 800 only? or there is a 3200 as well?
What are the differences is the sensor in the r1 vs the r5 ii? What are the differences in filters over the sensor of the r1 vs the r5 ii ?
Hello,
The EOS R5 Mark II has a higher resolution sensor at 45 megapixels compared to the 24.2 megapixels of the EOS R1. Our camera support agents can discuss the sensors in more detail. Reach out to them at ) 1-800-652-2666 Monday- Saturday; excluding holidays. Outside the USA, visit our Global website at Canon.us/globalsupport.
Thank you!! Is it possible to record 4K120 fps in crop mode? Current R5 could not.
Hello,
The available frame rates for cropped movie shooting are listed in the camera specifications (pages 11-12) here: canon.us/R5MIISpecs If you have additional questions, our camera team can help. Contact them at ) 1-800-652-2666 Monday- Friday; excluding holidays. Outside the USA, visit our Global website at Canon.us/globalsupport. Hope this helps.
Canon never shared the clipping point of clog2...
Why HGR-HLG is limited to 4K 30p?
Question..? will the view finder mist up as the R3 does....? and how long will the eyepiece last....
the camera isn't out yet 😒
CANON is KING! Always has been! 💪💪💪
Does the R5 mark ii have shutter angle?
Hello,
Setting shutter angle is not an option on the R5 Mark II. You can set the shutter speed. The option of shutter angle is usually found on our Cinema line cameras, like the R5 C, C70 , C500 Mark II and others. Our Cinema support team can answer questions on shutter angle and which cameras off this feature. You can contact them at 1-855-246-3367, 7 days a week, excluding holidays. Outside of the USA, you can find support at Canon.us/globalsupport. We hope this information helps.
Hi, I have a need for "clear scan" shutter mode. is this part of the R1 or R5 please? thank you
Hello,
The specifications do not list a separate Clear Scan feature. You can check with our camera support team for more details on the camera operation. Reach out to them at 1-800-652-2666 Monday- Saturday; excluding holidays. Outside the USA, visit our Global website at Canon.us/globalsupport..
Can we still add custom picture styles
{{screenName}} you sure can!
will any of the additional features like waveform, false colour, proxies and unlimited recording be available for the R5 via Firmware Update? Pretty much all things that should have been implemented to the original R5 from the beginning on...
They didn't put waveform to r1 but you expect they put in into r5 seriously?
@@MarcinKranc i don’t expect anything.
@@ManuelGussmann so ask ;)
I looked online and couldn't find the answer. Does the new R5MkII have Fv mode? For me it's better than Manual mode and it's the only mode I shoot in.
Yes, the EOS R5 Mark ll does have an FV mode.
@@CanonUSA Thank you! 😃
Does the video menu allow crop marks for 2.35.1 etc. to preview a different aspect ratio? Is the touchscreen still active while an HDMI monitor is attached?
Hi David,
The available aspect rations are 1:1, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 4:3. In Video Mode, the touch screen is enabled. If you have other questions, reach out to our Cinema team at 1-855-246-3367, 7 days a week, excluding holidays.
@@CanonUSA I’m not asking about the aspect ratios you can shoot in the camera. I’m wondering if you can overlay crop marks on the LCD in a cinemascope ratio like 2.35.1 (wider than 16x9). I just tried calling that number but it’s just for Cinema EOS cameras. Would they know about the R5 II?
Hello David,
The following aspect ratio markers are available to be displayed: Off / 1:1 / 4:5 / 5:4 / 9:16 / 4:3 / 13:9 / 14:9 / 1.375:1 / 1.66:1 / 1.75:1 / 1.85:1 / 1.90:1 / 2.35:1 / 2.39:1
@@CanonUSA that’s great news!!
What's the usable Dynamic Range in clog 2? In the R5 mark I it was 10.8
Hi Presise,
You can capture up to 16 stops in C-log 2 as noted in the video at 1:53. If you have other questions, our friendly camera support team can help. You can call them at 1-800-652-2666 Monday- Saturday; excluding holidays. Outside the USA, visit our Global website at Canon.us/globalsupport.
@@CanonUSA Will a 4k60p downsampled come in a firmware update?
So cool! First!
Confused as to why the R1 doesn't have waveform monitoring like the R5 II when it's apparently the flagship camera.
Yeah that is so odd
I’m sitting here thinking the same lol
Tell me where the big upgrade is if the R3 had c-log 2?
How does the R5C differ from the new R5 mark 2 if the R5C had c-log 2 ? if they are so different why not give us the c-log 2 in those cameras with updates?
It seems like the r5 mark 2 has more DR than the r5C so it can allow for c-log 2. I’ve been waiting for c-log 2 in the R5C for a while now but I think it won’t happen.
hmmm how is that... It can do it if you film in RAW and then in post change to c.log 2 :P ?
I think the DR is there for sure..
@@baekmedier right, I should have mentioned in the modes MP4 or xf-avc
@@baekmedieractually no raw data is just a container, and most cameras store in that container what they ate capable to capture in terms of dynamic range two canon cameras r3 and r5c have more dynamic range in oversampled codec than natively in raw life.
If your car can go max 210km/h it won't go faster just because you painted two bars across it and put on tires that can go 310km/h .
In short there is no point of 16bit raw and clog2 in a device that doesnt saturate 10bit clog3 dynamic range coantainer in data
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
CLOG2 ONLY IN RAW???
Hi Simone!
Canon LOG 2 can be selected in non-RAW modes XF-HEVCs and XF-AVCs. Our Cinema team can help with any other questions. Reach out to them at 1-855-246-3367, 7 days a week, excluding holidays.
i can see noise in your video
1080 480fps and 720 960fps even if limited to something like 30 seconds per clip would have been a killer feature.
I don't get it.
8k60fps requires 1.9gigapixels per second processing
How is 1080 480fps not possible when that's half the amount of bandwidth of 8k60fps?
It comes down to how fast the image can actually be read off of the sensor. The processing/bandwidth requirements come later, after the sensor has been read out. Physically large sensors, like full frame, take longer to read out, which is why this is the first time we're getting 1080p 240fps in a full frame Canon whereas we've had 960fps from tiny smartphone cameras for years.
It is R3 Mk II, not R1
So its going to overheat 💀
🥰😍
3rd
You can record 4 channels of audio with r5c r3 r7 r8 r6 mk ii with tascam so how this is first time in r1 or r5 mk ii?😂😅🤣 sorry forgot about r10 and r50
Sorry…but who talks this much with their hands. 😂
Dudes, these ain't no video cameras.
It has all these excellent features, but does it have one of the most simple features that has been found on even cheap cameras from other brands for over a decade (that has been missing from most Canon cameras)? That is, can you keep the horizon level on during recording video? It may seem silly, but this one feature will decide whether I purchase one or not. I know it has some self-leveling IBIS thing, but that isn't what I'm asking. I just want to be able to make the camera level myself, because I can see the level on the screen. Can do that?
Hello Dude.
This feature is not included on the R1 or R5 Mark II. I is available on some EOS cameras such as the R7. Our camera support team is happy to answer questions and to discuss models that have this feature. You can call them at 1-800-652-2666 Monday- Saturday; excluding holidays. Outside the USA, visit our Global website at Canon.us/globalsupport. We hope this information is useful..
@@CanonUSA I can call, but can you tell me why such a basic function that other companies allow for would not be an option on these high end cameras? Why would it be on a cheaper camera, but then also included on the R5C as well? This all just doesn't make sense.
What horizon leveling ?
@@creativegreatsvisuals not horizon leveling, but the level. The line in the middle of the screen (in most cases) that shows you if the camera is perfectly level or not.
