Thank you ; good relationships should be supportive, encouraging and kind. Both people have to commit to heal the toxic behavior.

I am very grateful that I found you/this channel. I just broke up with my husband with whom I had a "toxic" relationship, well said ! His desires/ ideas always mattered... and if something went wrong "it only was my fault"! I really appreciate your videos ... it helps me a lot! Thank you very much!

Conversely, you don't want to be in a relationship with someone who constantly shows up at your door in one crisis after another, when they don't deal with the deeper issues, and only contact you when they have a problem or some need from you.

It's not about finding lots of facts that prove you that the relationship is toxic. Sometimes it's quite straightforward, i.e. you talk to me violently or call me names once... you're out.

Hey there Doc Snipes. This is everybody 😝
Thank you so much again. Helps so much in combination with therapy and self reflection and working toward that healthier self. I love listening to you videos when driving and picking out a couple things that stand out and actively thinking on them

I was so drained being around my mother visiting I would have to lie down and recover afterwards, and at least equal to the amount of time spent with her. I wasn't being hypervigilant (my wife is, I know what it is) it was like I had walked into a bees nest and received double digit bee stings

Thank you. This topic is so helpful to me. I appreciate when you use examples that one can relate to. You are so articulate - it helps me to understand many things better as well as I can expand my vocabulary and articulate my thoughts better.

Your on point, the guy pays NO attention to me. I only criticize because I seek improvement . He never encourages me, he's ONLY about himself. No matter what it's ALL about him getting his way. I'm done ! I just need time to move out.

Recently, learned that I have pretty extreme codependent patterns, I have started using two trusted friends that know every detail about my life, who I am, and patterns to give feedback and an outside perspective. Today's feedback on whether the relationship was unbalanced: "She reminds of those games people play where you take a shot every time someone says a word. Her word would be I." Thank you for your videos.

You’re so welcome. Thank you for watching my videos. Would some videos on codependency help? They are free.
If you think so, here’s the list: ruclips.net/user/DocSnipessearch?query=codependency

Thank you, I have been binge watching several topics for the past month or so. I found your videos trying to understand CPTSD, codependency, and abandonment anxiety; your videos opened my eyes to the fact that I solidly hit 9/9 criteria for BPD. I grew up on the streets as a homeless runaway and in institutions with teams of mental health professionals from 13-22 coming out of an extreme abusive/ neglectful household, the information on your channel allowed me to finally understand where many of my patterns come from and why I am the way I am. I wish I had more resources now that I recognize the problem and have a desire to change. Your videos, my budding trusted network of healthy friends, and low cost CBT/ DBT resources have provided a framework to fill the gap until I can get the help I need, and for that I appreciate you.

There's no conversing with toxic partners. It doesn't work unless they seek professional help and they won't because they get something out of mistreating you.

Thank you Dawn that was really helpful. I had a toxic relationship with my elder brother and I wrote him a letter and told him how his behaviour made me feel. This was about 17 years ago and it was the bravest thing I ever did!! I sat him down and very nervously read him my letter, he disagreed with everything I said and it made him very angry. I couldn't of handled the situation any better as I had so much hatred towards him I literally wanted to kill him, but instead I wrote him a letter. It must of sunk in with him because his behaviour towards started to change although there was more distance between us. He has never apologised to me or accepted that what I said was right and I am still very wary of him and super vigilant about how he behaves towards me. He does say things to me from time to time that feels like the old toxic behaviour but I don't know how to bring it up again because "HE WOULD NOT LIKE IT!!!!" I still feel resentment and anger towards him that he has never apologised to me or admitted his behaviour was wrong and I was wondering how you think I should approach this situation. I hate conflict and I don't need anymore trauma or upset in my life as I have had enough trauma in my life to last 10 life times. Do you think it would be best not to say anything at all or should I speak to him again? I know exactly how he would react if I was to bring this up again as he is a very proud person with a large ego who will not admit any wrong doing at all!!! All the best, Ryan.

ITS EASY TO LOOK GOOD FROM OUTSIDE..BUT THE REAL BEAUTY IS WHEN UR INSIDE IS MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN YOUR OUTSIDE. DO THE INNER WORK. THATS THE WORK THAT IS PRICELESS. MONEY CANNOT BUY THIS..ONLY DEDICATION AND ACCEPTANCE. KEEP PUSHIN 4WARD. DO THE WORK!

This is very good, thank you for the information!
There is a misunderstanding about the definition on "toxic". Whether or not this behavior is intentional or not. Whether or not if the individual is toxic or just the incompatibility and one party is not to be blamed or better yet, who is to blame for the toxicity. I think examples of toxicity need to be listed in order to define something toxic like a doctors diagnosis specifically which you do but without saying probably. I just feel the word toxic is toxic in itself. I believe that there is a solution for every situation and the word is more "dire" and could be saved for certain situations in specific so people don't walk around thinking that they could be toxic, like feeding paranoia.. Just some 2 cents but none the less I appreciate all that you do! Even your Bible studies!!!

Your videos need to be played in the high schools of black communities You would uplift up out youth who's parents don't believe in or can't afford therapy. I will be 50 in July I can't explain how through your videos I'm reshaping my belief system and my life is not so depressing it's becoming easier for me to express myself and know what's health and what's toxic and the effects of my life decisicions

Alright listen up this comes from the marine corps...
    Getting sick is about change.
I know something about what truly goes on here.
Change is not easy but it gets easy with time.
It's tough sometimes but just because something happened to you
Doesn't mean it's ok to do anything that anyone is not supposed to.
And it's tough when you have someone in your face day after day
reminding you of something you really don't want to be reminded of🤣😎
