    honestly, when you said the pungent taste was the least balancing, I almost started crying.
    I am vata-pitta dosha but I DEVOUR spicy food regularly. It’s like if it’s not hot, I don’t like it. I’m learning though!

    so helpful! I can't believe how much I already gravitated toward these things naturally. Have been transitioning out of a fully vegan diet and including things like cottage cheese and eggs, which I tolerated immediately REALLY well. Cut down my bean consumption and am sticking to tofu. My digestion is greatly improved. It's so crazy how accurate this is.

    Interesting. I have recently learned that I am vata-pitta and I feel that my body naturally feels very comfortable with heavier bland food, even though I find it boring to eat. I absolutely love the taste of pungent salty things and will devour them but have also noticed that once I start I can’t stop, it’s like I’m compulsively feeding the fire and can’t quit. I’ll end up pouring nearly half the bottle of sriracha sauce on one portion of chips. Now I see that I may have literally been feeding the fire! I think I need to listen to the way my body reacts and when it goes wild about a salty pungent taste I will know the reason it is acting in a kind of triggered way is because I’m stoking the fire with exactly the wrong, highly combustible fuel. It’s hard to give up those tastes though.

  • @happyhealthyhadlee

    This is awesome! I always get questions from my clients about how to balance BOTH vata and pitta. This is going to be a great video to send them to! I like how you focus on the elements and how those combined elements contribute to the vata/pitta imbalances. It's so much more intuitive that way, rather than just trying to memorize what vata and pitta are supposed to look like!

  • @oksanapodolets7725

    Hallo Clare! Thanks for the video, it was very helpful! It's very interesting cause I was actually eating what you recommend intuitively. But I have a question if I can drink matcha if I'm Vata Pitta?

    • @Clareminded
      @Clareminded  4 года назад +6

      Hi Oksana! So glad you enjoyed this video, and yes! Very intuitive of you. :) Matcha is fine for vata/pitta. If you find it brings you too much of a "high" you can add a date or use plant milk and cardamom to help balance it. Blend all together. :)

I am Vata predominant with a little Pitta but going though menopause....a few hot flushes (I read that to avoid these I must follow a Pitta diet so hence why I'm looking at this vid). Its really cool to have found your channel and now I will spend hours listening to your advice!! PS, do you think it is worth me going to a Ayuvedic Doctor or professional in UK at some point to find out exactly what I need to do? Its a bit expensive so I don't want to waste my money. I find I need some grass-fed beef once in a while, and the best time for that is early in the a.m. Then yes, the most difficult foods for (but somewhat necessary for my predominant vata and a lot of pitta) such as naturally-sweet whole wheat (non-GMO God willing), pasta, rice, or starchy vegetables can be eaten freshly cooked around 10 ir 11 but before 2 p.m. Then dinner should be early and light. This makes sense. Thanks!

    Thank you for this! I did a test and it said 76% vata 76% pitta 40% kapha. A lot of this make sense to me, I listen a lot to my body and what it wants and I do prefer fruit and veggies. I can't eat rice at all and not artichokes then I get into a terrible stomach pain. But I am also obsesses with eating black pepper every day, I love it so much! And even do I don't eat super strong food I am growing a huge amount of chili peppers, can I eat the ones that is not super strong? Or is it just a waste of my time with this hobby of mine? I do have a lot of diseases and it was a bit sad to see that I can't drick ice cold water. I do love water and I drink a lot but I can't drink it at a room temperature it makes me wanna throw up so is there anyway I can go around this or do I have to drink only tea to get healthy and get my ama strong?

    • @Clareminded
      @Clareminded  3 года назад +1

      I would suggest eating food that is in alignment with the seasons, what nature naturally provides at certain times of the year. As for cold water, anything cold suppresses agni, our digestive fire, which decreases our ability to digest, absorb, and assimilate food. warm water and tea help increase agni, and decrease ama. :) Hope this helps!

    • @rosierackartass
      @rosierackartass 3 года назад

      @@Clareminded Thank you , yes I do that already. Ok so no more cold drinks if I want to feel good or better than I do now then :( That is kind of depressing actually :( So what happens then if I don't drink enough cause I will for sure drink very small amount if it is just tea, will that destroy something else? I now drink around 2½-3 liters a day te and water together and if only tea it might be around 3 dl a day and some days nothing. I did see that milk is ok but that you never have in room temperature, at least not here in Sweden as it is only fresh milk that will go sour. Do I have to heat that up as well?
