Just yesterday, I fitted the Fiamm 72112 low note horn to my 500x. It looks exactly the same as the Denali and is so much better than the original. Packaging states it is 133db and definitely louder. Just swapped it straight over using the existing bracket.
Hi I fitted one of these to my last bike and was worth every penny for the big improvment. The bike i got now has had SP exhaust fitted which tells others i am around so look out theres a Micky about. Keek safe Micky
Hi Like you been busy just been away for 5 wks in motorhome to Dorset. Hope to go bike camping very soon and then off to the Gower. We will meet up you have my number. Keep safe.
I have one as well Andrew and agree about the positioning , will be interested how you re-position it when you get round to it . Just as a side I sometimes get cramp in the right arm and am considering buying an Atlas Throttle Lock ( not cheap ) for my 500X any thoughts ? Regards Niall
I’ve moved a bit to the side and will do a video while camping this weekend…not seen those Atlas gadgets before, had a BMW with a basic throttle lock which was built in 👍🏻
I mounted an Atlas throttle lock on my CB500X and I am glad I have it. I also occasionally get hand cramps or numbness (from arthritis and/or vibrations) and it definitely helps. Mind you, I live on the Canadian prairies with almost no major elevation changes, and where I can literally ride for hundreds of kilometres without hitting any curves worth noting. I got the top kit (you can use either the top or bottom mount) because I prefer the button positioning. Anyone considering an Atlas throttle lock should keep the following critical points in mind: - It is a throttle lock, not a cruise control. It is designed to hold the throttle in a specific position rather than maintaining a specific speed - It is best used on long, straight, flat sections of road - Once engaged your speed can still increase/decrease with even minor elevation changes, wind gusts, going around curves, if you set it while the bike is still accelerating/decelerating, etc. - You can easily override it in emergency situations without hitting the disengage button, and you can still add some micro adjustments when it's engaged to fine tune your speed on flat roads - It uses a friction pad that may not hold if you are riding in wet weather (honestly you shouldn't use any throttle lock in wet conditions anyways for safety's sake) Note: I have not tested it in wet conditions - Once mounted, it is exposed and may be easily stolen if someone really wants it - It has solid build quality but could do with being less expensive - If you have heated grips they may or may not get in the way (you only need a couple of millimetres clearance) I considered these limitations beforehand and am glad I bought one as it really helps on longer duration rides. Once engaged I can let go with my right hand while at speed and it allows me to clench/unclench my hand, flex my wrist, as well as stretch out my elbow and arm. Even if I only do it for 5 to 20 seconds at a time it still provides a substantial amount of relief and definitely increases my riding stamina
Thanks for the video! Quick question: does it make a difference if the horn is facing down (as you have it) vs. facing forward? I would think that if it faces forward, it would be more audible to vehicles in front of you. Thanks.
Thanks Vincent, I’ve always fitted them this way and don’t think it makes a difference but in any case Denali recommend fitting this way to allow road spray to drain out and avoid issues internally with water ingress. Hope that helps 👍🏻
I will order this one. I would appreciate if you can also tell me the life of the horn. Normally, the heat generated near the horn is bit more, so am wondering whether it will be gone soon?
Hi, yes it will fit a 2023 model…not sure about the international shipping but this is who I bought mine from…possibly contact them to check www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321875771508?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=rm8UDOvGTOW&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=MKjvCP0rTiS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

They do make a difference and already used mine to avoid an idiot pulling out - paid for itself 😆 👍🏻
Another quality addition to the cb500x
It’s definitely better for the times needed 👍🏻

Hi Micky, good cheap upgrade... I’ve been a bit busy but need to meet up for a coffee 👍🏻

@@mickydavies indeed we will, enjoy your trip 👍🏻
The Soundbomb was the first mod I made to our 500X. I’m interested to see your side mounting in the future.
Yep, it’s what I usually do with all my bikes…I’ll do a brief update video of the relocation
Could use the other bracket that came with it bend it slightly to position the horn to where you actually want it ! That’s all I did 👍
Funnily enough Chris, that’s what I’ve subsequently done 👍🏻
Another good extra . I've checked it out and can only get it on Amazon here . M in Aus
Worth the money to avoid the idiots Mal

@@thecampingbiker791 I guess that makes sense. Been considering the Soundbomb Mini for my Street Triple. Thanks!

Put it on mine too but with Denali additional bracket
I’m thinking of the louder one for my new NX500

Hi Tarun, I’ve had these horns on other bikes and they have lasted years, in fact I’ve never had one fail 👍🏻
..I’m confident they are just far enough away not to be bothered by the engine heat, but only time will tell 👍🏻
Many thanks
Great idea just ordered one
I’ve mounted mine to one side now and fits a bit better, will do a quick video over next week 👍🏻
Hi just got mine see fig 4 on ur instructions for polarity , cheers john
