  • In this video I fit the Denali Soundbomb Mini to the Honda NC750X,
    This is a direct replacement for the manufacturers horn offering louder, and deeper sound, making sure you are heard on the road.
    But are they worth it? And how loud does it really go?

    NOt a great test. Too short of "honks" for one, secondly better test outside, and thirdly, running the bike . I put my new Soundbomb mini on this weekend, and it's WAY louder. Almost too loud as I was testing it and 2 neighbors ran out, thinking the trash collector truck was honking to have residents move their cars in the way of the bins. It's DEF much louder and will work very well here in this city of 4M people and the worst traffic in America.

    Not sure of the price of a Deneli Mini but our auto parts stores in North America carry similar horns made by Fiamm. I noticed the horn you tested is a Low (an "L" on the horn). On each of my last three bikes I've installed a set of Fiamms, 1 Low and 1 High. You need to use a relay but it's not a difficult job. You end up with a 130 db, two tone horn, that is very commanding.

      I hate making spelling mistakes! DENALI. Bosch also makes trumpet horns, low and high. Same shape as the Denali Mini and the Fiamms. Finding a place to mount them is well worth the increase in volume.

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  3 года назад +1

      Very interesting! I didn't realise this. The slightly bigger versions of these horns are dual tone and require the relay so assume that's what that is. Thank you for letting me know

      @@SamVBikes You're welcome, Sam. My first BMW, bought in 1977, came with dual Fiamms. Before that all we had were those pancake meep meep horns. I bought a new BMW three years ago. Pancake horn. One of the first things I did was add the dual Fiamms. They really let dummies know you're there. Between the two BMWs I had a couple of nice pocket rockets, sport bikes. I put the Fiamms on those as well.

      It gives you so much more confidence doesn't it, just knowing something is there that is that loud and can definitely be heard! Now.. I just need to come up with an idea that will get guys like us to buy it for years and year haha

    Helpful video. How does it compare (do you know) with the next horn up?

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  3 года назад +2

      Great!
      I believe the one up from this is a twin sound horn, with compressor type canister so its quite a bit louder (think truck horn). However, that needs an additional wiring loom for most bikes which made it nearly 3 times the price of this when I was looking for one! You also have to find somewhere to bury the compressor part which comes with it.
      All a bit of a faff for me when this one is more than loud enough!
      Hope that helps!

      Where you can find the fuse ? In triumph scrambler for horn same issue

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  2 года назад

      In the fuse box for the bike, it should have a label for the horn fuse. If not, look in your manual/handbook, you can see which fuse is for the horn etc

    I see that you didn't increase the wire size to compensate for the higher ampere draw of a larger horn. That might have helped with the loudness.

    You know why it sounds louder to you and not your phone?
    Because phone mics and apps are absolutely garbage. Only good for measuring similar sounds. Different pitch sounds may fall around peaks or dips in the $2 half concealed microphone hole in your phone.

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  2 года назад

      It was worth trying but you're right, the mics are rubbish
