  • How to fix your dishwasher. Quick and easy repair. Overflow error. Cleaning the sensors
    Try this fix before looking for a “handyman”:
    - This “repair” applies to Electrolux or related dishwashers, but I’m almost sure it works for all dishwashers.
    - It’s about the “Overflow sensor (Anti-Flood device had been activated)”.
    - What’s happening? The wash cicle is stopped, the empty pump is running and you hear beeps and see LEDs flashing.
    - What’s wrong? The water level sensor gets clogged, it doens’t stop the water, the extra water flows through a pipe in a tray under the dishwasher, where it activates the Overflow sensor that stops the water supply and turns on the empty pump.
    - So, we have to cleam the water level sensor.

    Hello. I just removed the front under plate and removed most of the water in the bottom with small bathroom towels and then let a fan blow for a hour just in case. Power on and everything was ok. Thanks for the tip that it was not necessary to take out the machine. Saved me a lot of time.

    Spent an hour and a half following this guide, mine didn't have the sensors at the bottom but I gave the pipes and insides a good clean anyway. Soaked all the water up out of the bottom with paper towel and it's working again! Thanks a bunch dude!

    Nice video, but you could do it in an easier way, without moving out your dishwasher. I did it yesterday on mine, and worked perfectly hassle free. Just unscrew the metal panel underneath the door. This will allow you to reach the anti flood tray and empty it with a sponge or cloth. No need to move out your dishwasher👍👍👍

    Ikea Velgjord (Elextrolux) with i20 (drainage) error intermittently. approx 6 years old.
    Solved by flushing out the pressure sensor with a big syringe-and-hose using a degreaser solution. A big black and white "booger" came out of the sensor hole, so that made it kinda obvious as soon as I saw it :)
    For now everything runs smoothly again. Very glad I didn't have to go inside the machine

  • @stevezodiac491
    @stevezodiac491 Год назад +1

    I have just fixed mine. The dishwasher drain was running continually and wouldn't shut off, with the sump completely empty. I removed the strainer and steel tray to expose the sump hole. Then I got the garden hose and attached it to the outside tap and turned it on, with the nossle shut at the other end. Without removing any other panels on the side or front, I sprayed the sensors carefully a couple of times intermittently, from the garden hose nossle, whilst allowing the drain pump to empty the sump in between efforts, to give clear access to the sensors, with the spray, on each attempt, to clear the sensors out. After three spraying actions the sump pump stopped after the sump was completely empty and obviously the sensors in the sump hole were now clear of whatever was blocking them. Be careful not to put too much water pressure on the sensors from the garden hose nozzle, as it is generally over 2 bar or 28 psi. Only spray the sensors gently. My dish washer is a zanussi.
    If it had not cleared as described previously, I would have poured kettle hot water into the sump hole to melt any fat, then returned to the garden hose method again, whilst still hot. Good luck with yours ! Another tip, if your control lights do not come back on afterwards, turn the unit off and then back on again at the wall. The usual tip for any computer or chip controlled mechanism to re-set it.

    I have a Gorenje dishwasher displaying Error F54. According to the manual, it requires a technician to solve the issue at hand.
    Watched your video and tried a similar approach. My dishwasher did not have any side covers to remove. So i just tipped the dishwasher in an 45 degree angle to let all the water drain out from the overflow tray.
    Then using a steamer, I cleaned up the sensors and small holes like in your video.
    After assembly, it runs again and the pump is not longer running mad. :D
    I hope the solution will last for some time.. :)

I guess I shouldn’t have. Is there any trick for putting it back? I took the two small projecting parts into the two holes, but they do not seem to go in full length. At least, this black piece does not stand there firmly, falls off very easily. Also, I have no idea where the third small part on the back goes into. At 3.32 what is the clear container with the orangey coloured liquid. Just curious. Haven't found the tray where the water goes if it doesn't drain. But fairly certain my anti flood warning has been triggered when dishwasher moved from brother's house to my own. Worked fine with him but stops 1 minute in and warning lights suggest water won't drain. No reason to be hardware fault. Moved safely and carefully. I assume I've triggered some switch somewhere.

    • @naturetravelandfood2231
      @naturetravelandfood2231  2 года назад +2

      The orange liquid is something internal of the dishwasher , maybe some processed salt for decalcification.
      The tray where the excess water goes is always in the most lower part of the dishwasher. If the tray is dry you have another problem.
      Try to pull the dishwasher out of it's place 10cm and run it again. Maybe the intake and drain pipes are too crowded between the dishwasher and the back wall. Some dishwashers are very sensitive about this. This happened with my new dishwasher.

    • @ryanodonnell1007
      @ryanodonnell1007 2 года назад

      Tray dry. Pulled dishwasher out and empties standing water from pipe. Thought I was onto a winner. It ran longer than ever but refuses to actively drain. Water flows out correct tube but unable to move adequately against gravity. Eventually cycle stops and standing water remains inside. Have to manually drain waste water into a bucket. I have reached the end of my tinkering me thinks. Amazed if it's a defective pump as my brother 'swears' it was working few days prior. It was sideying while transported. Can only assume something has messed up at this point.thanks form you reply.

    • @ryanodonnell1007
      @ryanodonnell1007 2 года назад

      Noticed too that water seems to actively travel through that orange stuff and makes sense that it has something to do with softening water hardness (or salt thing) or some other form to filter incoming water.

      Mai simplu decât să scoți acel căpăcel cred ca scoți carcasa laterala să ai acces la pompă și verifici dacă vibrează / funcționează. Dar atenție la curent! Eu m-am "ciupit" de câteva ori

    I’ve cleared the flood and switch is down but pump still keeps going and no error codes? 18:24 10/11/23

    If your lights keep flashing, you need to reset the system after the error. Hold the function button down and turn it off and back on again. Mine only worked after doing that!

    Man, you're awesome!!!
    So, I opened the furniture, I wiped the spider web, I found a loaf of bread, then I opened the front tablet under the door. There was not much water.
    From there you can't see that valve that blocks the water leak, then I cleaned the sensors area with a kharker steamer, then I wiped all the excess water collected there.
    I started the dishwasher, in the first phase the pump ran empty again for 15 seconds, then, miraculously, it started to draw water and life returned to normal.
    My wife says I'm a genius.
    He doesn't know our secret!
    U made my day!
    Ti iubesc pt clipul pe care l-ai facut
    in cazul in care te pricepi si la moatore! am un OM642, dupa fiecare regenerare are o usoara vibratie/tremur la relanti, ce-o fi ?

    I had a similar problem
    My dishwasher wouldn’t drain so I cleaned the filter and emptied the water out with the nozzle from a carpet cleaner
    Unfortunately the tray underneath had filled with water stopping the machine taking on water so I pulled the machine out and decided to tip the machine forward emptying the water on the floor and mopping up with towels saving having to take the side panels off

    story time because im veeeeery stupid. i knew that dish soap is not allowed in the dishwasher, but i thought it was like a multiple time mechanical thing, not that i would drop a drop of it and the machine would kill itself. so my kitchen was full of foam a few minutes later, i killed the electricity cause i panicked. i also live in a rented apartment so i never wanted anyone to know that i was so fucking stupid. long story short, your dishwasher is the exact same model as mine and this video worked like a charm. cheers a hundred fucking times :)))))
    disclaimer: i live in romania and this country is known for "why screw a screw when you can put some adhesive" so my dishwasher isnt coming out BECAUSE ITS GLUED INTO THE CABINETS AND THE COUNTERTOP so I can't take it out.... so i hoped that unscrewing the lid below the door would be enough and it was. anyway. thank you so much for this! you saved my embarrassment :))))

    had this exact issue on different model.. solution worked but I did the rookie error or running a cycle with a bunch of dishwashing liquid inside.. ended up with suds everywhere :p :) :)
